The hotel is a little dated is some areas, but we were shown renovated rooms that looked absolutely fab. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were helpful. The restaurant was lovely. The pillows. We used the smoking rooms and they are a little dated. The pillows may be better in the other rooms. Bar areas could be improved but I am sure they will be thinking about that.

the staff were friendly and the breakfasts were ok . there is a lively pub opposite that did nice meals and it was in the right location for our use. it seemed popular with tribute nights etc it is very dated it needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to date. our room was passable but the curtains were falling down room 219. Our daughters room 201 was a disgrace the ceiling needed repairing and the room looked as though it had been patched and painted with all the left over decorating materials, both rooms need modern up to date furniture . previously stated old and dated The grass verges had not been cut in the car park First impressions !!

Pleasant staff. Very good breakfast included in price. Room had locked connecting door to next room, this meant noise from couple next door was very loud. Everything could be heard, unfortunately not quiet neighbours so had little sleep.

The Staff were as helpful as could be.The restaurant area was pleasant on the eye and functional. The food was well cooked using good produce with the breakfast being very good. The first impression of chipped paintwork and rotting window frames was only too sadly confirmed by the delapitated state of the rooms and particularly the bathrooms. The staff try to make them tolerable but are fighting a losing battle.

The room was dilapidated and neglected with torn and peeling wallpaper and the curtains had very few hooks so difficult to close. The shower was a rubber tubing affair that I last saw in the 60s and they didnt work then either! The electric sockets were very suspicious and the fire escape instructions were inaccurate. We were told to use phone to contact reception but no phone in the room. It was very noisy during the night as there had been a disco in the hotel and guests were noisy returning to their rooms. Generally a disastrous stay and we will not be using this hotel again

Room was clean and spacious. We wished we could have had more time to spend in the room, it was very pleasant. Staff all very friendly. The only issue I would have is that as I have Coeliac disease I have to be on a strict Wheat/Gluten free diet. There was no bread at breakfast time for me and I noticed the waitress tipped bacon and sausages together in the same serving metal trays, which of course means the bacon is then contaminated with the sausages that I am unable to eat therefore no bacon for me either!!

Leaving The general unkempt feel to the place. The wallpaper hanging off the walls in the ensuite bathroom. The holes in the carpet.

The staff were friendly and the food was good. The management do not seem to care about the appearance of the hotel. Despite the 'upgrade' of the bathrooms everything else is shabby, tired looking and worn - quite depressing. The use of the dining room as a main through route for staff and couriers disturbed our breakfast each morning - another management problem!
