Location. Off-street parking. Friendly staff.
This is a good facility that could be better with just a little more effort. Our experience was that the management has been resting too much on its laurels because they don't have to make much effort to fill all the rooms or encourage repeat business. Needs to do better to justify its historic star ratings.
Large room. Good shower. Good staff. Good value for money Very good breakfast
I did not have room for my car in the parking lot, and had to park in the street. The floor of the stair was not completely clean.
Wifi is very good Staff friendly and helpful
Very old and tired guest house Bed very hard Room dark and amenities cheap Rate is too high for the standard of the room. Not enough parking spaces for all the guests
Bus stop almost opposite and buses ran about 10 mins apart. Staff excellent. Self contained kitchen with very generous supply of breakfast supplies as well as a good cooked breakfast.
Quoted as 1.3 mls from town, but felt a lot further. Was even further from station.
The mattresses were poor
The friendly staff
mini kitchen in room
really quiet and comfortable stay. spacious room.
a little bit far from the city center, but several buses provide direct and frequent connection.
a little expensive
The beds were very comfortable!
The room smelled especially the bed when I checked the bedding and mattress it was covered in urine stains. the room smelt of smoke and was dirty. I reported it to the manager, I have emailed them and phoned them they have not responded to my email and I got cut off when I telephoned.
It's lovely having breakfast served in your room and the kitchenette for snacks etc. Comfortable bed. Beautiful sized rooms.
Noise from the water tanks in the loft disturbed sleep (as on top floor).
Breakfast so so. Bed was bad. Staff ok.
Really good value for money. Nice staff. I thought the kitchenette was a great addition - microwave gives a nice option to have an evening meal. Bed was really comfortable. Shower did the job. Had a bit of character about the room which was nice.
Being near front door it was a little noisy and got woken up.
The staff were pleasant and very helpful and attentive.Kiki was particularly helpful and responded well to our needs advising us on bus services to Oxford. The room was spacious and the ensuite bathroom had a bath. There were generous supplies of tea and coffee and milk and juice in the fridge for breakfast. Parking was good. The room was very clean.
The hot breakfast was disappointing- a very overdone sausage and bacon and scrambled eggs with a strange texture. The toast was of poor quality and hardly toasted. The light in the bathroom needed extra attention to come on and the bedside table lamp didn't work. The bathroom needed updating. It would have been a long walk into the city - about 30/40 minutes.
Welcoming staff, good facilities, on main road with lots of public transport if required.
The rooms were pleasant and cosy, a bit too kitchy in my opinion. WiFi signal was good. Some people are nice there.
Rather far away from the centre, needed to pay 4 pounds a day for the 20 min bus trip. Most of the staff is annoying and breakfast is served in the rooms but usually half an hour before you said you would want it, making for a rather stressful situation. Also breakfast is not really good. There was a problem with our reservation and we needed to switch rooms from one day to another, at 9 in the morning.
No breakfast as requested and confirmed for 7:30, did not arrive in time for us to leave at 8:30. TV not useful to small. Staff dismissive when asking about breakfast when it had not arrived. Very poor value.
Cleanliness of the rooms in particular the bathroom was very poor. Not worth the £130 per night and that didn't include breakfast! That was extra.
Staff were very friendly
Hallways were very worn looking
parking, kitchen facilities, staff. Room very spacious. Bathroom also good
breakfast not great but I don't really like cooked breakfasts - was not aware of any alternative. Some fruit would have been nice.
Staff were polite.
Poor breakfast, 1rasher,1 hash brown, 1 egg 1 sausage and baked beans but all poor quality. Blood spot on quilt cover.
Noise from road Breakfast very poor Hotel flood lights outside window. Its a long way from Oxford evn with bus service which is good
very pleasant reception from a helpful young lady who answered all our questions precisely. Decor impeccable throughout. Room spacious and comfortable.
All the free refreshments.
