From the moment we arrived it was apparent this was going to be a perfect place to say. The greeting, service and fabulous breakfast were first class.

    Nothing.

A wonderful old building in an extremely convenient location right in the centre of a picturesque and historic town surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk from Churchill's ancestral home of Blenheim Palace.

Location, hospitality, luxurious room, character of building and delicious breakfast.

It was fairly expensive but on reflection worth it!

Great breakfast. Clean, quiet, nice staff.

Unfortunately nothing was open in the town after 9pm but it was easy to get back to Oxford.

The location and the building itself were beautiful.

The room was unacceptably hot with no fan or air conditioning - I was made to feel stupid by the staff for not requesting a fan as "all other guests do" - why not put fans in all rooms then as they are clearly needed. It is nice enough but not worth £135 a night.

Good hotel on a good location Friendly people

If you have the single room, the bathroom is not in the room itself but in the hallway. I didn't know it upfront, otherwise I wouldn't have booked it.

Booking dot Com did not show me the cheaper single rooms. I overpaid by at least 30 pounds per night.

    Location and venue.

Owners were not as friendly as I would expect. There were no plesentries exchanged and I felt a bit like an inconvinience. I also found breakfast to be a guessing game, with no menu. The owner simply appeared with a pad to take my order and we then had to go through a complicated ritual of what was on offer before I could choose.

Great location in the town and excellent access by bus, which stopped directly outside the hotel, into city of Oxford. Didn't need to use the car and there was a hotel car park.

Being a very old building has its charms and problems. The weekend was hot, there was, obviously, no air conditioning, so the windows and secondary glazing had to be open. We had a room at the front of the building- it was a very busy road and consequently noisy late at night and early in the morning.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, comforatble bed and good shower

Due to the proximity of the main road it required secondary glazing to keep the room acceptably quiet. This made for a stuffy atmosphere as we could not open the windows. But the hotel was built a long time before we had 44 tonne lorries !!!

    Location.

B&B relying too much on location. Perfectly acceptable but no way in the luxury category it markets itself as. Able to charge that price because it is based in Woodstock.

A beautiful old building with a great deal of historic charm. Nice bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The proprieter was friendly and helpful. I found it a relaxing place to unwind.

Wifi connection only in the bar and sitting area. I had to go downstairs to send emails. Not a huge issue but mildly inconvenient.
