The breakfast was amazing. The room was very clean and big.
Went on a busy day - the pool had a lot of children in so didn't get to experience the facilities fully.
Surroundings, parking, staff, room, view
Thinly staffed in the off season. Room service was largely unresponsive - likely due to the thin off-season staffing.
two double beds in room, lots of choice at breakfast, eggs cooked to order.
not being able to eat in restaurant, as full.
Excellent hotel, facilities and staff 9/10. In particular the receptionist and the waitresses who were friendly and very helpful.
The food in the restaurant was below average (the main priory restaurant). It was £21 for sirloin steak and chips which was below the standard of weatherspoons. The chips tasted like they had been cooked in 3 month old oil. Not impressed at all.
slightly in need of update and long corridors
A beautiful hotel in picturesque surroundings
Facilities were good. Liked the long time given for breakfast. My family enjoyed the chats and lovely food. Location and grounds were lovely.
Whilst it is a lovely setting for Weddings, the hotel tries to cram too many in. Bar was quite full at times with no places left for hotel guests. I saw that there was a conference room and if this is not used at weekends, may I suggest that this room is used for guests, giving them a quieter space for enjoying a drink. A member of staff could be assigned to this room to take and deliver orders. The bar will be then free for the Wedding party guests. Hope this helps.
I thought the leisure facilities were fantastic my husband and I took full advantage of the jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and pool which was available until 11pm nothing was too much for the staff, room service arrived in good time, choice of food was fabulous - catered to all tastes
I didn't realise that there was an incidentals charge I have stayed at hotels where there was not a charge however I fully understood why as there were dressing gowns and slippers available also food and drinks can be charged to the room so it makes sense from a buisness perspective
Breakfast - cooked to order omelette was heaven on a plate -really wonderful
Bath with mixer tap - shower head unusable by anyone over three feet tall - not acceptable at this price level. Double bed against the wall only suitable for single occupancy (story of my life :))
History of hotel - a priory and set in large beautiful grounds. Good standard of room and bed. Very good dinner in the dining room and tasty breakfast.
I wish I could have stayed longer. Will have to bring my wife back
Restaurant, staff, grounds and facilities are fantastic
Room clean and spacious. Bed was extremely comfortable. Stayed overnight after a wedding reception so didn't use all facilities available. Staff were polite and helpful at all times.
A pet sematary.
A miserable man (staff) in the priory restaurant.
Quality of staff - responsive, warm and efficient, reception and breakfast especially. Quality of food good, excellent choice at breakfast. Superb setting - our room overlooked the 18th hole - superb! Spa treatments very good. Quality of room - very comfortable.
-Gym and swimming pool were so lovely and of a high standard. -Lovely selection of breakfast items -Very good food portions, we couldn't finish our dinners they were so big. -Lovely feel to the hotel.
-Bedrooms were a little old fashioned but were very cosy -Breakfast was disorganised and rushed, despite the lack of guests. -Fruit flies covering the bar ceiling eek.
Setting and golf
Very poor service. Meal took 90 mins for starter to arrive, once we finished starter the bread arrived,. Main course arrived eventually and again veg arrived after we had finished. 3 hrs for a meal! Pricey bar. If you have mobility issues be careful because there are a lot of different levels and stairs. Overpriced for the service. Need more staff to provide the service you should receive. reported issues to reception on check out but not bothered.
Great facilities, would definitely stay again for longer this time and enjoyed breakfast in bed
£15 for 24 hrs Internet was ridiculous for such an expensive room (£139) Also quite a trek to find our room, lots of stairs not a problem for us but older people may want to be aware if this when booking a room
The food at breakfast was excellent.
We had a ripped armchair in our room which I didn't think was representative of a four star hotel.
Really loved the grounds around the hotel great staff really friendly and the leisure facilities were good value for money will be going back in future thank you
When we arrived we were givin our room and the layout was great it was like a detached part of the hotel called the mews there was a strong smell of damp but once we told the staff we were moved straight away so all was good there after
Setting Comfort Breakfast quality Gym was very good
Swimming pool area much too hot and air too full of chlorine to be bearable which was a shame as using the pool and gym was partly why we chose to stay.
Views, spa and gym, staff, location.
Parking poor, noise at night from loud guests from wedding reception kept us awake. Unfortunately had a screaming baby all night next to us to top it off.
Golf and leisure centre facilities.
evening meal service
The staff were pleasent
It was fast food and not very good
