Super breakfast, beautiful building -still has all the old features you'd hope with a nice modern touch where needed. fully recommend.
Great atmosphere, lovely large old rooms, beautifully decorated and furnished. Extremely comfortable. Friendly, helpful owners who make you feel most welcome.
Bed very comfortable. Breakfast excellent
The staff were really helpful and the room was much better than we had expected which makes a change to some places we've stayed...we stayed in room 10, very spacious and if you like rooms with character and history(circa late 1400's)..this is for you, breakfast was great too, all in all a perfect historic stay in Woodstock ..def recommend
Just wished the hotel had a proper bar with a more extensive drinks menu,(although does have a small bar)...only because it's a shame the room it's in looked part of the old coaching inn and would have been a delight to spend more time in..
Very charming rooms in a historical building. The lady and the gentleman at the front desk were really kind in accomodating our needs. Travelling with a baby we had some bottles to sterilise and they kindly offered to use their own private microwave as the one in the kitchen was broken. The location is great too, just a few meters from Belheim Palace. Breakfast was amazing! We definitely recommend this nice little hotel!
Really nice place, a proper old English coaching Inn Bed and room perfectly comfortable We don't normally watch TV but if we did, they put a decent sized one in the room WiFi good and reliable Friendly welcome Selection of books to read if you want to. Good location - Woodstock has good facilities, but if that's not enough, bus straight to Oxford (20 mins) right outside the door Private, off road parking We asked for a room with a bath and got one, even though not every room has one Free glass of Prosecco in certain local eating houses if you are staying here! Perfect place to stay for what we wanted
No restaurant, and bar only open until 8pm on a Saturday. Then the place is abandoned and you are left to let yourself in. This just means it has a bit of a lonely feel, a bit abandoned, in the evening. However, this has the advantage that there is no noise from downstairs late at night, so maybe it is a positive! If you want peace and quiet, it is a good place, but if you want atmosphere, it probably isn't for you. Only other negative, it's a small one but EVERY Hotel we've ever stayed in is guilty - not just this one - CHEAP TOILET PAPER. It's a little luxury much more important than antique furniture ;-)
Spacious room Central location Everything very clean
No room service nor telephone so every time you wanted anything you had to go down three flights of stairs. No staff on duty after 10pm and no way through from car park to hotel after 10pm.
Room good size, comfortable, clean, modern bathroom.
Make sure you get down early for breakfast, things get taken away well before cut off. The woman made us feel like we were an inconvenience.
What a wonderful place to stay a 15th Century Coaching Inn full of character with very helpful and friendly Staff the room we were in was very comfortable spacious and quiet ( it was at the back ) We had an excellent evening meal across the road at the Kings Arms recommended by the Proprietor and the visit was rounded of with an excellent breakfast. We would certainly stay again if in Woodstock
Well located for the village and Oxford, good bedroom and large bathroom and shower. Excellent breakfast with very obliging waitress. Very pleasant staff and good to have free on-site parking.
Nothing apart from the overhead shower which had no directional adjustment, and no soap/shampoo shelf.
Excellent location, very welcoming and knowledgeable staff, Very quiet room even though on front of hotel.
Superior double room very pleasant but slightly let down by the shower which took 10 mins to run hot then was very hard to control temperature wise. Also would expect two hand and two bath towels.
Met in a welcoming and friendly manner, with good advice proffered re local eating possibilities, and travel facilities.
Hotel built in 15th century as a family house. The present owner is a direct descendant. Recently refurbished and providing a relaxed and hospitable environment bang in the heart of Woodstock and with its own car park. Breakfasts full English and to die for. I would definitely come again.
The interior was furnished in dark brown leather making the already dark medieval interior feel gloomy.
Large comfortable room with all mod cons. Excellent breakfast.
Attention to detail, welcome, spacious room, excellent breakfast
Pleasant welcome and no fuss checking in Comfortable room cheerful staff good location good breakfast well heated good parking
nothing, it was all good
Great for visiting Blenheim Palace, room very good and clean, bathroom huge. Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday excellent, replaced unwanted items with something else i.e. egg instead of sausage, staff excellent. Would recomend this bed and breakfast to anyone.
Not really a valid dislike but Monday breakfast, they didnt offer to exchange the unwanted items for some reason, still excellent breakfast though.
Spacious quiet room, spotlessly clean.
No full length mirror.
everything, warm welcome, comfortable room and fantastic breakfast.
Nothing to dislike.
Staff where extremely helpful
1. My wife and I both suffer from Arthritis and we asked to be allocated a room with minimum stairs. We were allocated a lovely, spacious room across a courtyard from the main building, which was ideal. 2. Parking is not a problem! 3. Our room was beautifully appointed and well equipped - very quiet and extremely comfortable. 4. We were able to be joined by our daughter for breakfast (at a VERY reasonable price) on each of the days of our stay - a real plus, because it was her birthday! 4. We will certainly be back. This has to be the most comfortable and caring B & B that I have ever stayed in!
We were made very welcome and given the run of the place including front door keys. Good Bed and Bathroom Beautifully kept Grade One listed building. The front reception room has a very old marble fire surround that had been etched / signed over the ages one dating back to 1786. Breakfast was great.
We had a road side bedroom which was very picture postcard during day time, a bit noisy at 7 in the morning but after a very night out it was not a serious problem!
Great hotel, beautiful rooms very very comfortable with a touch of luxury. Great breakfast and excellent hosts
The building was lovely and rooms clean.
No atmosphere, very unwelcoming. Breakfast poor, room average not worth 175.00 pounds. It seems the owners just want you in and out ,stayed at much better B and B for less and had a quality breakfast, the Marlborough should not be classed as luxury.
The staff were fantastically welcoming, helpful and friendly. The experience of entering the main hall and reception area was like walking into a renaissance mansion in Rome, only better.
