The Duke of Marlborough is a quaint building just outside Woodstock and Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. It offers free parking and hearty, locally-sourced food.

staff was kind
old, smelly, outdated, very bad shower, and way too expensive for what they offer. price should be half.
From the moment we arrived it was apparent this was going to be a perfect place to say. The greeting, service and fabulous breakfast were first class.
Historic quality and ambience. Good amenities and excellent breakfast.
Recommended restaurant was poor.
A wonderful old building in an extremely convenient location right in the centre of a picturesque and historic town surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk from Churchill's ancestral home of Blenheim Palace.
I submitted my wife's (Nirmala Mallipatna) opinion, she's just back in the US yesterday. Thanks so much! David Brown - I made the booking. Use her name for the review.
Location and historic value

Excellent position, good size bedroom, modern bathroom.
Location, hospitality, luxurious room, character of building and delicious breakfast.
It was fairly expensive but on reflection worth it!
Staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were ideal for a shot stay.
Standard of hotel Clenliness Shower Customer Service Breakfast
Over priced Very hot in the summer
Great breakfast. Clean, quiet, nice staff.
Unfortunately nothing was open in the town after 9pm but it was easy to get back to Oxford.
The location and the building itself were beautiful.
The room was unacceptably hot with no fan or air conditioning - I was made to feel stupid by the staff for not requesting a fan as "all other guests do" - why not put fans in all rooms then as they are clearly needed. It is nice enough but not worth £135 a night.
The staff - the rooms - the breakfast - the building everything!
Nothing at all.
The owners and their staff were just lovely and so friendly The room was immaculate The location just right for Blenheim Pallace within walking distance. Breakfast best we have every had, poached eggs just perfect, and the had Soya milk too.
Good hotel on a good location Friendly people
If you have the single room, the bathroom is not in the room itself but in the hallway. I didn't know it upfront, otherwise I wouldn't have booked it.
Booking dot Com did not show me the cheaper single rooms. I overpaid by at least 30 pounds per night.
Parking and location to Blenheim Palace. Ambience of hotel
Location and venue.
Owners were not as friendly as I would expect. There were no plesentries exchanged and I felt a bit like an inconvinience. I also found breakfast to be a guessing game, with no menu. The owner simply appeared with a pad to take my order and we then had to go through a complicated ritual of what was on offer before I could choose.
Great location in the town and excellent access by bus, which stopped directly outside the hotel, into city of Oxford. Didn't need to use the car and there was a hotel car park.
Being a very old building has its charms and problems. The weekend was hot, there was, obviously, no air conditioning, so the windows and secondary glazing had to be open. We had a room at the front of the building- it was a very busy road and consequently noisy late at night and early in the morning.
Comfortable/clean bedroom Location
Lack of bar/drinks/restaurant facilities
Informal and friendly approach
Very poor wifi, worked only in lobby...
Charming country -house style accommodation. So convenient for Blenheim Palace. Very welcoming staff. Great breakfast
