Cosy small hotel. Basic, but with free wifi and reasonable breakfast. Cosy attic room with low ceiling. 1.90 or taller should mind their head...

The location was fairly close to the city center, but far enough out to be quiet. I was backpacking for the weekend and had no problems walking to/from both train stations and around to all the sights. The couple who run the place were pretty friendly and the included breakfast was good. My room had a private bathroom outside of the room (just down a small flight of steps), but I didn't find it to be much of an inconvenience as there was a sink in the room. All in all I thought it was a good deal for what I paid. The decor is pretty run down and outdated and it wasn't super clean, but the things that really mattered like bed sheets, towels, shower, toilet and sinks were all clean.

The area and street we were in. Quiet - not far from the city centre - Good bars / restaurants nearby. We booked double room and avoided an attic room. When we got there we were put in an attic room which had 4 beds in it. Apparently some people for this room had cancelled so it was put to us that this was a larger room. We booked "a large room" it was not large. Decor in a bad state - peeling wallpaper, not been decorated for quite some time. Bathroom small. Chipped mirror. Breakfast not great quality - cheap sausages etc. £75 a night - although over easter weekend I thought for the state of the room was too much. I would have paid £35 on a weekday tops. £50 at a push for the location.

The location for touring the city was perfect. The atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. The owners were very nice and engaging. The bed seemed a bit small for two adults at first, but we got used to it.

It was in a good location. The bed was comfortable. The couple running the guest house were very unfriendly. They seemed to hold us responsible for the blocked toilet even though signs in several languages in the bathroom would seem to indicate an ongoing problem. Their manner was accusatory and their comments inappropriate. Although the bed was clean and comfortable, overall the room was very shabby.

Good guest house with friendly staff, breakfast and location. If you're tall (190cm+), I would not recomend the attic room, if you don't bring a helmet.

Breakfast was very good and the guest house is located a short walk from the city centre. The bed was a little uncomfortable and more care needed with the cleanliness of the bathroom. The room itself was clean.

It was pleasant. Plenty of busses into town. A lovely 30minutes walk into town through the parks. Breakfast needs to upgrade. But the sad thing about the rooms. The beds need to be replaced. We had a plank under our mattres which was very uncomfortable and the white blanket was dirty. The room 4 we stayed in had a broken bed. They had a plank holding it together and the mattres was just as poor. I am not sure if the plank was to hold the bed frame together or to stop the mattres from sagging. It was very uncomfortable and the blanket on the bed was dirty with black marks on it. If there was another accommodation available I would not have stayed there. Please let them know they need to replace the bed.

Nice breakfast, large room. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Bed was hard. About a 20 minute walk to the Royal mile. Not a problem for us, but you have to carry your luggage up many steep steps to the rooms. Also, the sink in the bathroom is extremely small.

Excellent breakfast(the best I ever had anywhere else), spacious and clean room, fast and free WiFi, very helpful staff, very peaceful surrounding, bus stop is just 2-3 min by walk, bus takes 10 min to reach city center, guest house itself is in good location where everything is available in walking distance, I dont know why but price for 'single occupancy' is very cheap compare to all the facilities provided in the room. And yes facility of tea and coffee making in the room is available(free tea bags, coffee, sugar and milk are provided each day), and I loved when they provided me plug adapter so that I can plug my laptop into the board. Overall very nice stay for 6 days there.

I liked the room, the electric kettle in the room and quietness of the location. I like the breakfast room and the breakfast. It seemed, that they forgot to clean the toilet and bathroom after the previous guest.
