In their first year, Jerome and Carol undertook some major improvements to the building, including a brand new fire detection system. They plan to do more next winter in the 'closed' season of January/February/March 2009. This will include completing the rewiring, and redecorating the ground floor bedrooms and public areas.
A lift is available to all floors.
The property is now totally non-smoking.
Good traditional English food is served at dinner (18:30) with a choice of 3-course menu and served with coffee afterwards. Dinner is available only if pre-booked. Special diets can be catered for on prior request.
All check-ins must be before 21:00, unless by prior arrangement.

The hotel was well situated and our double room had a beautiful sea view. The room was clean. We felt there were no personal touches, everything seemd to have been done on a budget with the minimum that could be got away with. The staff seemed somewhat indifferent. Everything was a little on the mean side. eg. 8p for sachet of shampoo,hotels usually supply this in the room. Breakfast was served on small plates. Again it was a bit mean with 1 1/2 pieces of white toast each (not asked if we would like any other) a pre cooked fried egg that was hard, no offers of more tea etc. if we When we left we were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay. We have stayed in both cheap and expensive hotels, This one stands out for both meanness and indifference of staff!! |

The owners were pleasant & helpful. Our stay was only over night so I cannot comment on a longer stay. I know it is often necessary but I do not like plastic sheeting over the mattress. I forgot my bath wash & shampoo & there was only tablets of soap in the bathroom. |
