The staff were really incredible. I really enjoyed the area and setting of the hotel
The pool and spa pool were cold. Despite asking for the sauna to be turned on after one of the reception girls came to turn it on it still didn't work. Another gust said the same happened last time she was there. I was really disappointed as we booked the hotel specifically for that. The 'gym ' really needs to improve too!!
Fantastic Food, will be back to eat there again. Facilities are very good.
Nothing, everything was very good.
Rooms Breakfast Staff generally pleasant Liked the phone call to confirm booking and requirements
Room was a bit hot in late summer and difficult to cool down
We really enjoyed our stay, room was lovely & staff were helpful. Excellent if you are going to the zoo since it's less than a minute away. Breakfast was worth paying the extra for when booking.
Fire alarm was set off by an inconciderate smoker at 230a.m. but not the staffs fault.
Excellent staff very attentive and helpfull. Location good Nice quiet rooms
Not being able to get food after 9.00
Location Staff Restaurant (particularly good chef)
Cleanliness of bathroom which wasn't rectified despite asking twice. The odour was like a public toilet and eventually revealed itself to be an unidentified brown stain in the floor tile grouting. Also, being picky here, some of the fixtures and fittings in room 209 were in need of attention and this room was generally a little long in the tooth.
Friendly Staff, Good food, Lovely and clean and a great location.
location. friendly staff. nice room.
dirty balcony, lots of spider webs, unfit to sit out on. Dirt around window sills when open. fire alarm going off early hours of the morning. Asked twice for breakfast room service card, never received it. Appears company does not want to spend money on the little things that make all the difference, which is a shame as could be a excellent hotel.
I liked the unusual character of the hotel.
The restuarant choice was a bit limited and expensive. Phone signal and wifi poor
Good buffet breakfast Quiet location with ample parking Comfortable beds Unusual and rather unique hotel layout
Rooms are a bit dated and would benefit from refurbishment, especially the bathrooms and the showers. Unable to accommodate request for early check in
Well trained staff - friendly Excellent breakfast service and choice Relaxing environment and good links to Southampton and Winchester
Basic gym facility - just two running machines in very small room. No shower facility within changing room by pool Poor mobile telephone reception
The design and layout of the hotel meant the bedrooms were in a quiet area. The staff were very helpful.
Nearness to the zoo-right on the zoos doorstep
Loud nondescript music at reception so cd not hear what was said; water from bath was constantly running; no choice for brown/white bread at breakfast; no butter on table; no loose sugar for cereals.
The food in the restaurant was okay but we found it quite expensive
The hotel is very different in the fact that is designed to have the feel of a jungle hotel and t is a good replica ,open windows and lots of wood , very comfortable and recommended , advise is to stay a couple of days to enjoy the Zoo.
not a lot to dislike
Bigger and busier than I was expecting (loads of children).... but not a problem (just a slight disappointment)
Super staff - friendly receptionists, attentive waiting staff in bar & restaurant Excellent restaurant - beyond what I would expect (and normally get) when staying on business
Nothing - it was lovely, I'd go again if business takes me that way
This hotel is in a tranquel location adjacent to Marwell Zoo. Set in Woodland, with rooms within blocks of Alpine style buildings. Nice pool and leisure facilities - a bonus.
The exterior of the buildings could do with a spruce up, but querkiness of the hotel design makes this characterfull.
Poor shower Air conditioning would be an improvement.
Lovely friendly staff. Comfortable spacious room and very clean. Beautiful location. Have already stayed once before. Lovely food!!!
The only thing I would like to say the menu choice is very limited if you are a vegetarian. I only had one choice on the lounge menu as I do not eat fish. However it was very nice. I had no choice in the restaurant as I do not like tofu. I do feel extra vegetarian options are needed.
Good access and parking. Generally a good atmosphere, if not busy. Good restaurant for evening meal
The weekend 30th / 31st August 2014 was very busy, wedding discos in the evening etc. I had to request a change of bed linen ( Blood stains found on the sheets ). The breakfast was not very hot ) The Boddingtons beer was a bit below standard this time. I would, however, return for further stays.
evening meals in the restaurant were excellent and also in the bar. good service and good food with cozy surroundings was a lovely stay. nice pool and sauna and breakfast had a good choice of food and the location of the zoo was superb as only a 2min walk away.
The beds were very comfortable. The buffet breakfast good. Bathroom very well presented
The layout is a bit quirky and common areas (particularly hallways) were a bit "tired"
