Nice room, comfy bed, good breakfast

Evening meal average with very poor dessert menu (over complicated dishes), poor coffee, insufficient milk and sugar in room. Really bad wi-fi signal

When we first arrived, we a little put out by the attitude of the reception. Instead of "Hi can I be of assistance" all we got was, "Are you checking out, or booking in" After informing we had just arrived, were then, not taken, but given keys, and directions to an incorrect room, it was apparent we had been given the wrong room for it appeared to be of lesser value than the room that we understood we would have, as origionally booked on line. We complained, and the receptionst without doubt agreed there had been an error on her part, and was most apologetic. However, having unpacked, we had to (without offered assistance) moved our gear to the correct room which we found was fine. I would like to say that the tables in the Glasshouse Dining room are obviously coated with a cheap varnish, giving a sticky touch, even when wiped, and perhaps need to be covered with a tablecloth during mealtimes. My wife and I only had breakfast, but I must say this was first class and greatly enjoyed, the service we received from the only lady we were served by was excellent. Have stayed at th School House (Hook) several times, but thought this time we'd give Marsh Farm a whirl. Sorry, but a little disapointed! Bob Parks

The country side surroundings and the friendliness of the staff

Friendly and efficient staff, free parking, warm and comfortable room with lovely surroundings. We thought that the food was excellent and that we got value for money especially at the steak night.

We loved our stopover even though we only stayed one night. The only downside was that the shower didn't work properly and we could not report it as we were already wet!

Comfortable accomodation at reasonable price. Good dinner in nice resturant.

Quiet and conviently close to where I needed to be, goo price for what was offered. IT served and excellent breakfast

Mattress was far to soft in room 50 as I kept rolling into the middle of the bed. Also there was only a tiny 12" portable old style CRT television which quite frankly in this day and age is a joke.

It was very good value for bed and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A very quiet and peacful area ie no disturbance during the night.

We ate in the restaurant on the Friday eveining, set menu which we thought was good quality and tasting food. However, the portion sizes of the starter and main were very poor. Thankfully, the pudding made up for it.

Failure of 1 member of staff to do something asked for & agreed. Over heated dining room

The staff were extremely helpful. They were friendly and attentive. They were very considerate of special needs and, when asked, moved my mother downstairs to a larger room which made life much easier for her. They had special cards to place outside the door to indicate that special help was needed in case of a fire. The food was very good, breakfast and dinner.

I would have liked a slightly later breakfast on Saturday and would have liked some handcream in the room. But these were very minor points!!

Breakfast was great!
