Comfortable and relaxed
We were upgraded to the bridel suite which was very nice
Seemed very quiet
You were prepared to accommodate our needs after original misunderstanding. .
Radiator in room 41 not working (but you provided an electric radiator)
As above. From the receptionist who checked me in, to the bar and restaurant manager (who was a) very helpful and b) hilarious) and staff, and chef, they are some of the most helpful, accommodating hotel staff I have ever come across in donkeys' years of working and staying away from home. 5 star service without a doubt. Food was lovely, there is a really cosy, comfy bar setting, lovely restaurant, room cleaned to highest standards. Bed and room spacious and comfy.
Couldn't get wifi to work in my room (poor signal) but didn't really matter as I connected through my mobile dongle. Carpet was a bit stained in my room but undoubtedly scrupulously vacuumed every day.
Clearly booked a king size bed as evidenced from documentation, but only had a double bed. Was told the room we had was the one booked. I don't think so!
Good breakfast and self service rather than having to wait for it which is good as we needed to get going.
Bathroom needed better cleaning. From the loo you could see big cobwebs behind the radiator and that the extractor fan cover was very dusty. Skirting board near the loo was also grubby :-(
Shower poor in room 26.
Friendly staff. Just a mile from M4. Locality brilliant to visit our family. Good choice of food on breakfast menu.
Plumbing of toilet in room needed attention
Was given a room where the bathroom was in the roof space, so ceiling was low and pitched. Could not stand up in shower ! Hotel is meant to cater for business customers, but the room had no table at all to sit at. Toilet area was dirty. Had to place kettle on floor to reach socket. Breakfast cold and tough !
Reception staff very welcoming, food was great very good value for money. Room was clean, overall very good
Location, staff and general ambience
Last 2 stays have been noisy as a result of rooms being near kitchen. Last stay the radiator was broken so the room was boiling, room that i was moved to smelled of cooking. experience has put me off re-booking here.
Good Food, comfortable bed
bathroom needed attention, cracked sink, plug did not seal, extractor fan didn't work. No way of keeping the window open
Some of the paintwork on entry to rooms bit tired needs repainting
Staff - fantastic, helpful yet not overbearing - and the manager acted swiftly to correct our complaint about the room Food - great - dinner and breakfast
So-called "superior" Room - the bed was awful, the shower ran so slowly my wife couldn't wash her hair, a humming noise across the courtyard woke us early, the window catch was broken, the only place in the bathroom to store toiletries or towels was the little window-sill
The staff at reception on booking in were polite and helpful. Also staff at the restaurant at breakfast time were the same.
Radiator in the hallway was extremely hot and could not be turned down. Empty bottle in the bathroom and a card on the bed asking how did we do. Card had previously been filled in by guests in a different room. Cooked breakfast was luke warm and the restaurant also not very warm which meant the food was cold very quickly. On returning keys receptionst was ok but did not ask if how our visit was
location restaurant staff support
small rooms dated furnitures
Good restaurant quality
Being woken up at 4:30 by the water system! Slow service
eco friendly good parking just off motorway great choice at breakfast clean spacious ensuite free wi-fi
bed slightly firm restaurant looked excellent, though bit dear for me - but 2 good alternatives nearby
everthing from start to finish of our stay was first class
we only stayed one night
Value for money Easily accessible from M4 Good breakfast Helpful staff
Good breakfast sausages. Helpful reception staff.
Slow restaurant service. 10o'clock Sunday morning check out following the Saturday night party we had travelled to attend.
Good choice of food at breakfast.
Poor service at breakfast - not enough staff, tables not cleared, tea and coffee slow arriving, toast and marmalade had to be requested. Bed was very uncomfortable, thin mattress and only one pillow, each. Fixtures and fittings very tired as was the decor. Stained carpets and evidence of dust in bedroom. Needs updating!
Staff were friendly.
First room (21) on ground floor was so small that the bedside table had to be moved to open the wardrobe. Room had two very small windows, was stuffy and poorly appointed. Very noisy - the noise from other guest using the toilets and showers in upstairs rooms was really loud and it felt like you were in an aircraft hangar. Second room (24) on first floor was slightly bigger with a nice picture window overlooking farmland. Noise was much less intrusive although it has to be said that the whole building is very poorly insulated against noise. Shower had so little pressure that it was virtually useless. Breakfast was a buffet and was okay although there was no choice of eggs - fried, take it or leave it.
Close to M4. Ample parking
Breakfast service was exceptionally poor and the fabric on the chairs in the conservatory where breakfast was served was badly worn.
