Excellent breakfast - helpful staff - No shower in bathroom - the roll top bath looked very nice but getting in and out can be tricky for older people! |

Very friendly staff and very efficient. Hotel is off a main road so was very quiet and our room had a nice balcony to relax on. Breakfast was tremendous and varied. This is not necessarily a dislike but we had a bathtub that had a hand held shower unit in it however it would have been less messy to use the shower unit if the bathtub had a shower curtain around it. |

Helpful and friendly staff.Very clean. Both tables we sat at in the breakfast room during our stay were unstable due to the uneven floor.It at least added to the fun of trying to keep my sausages on my plate ! |

We picked Marmadukes as we do not like modern hotels however please see our next comment Upon arrival there was limited staff we encountered the following problems, the safe didn't work I was able to go fetch one from another room!!! The toilet seat was broken, the tap was broken, the shower doors didn't close, the room was dusty. |

There's a great feel about the place with the period looking furniture and everything. This was my second stay and I have to say the front desk service is poor. I went in to ask if we could park earlier and go into town, which they gladly let us do, but I had to walk around the place and it was a good 5 minutes before somebody appeared. Maybe a buzzer/bell could be put in place? |

The rooms are lovely and kept very well. When checking into the hotel we were not told of any of the hotels facilities or what time or where breakfast was served. When checking out of the hotel we were told we needed to pay by cash or cheque and that we should have been told this on checking in due to the fact that the credit card machine was not working and they were waiting for a new machine. The customer service was a bit lacking. |

Beautiful, small hotel, run by very friendly staff, and we had the most enormous and delicious breakfast which was included! A friends bedroom was ridiculously hot, even when it was -1 outside, and they couldn't seem to change that. They had to have all the windows open, which seems ridiculous, and a big waste of energy. |

My partner felt the room had no atmosphere and that the furniture had been just dumped in the room without any thought. We had to call for another set of towels and for 176 pound the room wasnt really worth it.On checking out the card machine was not working. |
