Barcelo Marine Hotel is housed in a grand building with magnificent views over the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran, overlooking Royal Troon Golf Course. The hotel boasts a wealth of recreational and fitness facilities, including a modern fitness suite, sauna Jacuzzi, steam room, indoor pool and beauty salon. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We needed an early booking for a wedding and having called in advance they knew to have something ready for us. The room was very clean and comfortable .

Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful views over the Firth of Clyde to the island of Arran. Good service. Comfortable room We chose not to have dinner at the hotel as it seemed pricey (£37 for three courses).

Extremely expensive for food and drinks with a very arrogant and rude bar man. We ordered main courses in the bar that turned out to be the size of what you would fit on a saucer and disgusting. No extra pillows in the room, no iron, bulbs gone in the lamps, its supposed to be a four star hotel, they must have bought the stars, its a disgrace

The staff were very friendly and the room at the front of the hotel was lovely. The hotel is currently undergoing external maintenance which did affect the view a little. But, understandably this work does need to take place. Looking forward to visiting again soon

Thoroughly enjoyed the leisure facilities. Staff friendly. Scaffolding at front of hotel detracted from overall first impression however we appreciate the need for maintenance/improvements.

Great location, good food, attentive staff. Our room was on the 3rd floor, the attic, and the wall of our room had an alarming slope on the ceiling. I had to walk with my head resting on my shoulder getting into and out of bed. A nasty wee hickup in an otherwise good wee trip.

The hotel was excellent .The staff were very friendly and the facilities excellent .Suitable for couples mature and young abd also families . The location is wonderful overlooking Royal Troon Golf Course . The fairways restaurant had a groumet evening on the Friday which was fantastic and good value at £35 for 6 courses including wines . I can recommend this hotel

Spa treatments were excellent. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast options great. View from the room was not good - looking out onto roof tops and pipes which made a noise constantly (especially since we had asked for a quiet room!). Bar food and drinks were overpriced

Proximity to beach and other Ayshire towns It was supposed to be a twin room, but the 2 beds were slammed together as there was insufficient room for them to be apart. This was disappointing. The room was only a double size at most. (Room 42). To add insult to injury, the bed was hard and uncomfortable.

Most helpful and friendly staff excellent breakfast beautiful surroundings As I visited without car. The hotel is a wee bit off the beaten track with regard to getting to town /marina/harbour. Especially if the weather is not too favourable!
