Staff were very polite and helpful
Main resturant was closed and room was in need of a revamp, especially the bathroom.
From a warm welcome offering pancakes to when we checked out we could not fault the customer service we received from the staff. They accommodated us in the restaurant but allowed us to choose from the bar menu and were very helpful when we needed their help at 1.30am. Swimming pool was lovely and food was good. Amazing choice for breakfast.
Good facilities, friendly staff, lovely bar and good food
The staff were excellent especially the concierge staff
Noise from the corridor outside our room room needed more sound proofing. Shower was poor not enough pressure, not a power shower! Bathroom door looked as though it had been hacked with a bread knife, at the bottom. Dust on the bedside lamp.
Could have done with another armchair in the room
Generally good stay - excellent breakfast
Booked double bed - given twin pushed together - not practical. Heard other guests complaining about same and appears to be common practice - no alternative offered. Advertises spa - has been removed
Service is very good, staff very polite. Superior room is very spacey. Breakfast is excellent. Spa is nice and mostly for free, you can work out or play golf. Location is good as long as you have a car. Excellent views to the landscape from the rooms. Generally a nice place to have a break. Room Tip: Don't take a room facing the parking, especially ground floor.
A bad smell in the bathroom, rather old decoration and no free wifi. The menu for dining in the hotel and for room service is rather limited. Pillows extremely soft, no support to the head, woke up with neck pain.
Being told when booking in,by the way we only have twin beds. We were given a free drink(wow)
Good hotel in a good location. Special thanks to the staff who were all very good. In particular Otto on the front desk couldn't do enough for us, he was excellent!
Warm welcome, beautiful surroundings, quiet at night, excellent bed. Great swimmingpool! Good breakfast.
We only stayed the one night, we did not miss anything. One thing:the smoking area is a disgrace, outside , it looks like a place where you store the bins. Why not a smokers room in the hotel, where you can sit and have a drink and a sigaret, there are still people around who enjoy that, it does not seen very nice to paying hotelguests.
Location was good and easy to find. Check-in efficient but impersonal.
Hotel is spread out and the corridors seem interminable. Service at dinner very poor. Got fed up of trying to catch waitress' eye, so after 25 mins or so, gave up on ordering dessert. Service at breakfast was deplorable. As we were eating staff hovered and pounced to remove empty glasses/crockery from the table. We were told b'fast is served until 10am. At a couple of minutes to 10 the head waitress told each table that if they wanted anything more to get it now because they were going to clear the food away. At 10.15 she went round again and asked us to leave although we could take our tea/coffee with us and finish it in our rooms. Totally disgusted.
plenty of car-parking, reception staff excellent, very nice superior room near reception, bar food very good.
service from the bar staff a little slow and inattentive - only a dozen people in the bar, yet had to keep reminding staff that I had ordered food and drink.
staff, the grounds. Clean rooms. The free Halloween punch was very nice. Breakfast was good.
the long walk to the room
- The staff @ the reception desk were wonderful, very helpful. -The receptionist gave us a free breakfast, she was great. - A lovely man offering waffles on arrival
- Awful food in the restaurant, very average pub food. We left before breakfast the next day before the food was so poor. - The spa is poor. Dirty changing rooms, a cold pool, no Jacuzzi - When I booked on Booking.Com I booked a double bed. On arrival we were given 2 twin beds that couldn't be changed.
Prohibitive cost of wifi, especially as basement rooms don't get very good vodafone signal. Cackling of housekeeping staff in the corridors at 7am on a day when you can have a lie in.
Could not accommodate my request for a double bed but not told until I checked in. I would not have stayed if I knew I had two singles "pushed together" very amateur
Everything was very good indeed.
My sister & I stayed at the hotel for her 40th birthday. On arrival there was a plate with sweets & raspberries with Happy Birthday written in chocolate which was a kind gesture. Our room was lovely with the most comfy of beds. The pool was warm & we both had a massage that was great. We were greeted at the restaurant by the maître de who was very nice & we had a lovely meal with a selection of desserts. Bar was quiet but there was a wedding on so think many of the guest staying were at that. Very enjoyable buffet breakfast & with a checkout of midday a very relaxing start to the day. Will return again soon.
There was nothing not to like, a most enjoyable stay. Thank you
Good breakfast, Hotel room is clean, beds are comfortable. Free upgrade from 2 single beds to 2 double beds.
Have to pay for WiFi in the room per minute.

The staff were all friendly and helpful.
The room we had (139) seemed like it was a mile hike from reception!
1. Excellent customer service 2. Friendliness of staff 3. Spaciousness of the bedroom 4. Cleanliness of the room 5. Size and comfort of the bed 6. Option to upgrade with a reasonable rate 7. Good choice of food at breakfast
1. Pillows were on uncomfortable to sleep on 2.Upgrade had only one bath robe and slippers
The whole experience service , food , breakfast
Aside from being a lovely room. My door didn't close AT ALL and I had to put the chain across and have a chair infront of it all night. My room was at the very end of the corridor and down two sets of stairs and after a long day I was so tired I did not wish to have the hassle of changing rooms. I was quite surprised as the Marriott brand is quite highly looked upon but I felt unsafe. And uncomfortable all night.
