We were visiting relations in Norwich and wanted to combine the visit with a high quality weekend away. Knowing the area and hotel, it was ideal.

The location. The decor is nice.

The restaurant - bread was frozen and defrosted at breakfast, found 2 hairs in baked beans. Bar staff were unable to make an Irish Coffee - was told "training day was tuesday" ! Not great service for such a big named hotel group. Shame - stayed there 15 years ago and it was so much better!

Ideal location both for Norwich and countryside. Good facilities, good, clean rooms and good restaurant.

Surprised to discover that with dinner vouchers the 1559 Restaurant works out cheaper than the more informal Zest Grill Restaurant

The hotels are always of a good overall standard.

They could not provide a twin room on the 1st night of our stay as booked through you which proved extremely inconvenient for a good nights sleep. We could have moved on the 2nd night but we did not want the disruption to our schedule. They did give us 50% discount on first night and 2 free bottles of wine with our supper (we had guests dining with us) and the Duty Manager could not have done more. They said that booking.com had not specified a twin room booking (this is not what you provided in the print out) As there was a professional golf competition happening during our stay we were unabe to play on their golf course (another reason for the original choice) and we were also unable to get a massage or a manicure for me in their health spa during on either the 1st or 2nd day of our stay.

The setting, the facilities and the friendliness of the staff.

Wasnt very impressed with the Zest restaurant. Could have been built with more character instead of feeling like you had walked into a Little Chef. The dining experience was limited and we expected more given this is not a cheap hotel.

Always a warm welcome here at the Sprowston and another relaxed an comfortable stay. The staff as usual were on the ball and effient without being officious. The recreation, gym and spa facilities are a must to visit and are probably the best offered int he Norwich area.

Only a minor but worth a mention some noise form guests leaving the bar by the fron of the hotel where my room was located, but I must say this was the first time I have experienced this when staying here and in future I would avoid or request a room on floor 1 facing the entrance of the hotel.

We liked the pool swimming and the size of our room. very comfortable. Thought the breakfast excellent. The staff were friendly. Handy for the park and ride into Norwich which meant we didn't have to move the car at all until we left.

The restaurant claimed to be fine dining and was fairly expensive but not I suppose true fine dining prices. The food was quite good but not excellent. No tablecloths.

The swimming pool was very good and can be used endlessly with kids whereas some other hotels can place a restriction on children use. The location was excellent in terms of getting about the area. No intrusion from other guests or staff.

It was stated that the restraurant had 2 AA rosettes. This must have been a while back, because we have sample similar food of this ranking and didn't compare. The food was average that didn't equate to the high price. We couldn't always get a booking in the main restaurant so tried out the cafe. Again the menu was priced high for the service and quality. The chicken breast ordered was small and very dry. We would've liked to have had pudding, but with the ambience and quality so far, we decided to leave it. Shame because this was the only fault of the hotel. Also, we asked for tea. Our usual experience was we would have a pot of tea and homebaked biscuits. We didn't get so much as a crumb from a prepacked selection and at a cost of nearly £4.00 per person - not good!!

To spend time with familiy in relaxing surroundings.

Choice on restaurant menu was limited and expensive.
