Excellent pub across the road serving good food in clean surroundings and attentive staff
The hotel is dirty. Carpets in communal areas had not been vacuumed and our bathroom floor was filthy. Cleaner had obviously wet some toilet papery to wipe around edges leaving little sausages of tissue. Decor in hotel is tasteless. Double bed was 2 singles pushed together with ancient sprung matter eases.
Staff extremely helpful and friendly. I left some clothes behind and they kindly agreed to post them to me. Food was very good
bed was a bit too hard for my liking
Helpful, friendly staff.
State of bath ... not a refurbished room but, though really clean, the bath was well past 'use by date'
We have stayed here before and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The newly upgraded rooms are of a very high quality. ..
FOOD, Dirty Bath room bed room dirty could here people next door talking all night walls paper thin due to poor construction and isolation Plus over Prised
The night porter was good with a welcoming manner. Bar open good selection of drinks with the bar tender having a good understanding of the drinks. Parking is excellent.
Was not stocked up greatly ran out of egg when I got there. Wifi for the laptop never worked.
Staff were good. Toilet tissue was better than ours at home!
When we booked a room we did not realize that the competitive price was for a non-refurbished room. We would not have marketed such a room, as it did nothing for the hotel's reputation. Although the bedding was spotless, the floor had not seen a vacuum cleaner for some time. I appreciated the lift, as I find it difficult to climb the stairs. Retired hotelier.
Location was excellent for visiting friends. Hotel took into account my wife's limited mobility in allocating room. Breakfast and Sunday lunch were good, and Sunday lunch was excellent value.
Lack of extractor in bathroom. No glasses in bathroom. Bed was covered by just a sheet and cover, no duvet. Bit stingy with provision of teabags and milk in room. Noise from late night revellers when they left woke us up.
staff were excellent.
décor old, tired , greatly in need of upgrade and redecoration.
Great location,good breakfast.
In desperate need of a facelift
We have stayed here a few times over the last few years as we have family in Marton, so it is very convenient for us, the staff are friendly and the food in the restaurant is good.
Some of the rooms are very tired and in need of major refurbishment, the furniture is old and tatty, the carpets not fitted correctly and the bathroom needed ripping pout and starting again. We were in a twin room with barely room to walk round the beds, the window looked out into a an old and shabby courtyard area
Nothing, was awful, out dated.
Location, value for money, especially given that breakfast included.
Hotel looked jaded and needed a lot of money spending to bring it up to standard of say a Travelodge. Bathroom needed a refit, room lobby carpet in poor condition, bedroom itself had basic fittings, not well designed and layout could cause accidents, especially in middle of night.
In desperate need of decoration. And shower curtain was very mouldy and needed changing
Friendly staff Good food, well cooked, well presented.Reasonable wine cellar at reasonable prices. The room and the bed were clean and comfortable
I have known the hotel for over 30 years and stayed many times. In it's day it was the top hotel in the area. It is sadly in need of refurbishment. Refitting, new carpets, redecoration. The car park requires attention. The hair salon is now a junk room.
Good value. Location excellent. Town centre short drive. Stewart's Park ( birthplace of Captain Cook ) - 2 minute walk - is a treasure!
Needs a little TLC to bring it into the 21st century
Staff friendleness great breakfast
Room 214 Great room poor mattress on bed didn't sleep very well
The evening meal was awful
This is our second stay here, Marton Country Club offers excellent value for money and friendly staff
The staff where all friendly and helpful. The food good, well cooked and presented.
Location, comfort, meals
The on-suite needs a few items to finish it off: Toilet roll holder, shelf & glasses, extract fan. A short extension lead would enable easy plugging in for computer, battery changer etc - you have to move the desk to get at the socket!
The food at the was lovely.
The staff were of no help when we complaint about the shower that wasn't working with hot water. they were like who cares. the toilet didn't flash right and it all looked like it needed a good reramp.
breakfast very good
rooms could do with a good spruce up 1 blind lat missing no toilet roll holder
It had a lift to all floors and the dining room was nice. The hot water came out of time after only short time.
Paint flaking off, wallpaper peeling off walls, not hoovered under beds, en-suite facilities dirty and poor, smelled stale and damp and no where to get a snack during day.
Excellent food with generous helpings
Decor and facilities are somewhat shabby
