The positioning is perfect for walking in the Gorge, the local pubs and restaurants access to Wells. The showers were good.locally sourced breakfasts. The place is a bit dirty and tired.Human hair on the breakfast table and dog hair in the food isn't pleasant.car park is the dogs toilet....really feel for the very kind propreitor who I feel is struggling to run this well.

Anne was very welcoming and friendly and did all she could to ensure that my short stay was pleasant. Interesting buillding with an ecelectic style of decoration & ornaments. Very cosy atmosphere. Comfortable bed. Convenient parking. Hearty breakfast. Overall, good value. Some slight traffic noise in the morning in the room at the front - but nothing major.

The proprietress was lovely - very welcoming, made us feel like nothing was too much trouble for her. The house is very nice, the room was comfortable and the facilities were very good. What we particularly liked was that the food she uses for the meals is either home or locally produced, and the fully cooked breakfast was absolutely amazing.

Tolerated my slightly late arrival cheerfully. Service good without being fussy. I enjoyed my stay and would use again if in the area.

Friendly staff, clean room, short walk to attractions, shops, etc. Breakfast included a good choice. Shower was unpredicable, lunged from being freezing cold to boiling hot. Room smelt slightly of dog.

I used this hotel for an overnight stay, and it was adequate.Very friendly landlady, and met my request for safe bike storage. The rooms were in close proximity all coming off a small landing, and it was quite noisy.

This b&b is conveniently situated for visiting Cheddar Gorge. The owner, Anne, is very friendly and made me really welcome, which was nice as I was travelling on my own. The room had a tv/dvd player and Anne had a great selection of DVDs. The room was comfortable and clean. This is a homely place to stay, very different from a large hotel. Nice home- cooked breakfast too. I was surprised at how much traffic travels through a small town like Cheddar at night. The road was a bit noisier than I'd have expected but I wouldn't let it stop me staying there again.

A very warm welcome - nice cup of tea and cake (and we needn't of worried about that appearing on our bill), and an introduction to the house and area. Landlady very nice and chatty, made us feel welcome and even helped with travel arrangements. Few DVDs to choose from was a nice touch. Cool dog (Sweep). The breakfast wasn't that tasty (eggs a bit over done and toast cold and hard). Rooms a little on the small side.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin. Persönlicher Empfang in einem typischen alten englischen Haus. Das Zimmer war liebevoll eingerichtet. Sehr aufmerksamer Frühstücksservice.

“My husband and I stayed at the Oakhouse Hotel 19/08/2011. Our stay there was an absolutely awesome experience. This was mainly due to the undivided attention of Nathaniel...who never seemed to be 'off duty'! From the moment we arrived nothing seemed too much trouble. Nathaniel was there to advise, assist, serve and was so professional.” Helen, Malvern |
