Lovely friendly hosts. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable bed. Great value. Clean room.

I liked the location - quiet and handy for the budget "uphill area" and my room had a beautiful view. It's only about a 10 minute walk to the Castle & Cathedral. Good to have free parking too. Very friendly owners with lots of supporting leaflets with suggestions for things to do if you don't know Lincoln very well.

One REALLY MINOR disappointment: The breakfast Lincolnshire sausage was only a chipolata...! (Otherwise a nice breakfast in general...)

We have chosen the Mayfield due to its good location within walking distance of historic Lincoln. We were not disappointed with our choice. Wonderful personalised hospitality received from the dedicated couple, David and Sue. They function as a excellent team together, each with specific areas of dedication within the guest house. One could sense their passion for what they have started some years ago: a love for people and an interest in their enjoyment of their environment. The four bedrooms are individually furnished, each to cater for a different combination of customers. Well-equipped bathrooms with showers and fresh linen daily, if required. Breakfast was in good typical English tradition with all the necessities. Having travelled to some 100 countries already, I can absolutely recommend this as an a+ establishment to stay in the English countryside of Lincolnshire.

The room was spacious, light and clean, with a fantastic view. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location was exactly as expected and close enough to the centre.

The staff were really friendly and helpful and accommodating, waiting for my late arrival. The tea and coffee facilities were welcome as I had to leave too early for breakfast

The room was slightly outdated and could have been cleaner. Bathroom was a bit of a squeeze.

A very pleasant welcome upon arrival. My wife has diatary needs, sue delt with this with no hessitation. We will both use this accomodation again in the future, and definately recommend to friends and family. A short walk into Lincoln town centre.
