Quality of food. Size of family room. Cleanliness of hotel.
view from family room over roof of breakfast area.
The family room was excellent and the children were very happy and the adults loved the sea views and seating in the bay window area. Breakfast was really good and plenty of it. The hotel
There was some drafty areas on the lounge/bar.
quality of food
The hotel is nice in a great location, clean and friendly.
There are huge differences in the quality of the rooms and no variation on cost. I would advise you check out what room you have been allocated before arrival, I wouldn't stay here again simply as it is a gamble.
The location was excellent. The staff were very polite and efficient. The breakfast was good.
1. The parking was a nightmare. 2. The first room was very tiny and we could not move in it. We requested a change of rooms asking for a room with a view and we were given a room in the attic with a small window. They told us that they do not honour requests made online through the Booking.com website and we should have called them directly. 3. Generally speaking, the hotel needs upgrading considering what they charge per room.
Nice, comfortable room
Staff didn't seem particularly attentive
Location, reception staff helpfulness, quiet room as requested.
Can't beat the location.
It's an old building so the walls are very thin and you can hear people walking around all over the building. Breakfast was average. Shower was weak. Room had quite a fusty smell. Quite expensive.
Not a lot. Breakfast was OK
Small smelly room
Super room overlooking the sea, with comfortable chairs and tables at the window. Plenty of storage. Good food - generous portions - room service. Friendly enough staff.
Cleaning could have been better - soiled surfaces often not wiped. Bathroom floor never cleaned. No instructions for Jacuzzi bath - did not seem to work.
The views from our window and the choice at breakfast
staff were friendly, good location room was clean and comfortable
we had dinner in the hotel and the standard of the food was just ok
We liked everything about this hotel. Definitely recommend it.
The sea view, staff and breakfast were top class.
The annexe was a bit outdated, wallpaper / furniture wise. The shower head was not fit for purpose and previous guests soap was left in the shower room. A bit pricey compared to what we usually pay, but thought we were getting a bit of luxury.
Shower was a dribble. Very poor on cleaning, in all regards. No air conditioning or fans. No biscuits provided for whole of stay, although we found out other guests did have some, although not every day. Hotel turned into a building site for some of our stay. No apology or explanation was provided by the hotel. Dinner was poor, and quite expensive.
Breakfast was excellent, great selection. Location very close to center of town, hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel.
Helpful reception staff and lovely breakfast
Not good if you don't get a sea view, also twin beds for a newly married couple didn't go down well!
The sea view, and the relaxing noise of the sea, also the comfortable bed and spa bath.
Lovely location directly on the sea front. Helpful staff and overall good standard
Loud music from a wedding event in the ballroom went on until 1am.
Location Breakfast was excellent (but so it should be for the price!)
Extremely hot room Poor quality decor for the price Poor cleaning (rubbish behind furniture) Shower not hot
the view from the room
the room was too small

Great location & the room was a good size for four adults.
Slightly pricey ...
This is the second time I have used the marine and found every thing to be excellent, we will definitely use the marine again.
Nothing to dislike.
The location is excellent, and the sea view rooms have a lovely view of the beach and promenade.
The room was incredibly warm and had no privacy from the promenade, meaning that we had to keep the curtains closed (blocking airflow) whilst changing. On the Saturday night a group of hotel patrons stood outside drinking and loudly talking/laughing directly below our bedroom window until well after 1am. As it was still very warm we couldn't shut the window. When we rang reception to complain we were basically told it wasn't their responsibility to deal with it and that ‘all the rooms have air-conditioning’ — which clearly wasn't true (also, this was the second time we tried ringing reception — the first time nobody answered). Overall we felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable, and definitely wouldn't stay here again.
