Marlborough House Hotel - B&B  

We were upgraded to a family room. Beds were comfortable and room was large.

Parking is a bit tight and only really holds 5 cars before you start blocking people in.

The kitchenette was an excellent facility, much appreciated. Room very clean and comfortable. Bathroom a little tired looking but functional with good shower. Wifi was the best I've ever experienced in a hotel!

Our room size was brilliant, for a family there is More than enough. It was nice to have a microwave in the kitchen area And they do provide an awful lot as complimentary including half a pint of milk. Our room came with a bath which for a b and b could be seen As a nice surprise. Although there is so much to do round in Oxford, and therefore This point may seem unnessary, the tv was modern and had a wide selection of channels and was pleasant to have free wifi as we did need it for findIng some info. The breakfast was very nice as well and would recommend the cooked.

The bathroom could be updated slightly, a modern shower for instance. Our blinds and curtains were damage. Our bed sheets appeared no to be changed as my makeup left marks on the pillow and I found them Still when We got back from The day Out. Non of this spoilt the room but just things to point out. The only other point to mention was when we walked into the room there was a strong smell of Indian takeaway which meant the room needed som serious airing.

-location is a few miles outside the city, but more importantly there are not even any neighborhood restaurants or pubs in the area

Friendly staff

Good quiet location with regular bus service very close to hotel and about 10 minutes to centre of Oxford. Some good eating places within walking distance (10 minutes). All staff very friendly and helpful, and the room was large with all the facilities you could ask for.

Very spacious room. Lots of amenities - fridge with milk and yogurt, snacks. Interesting old house.

It was a good price and adequate for our needs. Mainly just wanted to spend a couple of nights in Oxford to get a feel for the city, especially the North Oxford area. There was a mini kitchen in the room (mirco, fridge, sink, table w/2 chairs), mini-bar, teas and snacks, which was convenient. There was free wi-fi and cable.

Bed was uncomfortable. It was okay for two nights, but it I stayed much longer my back would have been screaming. Bathroom condition leaves a bit to be desired - there was mildew on the tiles and shower curtains. The towels were very scratchy.

Staff very willing to help

The room was dated, paintwork in bathroom a bit scruffy, room was too near reception so could hear doors clashing in morning and people talking

it was clean and spacious- it was very nice to have the kitchenette so that I could self cater in the evening. Very pleased to find cafetiere and fresh coffee for morning.

The noise! The only drawback was that as the room was at the front of the building and there was no double glazing the drone of the traffic meant a v restless night> this was made worse by the external light being on most of the night right above the bedroom window

Having good selection of food and drink available in room and rooms were spacious. Good supply of hot water and towels. Cooked breakfast served to room was nice.
