For the money we paid cant fault the mary rose. Got there, drank, slept, left. Cant fault it.
Did not stay long enough to have any dislikes.
Breakfast was good
Rooms too hot. Shower was too hot or too cold. Beds falling apart. Toilets smelt. Room filthy.
It was filthy and disgusting. Staff unhelpful, damp in room. Carpets stained and had holes in it. Toilets smelly and full of flies in the bar area. No hot water
nothing awful place
filthy place (net curtains black)
Bed was comfortable enough and got a good night's sleep
One of the rooms booked was very small, smelt of smoke and was not particularly clean. Although we knew about shared toilet there was no hot water available in the sink and the shower was a lot to be desired! One of the rooms did not have a kettle to make the refreshments provided.
nothing about this hotel is likeable
the staff were rude to customers. The bar was unstocked. The rooms were below basic and unclean. The reception was full of staff who looked like they were in a youth club wearing shell suits. i would rather stay in a cardboard box in the middle of a dump.
the night porter ,monday morn 20/ 10,the lady who cooked was very good and helpfull and as was the domestic staff
bed, room ,filthy dirty, restaurant not open when required .manager very poor communication ,unable to understand what was required for guests !!
The price was relatively low and it appeared the hotel was under new management. Sheets were clean.
General state of hotel was poor, it was apparent the hotel had changed hands as old key card locks on bedroom door had been replaced by Yale locks halfway up. Bathroom had mildew and wallpaper was peeling.
The breakfast was ok, cheap cereal and sausages but the lady who cooked the breakfast was very pleasant and did a good job under the circumstances.
The place was extremely dirty. There is no way we would return.
Everything else: No smoke alarms Old beds Stench of smoke in the rooms Forced doors Broken light fittings Mouldy showers
It was very cheap at just £15 for a bed in a shared dorm.
It is old and in need of renovation but that's what I would expect from a budget hotel such as this.
Very friendly staff at the reception desk.
TV did not work properly, channels not working, remote not working Heater wasn't working at all Noise from, adjacent rooms could easily be heard. Don't expect too much from a budget hotel.
cheap room and bar was ok
Where should i start, firstly parking is on a side street, the reception was not that clean, the room had holes in the carpet and the shower was very grubby, but as for the breakfast, the dining room was disgusting, it had take-away containers and other rubbish (enough to fill 3 bin liners) piled up beside the table where we had to cook our own toast, plus the bread was stale, the bacon was greasy and cold (what there was of it), no mushrooms/ black pudding/hash browns etc the cheapest sausage (maybe 3% meat) and budget nasty beans reheated in a microwave with a very loud 'ting'. In my opinion, save your money and go to mcd's up the road
Mould in bathroom, very dirty and smelly place.
didn't sleep well on the first night as bed spring was coming through had to beg for it to be covered, the whole place was dirty, room wasn't cleaned, empty bin only, no window locks, and very thin curtains felt unsafe, latch on door broken, the shared bathroom only had 1 floor towel which was wet most of the time, wasp were persistently entering the room don't know where they were coming from could have been a nest.
I didn't have hot water to clean my children, food wasn't nice, laid out to help ourself, but using an old toaster and old kettle, 30 people all at once. Mould, dirt in rooms. I cried a lot and was very distressed.
Third time stayed. Good value for money if you just need a bed for the night in that part of London. Also good this time if you wanted breakfast with a room fool of asylum seekers..!!!!
The usual confusion in the provision of breakfast... no glasses foe juice, no marmalade/jam,all produced when asked for, but why should we have to, and a toaster with a mind of it's own.
Dirty room - nobody even sweep floor, dirty kitchen - not possible to use, dirty bathroom.
just the location
The hotel is really dirty. We got into our rooms and could see that the room was not cleaned properly. Further, the hotel is really damaged, carpet smells of moulding. i had to leave before because my asthma was tricking there. horrible
Concierge was friendly The bed-linen was clean
a lot of mould in the shower and the whole bathroom, a lot of mould on the curtains, very worn and dirty carpet and bedding box, in the breakfast space table cover to the table nailed and not clean
Convinient location, staff good .
No hot water in toilet hence been to used other room's toilet for shower. - Electric shower was out of order
Dirty room, badly stained blinds on windows thick with dampness , bathroom floor badly stained with large black dampness stains laminate floor very spongy to walk on we had 3 rooms others had showers tiles thick with black damp not just a little had not been cleaned for goodness knows how long. Our room still had all the dirty towels from previous customer still in bathroom even after we reported this we were still left with a dirty hand towel hanging on the radiator. Bathroom light fitting was a living room one not for a bathroom only 1 light bulb all others not working I could go on about the electrics but wont bore you all . Other 2 rooms had no electric working Manager was not interested when we told her she just kept working on her computer not what you would expect. I have told them I am getting in touch with Orpington council as this place should be closed down until it is sorted out we were staying in the chalet rooms in the court yard
Was in an okay location to near by shops and restaurants. The building was 400 years old so lovely features. The bar man was very nice also. For 30 a night per room you get what you pay for but would of been nice if it was clean. It the place to stay if you need to stay some where for one night and just a bed to sleep.
It was not very clean the sharde bathroom was awful I dont think it has ever seen bleach. The rooms were smelly, beds not great, rooms were damp and there was some mould on the beams of the ceilings. Was in a run down area. It neeeds some serious TLC. It would be a beautiful place to stay if there was removations done, paint work, structural work and a serious clean. and would of been nice if the tv was not black and white, ot didnt have a fork in the cabel to make it work. You walk in and the place is dark, brighten it up it would be so much nicer. With the lovely traditional old features would make a beautiful place to stay just needs work doing to it.
location to where we needed to be
decor is in real need of doing large damp areas on ceiling carpets need replacing water through ceiling when upstairs use the shower
Bugs on the bed, filthy shower room, rock hard thin mattress on a piece of chipboard, dirty windows needless to say I would not stay there again. infact I would not let my dog stay there!!
