Friendly welcome (though strictly I was too early); comfortable, clean and warm bedroom (all rooms here were en suite); good range of choices on breakfast menu and well organised dining room. A very pleasant stay, even for mid-December!
absolutely everything from the moment we arrived. made to feel welcome on arrival at breakfast and on departure. standard of rooms and facilities are ideal.
The staff were lovely and friendly. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice, and cooked fresh on ordering. Although the furniture and décor left a lot to be desired, the place was spotless. The bathroom was pristine with lovely snowy white, soft towels. The owner was there all the time and couldn't do enough for us, they work hard to maintain high standards. we have stayed in lots of hotels worldwide and very few came up to the standard of cleanliness here.
free Wi-Fi didn't reach our room but no big deal. the lounge was cosy and the signal strong in there.
friendly staff decent breakfast
- rooms need to be renovated: rust in bathroom, shabby furniture, unpainted doors, squeaky floor. - tiny rooms, no place to put a suitcase without blocking a way - very strange family room: two separate rooms (single and double) united by a tiny hallway. We stayed in double and our child in single, we wanted to keep the doors open to hear our child but it was impossible as there were no doorstoppers (doors swung shut all the time) and the light in the hallway was lit all the night (no switch around).
Nice lounge / bar area Good breakfast Staff excellent Comfortable room Tea/coffee making facility
Not hair dryer Wifi only in the lounge area
Very helpful and cheerful staff. We had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. Thanks
Friendly welcome and very good public areas for a 2 star hotel Good breakfast Good value
The rooms were very small and in urgent need of refurbishment and some repair Instead of the booked 3 bed room we were given a double and a single which were not really connected as they common door was not lockable. These two rooms were particularly dingy with light switches etc not working.
no handrails in bathroom to help get in and out of bath
V good breakfast, nice friendly staff
Family room was not good with extremely creaky floor and claustrophobic en suite with shower that was either scalding or freezing
Location Staff Cleanliness
If there was a downside it would be decoration could do with an update.
My daughter and I had a very pleasant stay, the hotel was very clean and the staff very polite and friendly and the location of the hotel excellent.
Good to have car parking facilities, easy access to town and beach , friendly staff good breakfast.
The staff was very friendly and obliging. The breakfast was very fine indeed. Thee was evidence of effort to fix this old hotel up. The hotel was very near the beach and the old town of SHanklin but far enough back to be a quiet environment.
The rooms were cramped. There was a slightly musty smell. The bathroom was way too small. There was no place to put anything. You felt emmed in in the room and it was not a place where you would spend much time.his place needs a million or more pounds spent on it to bring it up to a good standard throughout.
Staff were extremely friendly and most welcoming. Breakfasts were excellent.
Shower was too weak! I enjoy a power shower!
i like the food the people were nice they were lots to do plenty place to eat and drink weather was ok i will go to marlborough hotel again
Bedroom had noisy floorboards very loud when moving round the room. Bare wooden flooring in entry hall and on stairs , did not give an inviting impression
Staff Professional & Friendly Location Breakfast Price Communal area & bar
Some areas could do with a bit of modernisation.
Location near to sea, town and old village In Shanklin - always a big plus! Breakfast buffet Warm welcome Family atmosphere Cleanliness Good size double room
All good single room bit small but guess that is average
Good parking Friendly staff Excellent cooked breakfast Comfortable room Easy to find
Private parking, was not rushed for breakfast, comfortable bed.able to walk to the chimes, shops and beach. Staff all friendly and very clean place. Would stay again.
If you are not a good walker, it's a bit of a walk to the beach and town.
Great value for money! Good room and bathroom sizes and fantastic breakfast
There was no blackout in the rooms, curtain too light. In summer time is hard to sleep after 6/7
Friendly staff. Breakfast maid was particularly helpful and efficient.
Adequate room Location Breakfast 5star Staff excellent Very pleasant atmosphere and for the prices Probably unbeatable Will stay again in the future
Nothing at this price A real bargain
Very cozy, small hotel, staff look after everyone very well, it's close to the sea and restaurants, really nice place, was worth to go! :)
