Comfortable lounge, spacious bedroom, Pleasant Central Garden
The walk from the main building around the central garden under the Loggia to the bedroom was a bit chilly on a January night. I have had more generous breakfasts.
The feeling of luxury and history all in one. There is ample parking and friendly and helpful staff.
Log fires, comfort of public areas, very festive very welcoming.
Better finish with detailed finish on room decoration ie bath edging. Trays left outside doors from room service, although it was Christmas
Very comfortable. Staff excellent, well trained and friendly
Room was well appointed - excellent bathroom. Breakfast and staff at breakfast were also excellent. Despite the festive season - had a very good night's sleep. Ideal for visiting family in Essex
Loose headboard which knocked with the slightest movement and that's all>
The ambience and comfort of the hotel is always pleasant. We have been coming to your hotel for at least 30 years and have always been pleased.
The attitude on our last visit regarding breakfast. We were unaware that breakfast stopped at 9.30 and we arrived a few minutes late. We were told that breakfast was finished. We asked for a continental breakfast and they said everything had gone. The attitude was as if they didn't really care. Very disappointing! We stay at your hotel quite often and also have had many events with you over the years.
Perfect place for business or pleasure. Everything is what you would expect, clean, comfortable, friendly. The restaurant is excellent and good value. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Mary Manor Hotel and will definitely be coming back
The rooms were clean spacious. The staff were friendly and helpfull.
The whole hotel was great !! Surroundings, staff, level of service, all really good, will stay again !!
Cant think of anything !!
Location with ample parking friendly knowledgeable staff
food and drink a bit pricey but well prepared and served
I had £60 used as a tab. I did this in good faith. It was not explained to me that I would not get it put back the next day when I was leaving. I was then told at reception that it might take a good week to put it back in my account. I did think £60 was rather a lot of money but did not say anything as I thought it would go back straight away. My husband and I are pensioners and really not happy about all this. It spoilt our stay a little as everything else was perfect.
The food was excellent especially the afternoon tea
The service as in addressing problems. Room was excellent and comftable.
Pillows to flat.
Having read that the hotel runs themed "Faulty Towers" evenings we were disappointed our trip did not coincide with such hilarity. However we were not to be disappointed when it ensued that the hotel really was Faulty Towers! With the dated decor and the folding bed I really felt as though I'd been transported back to the 70's.....along with the fusty smell in the room! The staff were polite but weren't able to respond to simple questions such as...."Can I borrow a brolly to get to my car?". The concierge needed to explain to the receptionist I wanted an umbrella! There were leaks and drips in the lounge/conservatory and the bar snacks/drinks were extremely expensive. I would only recommend a stay if you have a good sense of humour and it's no more than one night....any more then don't bother! We definitely won't be returning!
Olde worlde charm
Feeble shower with a temperature hard to control.
distance .room to main hotel
Traditional surroundings with knowledgeable efficient staff Good ambience
The cost of the evening meal and wines were rather high
the room and facility's where excellent except for see red
the cost of a meal, and the all you can eat on the other side of the road for 4.99 compared to the manor set menu £14.00 Brocken sharp tiles around the bath.
Breakfast and dinner are not what one could expect in a 4 star hotel. The breakfast buffet was very poor; an Ibis hotel does better
Bed was a bit soft but quite comfortable. Room was a good size but could have benefited from having a small fridge. .
Food in the restaurant was too posh and the staff there were quite stuffy. Bar man was nice though.Breakfast was very good, but still the same staff ! Do they work 24 hour shifts?
Having to slam the room doors to shut them and therefore being woken up.
Nice ambience and comfort plus friendly staff.
No wifi in room
Very comfortable room, although dark. We arrived during a wedding reception on the lawn by our room so there was a good atmosphere but no champagne for us unfortunately!
Breakfast service was frenetic and the frantic and exhausted-looking staff did not help. They all seemed to be tryng to do each other's jobs and it was chaotic. (It was the morning after a wedding but they should be used to that.)
We have stayed at Mary Green several times as we have friends living nearby. We also held our wedding there 2 years ago. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. Rooms are spacious and clean and beds very comfortable. Our wedding was a fantastic day made extra special by the staff, nothing was too much trouble and the food brilliant for a 100 guests. The wedding packages are good value. Also recommend their dinner menu.
Haven't got any complaints or faults with Mary Green.
