Score from 130 reviews Wonderful
Room was crampled. Beds were not made up, no fresh linen. Smelt of something rotten. Shower Room was filthy, floor was not only wet, but had water coming up through the floor.
There was nothing positive to say about this hotel except maybe that it was cheap.
The room was extremely filthy and had clearly not been cleaned in a very long time. There was dirt on the floors, mildew on the curtains and on the floor and walls in the bathroom. The furniture was broken and filled with stains of varying kinds including blood stains on the bathroom cupboard, where a used toothpick with used dental floss had been left fo us.
everywhere needed a good clean.Every floorboard creaked. Wake up call before 6am every morning with doors slamming and floorboards overhead creaking No hot water
Poor hygiene dirty shower dirty toilet, no hot water and one light bulb out of three working, half of blinds missing and the curtains to draw over the blinds were dirty stains on them, radiators did not work, there was an electric heater which was all rusty, mildew on wall and bad condensation, dirty carpet, changed after two rooms then it just got worse, I ended up with bed bugs after three days will not recommend this hotel to my dog, I could go on, all carpet and furniture is out dated, wallpaper hanging off, the ceilings all cracked not painted at all.
Graby, no hot water Needs redecorating badly Too small Tv Didn't feel secure-no locks on door
It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed. It's not worth the title of hotel. More like hell hole.
The view when leaving.
I didnt like anything about this hotel. I have stayed in hotels up and down the country budget and expensive. The room was stinking of smoke. The bathroom wasnt cleaned in months breakfast was minging. We would have left straight away if our 2 children werent knackered. Holes in room ceiling and corner tape hanging out of wall. Do not book.
Location close to shops - room clean and fairly comfortable
No hot water in Bathroom and no milk sachets with coffee/tea/sugar.
Wifi was the only good thing about this hotel.
Firstly when myself and my family arrived I was told that no booking was made! Had to pay an extra £10 for my 1 year old daughter. Staff was very rude. Coffee/tea facilities (there wasn't any) Kettle was full of lime scale. Bathroom was mouldy. Bed quilt was stained. The whole place needs to be fumigated. Worst place I've ever had to stay in!
The Rooms are very basic and outdated,Poor stock of drinks at the bar
Absolutely no redeeming features at all.
The room was disgustingly filthy, had a broken window, dirty pint glasses on the floor, sick on the carpet and on the wall behind the bed, mouldy and black with dirt, torn net curtains, shower was so bad and broken none of us used it, literally tens of 100's of cigarette ends everywhere. Broken, unusable chest of drawers, no wardrobe, I could go on. Staff showed no interest or care at all and were rude and unhelpful when complaint made. Shut it down!
It was filthy, mould every where, cups still had old tea stains, curtains only held up by dirt, open electric sockets! I would'nt even shower a pig in the cubical thick black mould! Smelt foul, damp musty pure 100% filth, 1 tiny milk between 2 lol, the said cups were found on loo, no water from hot tap! Absolutely disgusting.disgrace to humanity
Interesting place, booked 2 rooms for 1 night as going to brands hatch. Arrived in the dark & checked in . 1 room was above the bar , the other in the 'courtyard' at the rear. Huge courtyard room smelled strongly of 'cigarette' smoke, poorly furnished with items that looked like they had come from the local tip. En suite was covered in mildew, no hot water, shower worked but dare'nt step in it naked. Teabags sugar & spoons but no cups or kettle! Curtains didnt meet the walls, altogether quite repulsive. Other room was a lot smaller& very noisy. Same style of furnishings but with extention lead hanging 1/2 way up the wall to connect the tv & some one had p####d in the sink! Breakfast was cold greasy& inedible, altogether an experiance never to be repeated dont go there.....ever!!
The bed was clean and comfortable
Breakfast.the sink in the room was blocked .tv didn't work. Rooms were grubby.
Frindly and helpful stuff. Quite. Big bathroom with bathtub
The carpets were dirty (iron marks), the beds weren't very comfortable. The staff were never really happy. Went for a drink to sit down at a dirty table (not cleared) The room was cold, we slept in our clothes because of this. There was only one plug socket so couldn't plug the tv and the radiator in at the same time. Bathroom was disgusting and not clean, there also wasn't a plug for the bath. Very poor.
Ideal location for our purpose
Shower enclosure was dirty no running hot water broken bed nearly missed breakfast as they cleared away before time we were given wasnt happy with stay
Easy to find. 15-20 mins from Brands Hatch race circuit. Polite staff.
Overflowing bins in breakfast area. poor breakfast. dirty bathroom.
beds really uncomfortable 2 flat pillows so got neck ache our room was over the kitchen and the dishwasher was put on about 12 midnight so very noisey for about 2 hrs plus we had a room next to main road so got woken up from 6.30 am by traffic so got all of about 4-5 hrs sleep will not be going here again
Dirty, smells of damp, needed to wear shoes in room as carpet was so stained/dirty, black damp patches in bathrooms, dirty curtains, most doors did not fit, windows single glazed poor fit therefore noisy, mattress had spring sticking up so slept on top of quilt fully clothed to keep warm, No hot water nothing come out just air, shower broken, security door sticks open, did not feel car was secure as local kids gather outside betting shop opposite, appalling place, never again.
Leaving the hotel, pavement was cleaner to sleep on.
Dark and dingey hotel staff just brush off complaints no lights in upstairs landing missing slates on stairs low beams with no warning signs fire extinguishers out of date smoke derectors do not work walls caked in tar from smokers in a non smoking property. Dust hanging from cealing stains on walls, door frames and headboards cups chipped full of dust and human hair rubbish under all the beds bed frames which are near to collapsee pipe work caked in dust bath stained with black marks Taps rusty Mould on cealing in bathroom old tiolet roll left in bathroom mirrors filthy wardrobe which falls over small old tv for a treble room. beer and cider tastes off, badly stocked bar. electrical items have no valid safety test snagged carpets trip risk. Car park poorly lit and full of pot holes. lots of hooded figures hanging around outside. Lots of noise all night. staff just pretend they don't understand when anyone complains.
Clean sheets and towels
Mould on the wall, threadbare carpets, spongy floors in bathroom (water damaged flooring?), abrupt manner of reception staff, poor state of decoration and repair. Would do well to have a major overhaul - a fire would help tremendously as none of the hotel would remain, a full rebuild then being the only option! What was a decent hotel a few years ago has been destroyed.
Staff were helpful
Everything !!!! Dirty Broken Noisy
For the money we paid cant fault the mary rose. Got there, drank, slept, left. Cant fault it.
