Barceló Marine Hotel

Está junto a un campo de golf y con la costa oeste de Escocia de frente. Se puede llegar a la playa en 30 segundos caminando, además de estar a solo 8 libras en taxi del aeropuerto de Prestwick (10 minutos). También dispone de acceso a un club que está anexionado al hotel con un gym muy completo y un recinto con piscina, sauna y baño turco.

La incomodidad de que esté alejado del pueblo y no haya más remedio que comer allí y los precios del restaurante no son bajos, además va en referencia a si comes dos o tres platos, con precios a partid de 24 libras por menú de dos platos. En cambio se distingue que es un restaurante de "categoría" y la comida está bien. El único inconveniente lo tuvimos con el chico de recepción, que a pesar de que nosotros hablamos perfectamente inglés, era pràcticamente imposible entenderle, a pesar de decirle que nos hablara más despacio y claro, pero esto es debido a su acento escocés y no precisamente al hotel, aunque sí que opino que si está en recepción debería tener un poco más de cuidado porque no entendíamos ni la hora de apertura del restaurante.

Llegué tarde al hotel y me hicieron un sandwich a las 12 de la noche, eso fue reponedor.

¡Fué un desastre! Definitivamente la web Booking y este hotel no se comunican. La reserva no existía, pero llevaba impresa la reserva y respetaron las condicions del sitio web. La calefacción no funcionaba en mi habitación, después de 3 horas de tratar de arreglarla, me cambiaron de habitación a las 2:00 de la madrugrada. Con mi esposa embarazada desfilamos en pijama por el hotel a una nueva habitación, esta vez si con calefacción y calentita. A las 8:00 de la mañana entraron a limpiar la habitación, al vernos dormir pidieron disculpas y se marcharon. Pedí un ordenador para reservar un billete de tren y estuvieron confundidos un rato, hasta que finalmente me llevaron al Bussines Center y me dejaron usar un PC, la primera clave que me dieron en recepción no funcionó, la segunda tampoco, la tercera si.

Room was small and dated. Had a parking lot view, long wait to be served in the dining room for expensive food.

excellent location,professional staff, first class food,awesome views of the golf course and coast.I had an excellent service from the receptionist, she arranged for a change of room for us as we requested a room with a bath, this was no problem to the staff at all, very accomodating and friendly.

The lighting in the fairways restaurant would have been better if lamps were used rather than the main ceiling lights, tha tables were also past their best, rocky tops etc.

Quiet location near the sea, & on golf course,plus the room & comfort of a luxury hotel

Breakfast price was £14.95 irrespective of whether you had a cooked or contintental. this was inflexible & expensive.The bedroom did not have a heated towel rail, yet invited guests not to change towels on a daily basis.The restaurant served tepid water, but did not leave the jug on the table Even Little Chef can manage a jug of iced water

The cooked breakfast always came too soon before we had finished the fruit starter!!

The setting of the hotel right on the Firth of Clyde, overlooking the Isle of Arran and having indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi to use.

I stayed overnight in a delux room. It was a corner room which was large, spacious and had sea views on 3 sides. Staff were very friendly and the pool was lovely.

I thought the breakfast and food in the bar was a bit expensive for what you got. Friends who were also staying commented that their room was at the back and were less effusive about the room reflecting other comments I read about the hotel. That's why I went for an up-grade to ensure I had a room at the front - and I'd say it was worth it!

Proximity to many golf courses and the seaside of Ayrshire, with good access to Prestwick airport.

Poor ventillation/airconditioning in bar area during warm weather.
