Wi-Fi was non-existent despite advertising it was available. Bar menu lacks imagination and could do with an update.
Sky TV Wifi The bed Great breakfast
the layout of the hotel. Food was good Staff friendly and I understood them . Loved the chickens and the use of own honey in menu ! Loved the zoo next door
the room below had a mobile alarm on at 3 am and I don't sleep well anyway so bit of a disaster !
Friendly staff and nice location
Decor of rooms a bit dated and bed way to soft.
choice of menu wasn't great
The hotel in it's beginnings must have been delightful to stay at, with such lovely natural surroundings.
Currently the hotel seems unloved, uncared for, with little thought for the real needs of people with disabilities. It is out-dated, shabby, and some of the service was appalling at breakfast.
Very clean and tidy, excellent service, great food, friendly, welcoming staff. Peaceful and quiet. I could not fault this gem in the Hampshire countryside. I would thoroughly recommend and would definitely stay again..!
Location, comfort of bed and size of room. Swimming pool.
Service in restaurant poor (one starter wrong, no butter or milk at breakfast) and 2 hours to get milk to our room. Plus 45 minutes after paying bill in full, received phone call telling us we had not paid our bill despite having a receipt. Hotel mistake, feeble apology - made us feel angry. Smarten up!
Lots of local amenities great staff and lovely location! Great pre-wedding treat! What a great night! Xxx
Kind Staff, nice views into the forest
Could do with some renovations and too expensive for what it offers
I like the friendliness of staff at reception, behind the bar and in the restaurant. I do stay quite often and am always made to feel welcome
The bathrooms can be a little outdated and (on occasion) grubby-looking. But overall, I'm always quite comfortable there
Great location opposite Marwell Zoo. Friendly staff.
Quality of room appalling for rate charged. Worn carpets, unclean and massively in need of an investment. Superior rooms are available but at an extra charge. Beware as these rooms are the basic quality you would expect from a standard room. Very disappointing as the hotel is in a prime location and could be really excellent.
Room was rather small,,
indoor swimming pool
my booking was made months ago for a twin room with garden view but I got neither. our visit was spoilt due to a wedding at hotel guests everywhere. noisy at night waking us. visit ruined.
Rooms were very dated and in need of some upgrading. Bathroom was awful.
Set in a very nice place excellent bar dining and function rooms parking was good close to the motorway and Zoo
No mirror over dressing table to assist ladies doing thier hair and make up good hair dryer (morrow) no Room was very hot due to heated towel rail and lack of ventilation Chairs not at all comfortable change settee or add back cushions
Location was good for tourist attractions. Close to relations for visiting purposes. Service was good and a very reasonable tray charge for meals in your room.
Bathrooms are in badly need of updating, shower continually dripped and not much power
Gym and sauna
Poor quality rooms, outdated furniture, bathroom not clean, high price
The corridors connecting the reception to the sleeping areas were unheatied. Limited bar & restaurant menus.
The peaceful location in the trees but still close enough to the main road not to be off the beaten track.
The noisey children in the spa area.
Peaceful location, try to enjoy the woodland setting when there is daylight.
Bed was rather hard.
location, decor, size and quality of room, all teh facilities, hotel design, breakfast, satff - really very impressed
Individual design. Location. Value. Quantity of breakfast.
Bathroom needs updating. Meals expensive given local competition. Would have preferred waiter service at breakfast
Fantastic menu choices at the evening meal and range of choice at breakfast.
It would be great if the 'watch tower' was renovated.
The unusual layout and "lodge" feel to the place.
The rooms look rather tired and could do with some upgrading.
