Proximity to the old centre of Lincoln was good, with many eating places close by within walking distance. Breakfast good. Decor was rather tired and old fashioned and hotel grounds/gardens left untended, not enhancing visitor attraction. Car parking could be difficult if the house is full. |

Free car parking. The double room at the front of the house has a beautiful view. The house was a little old fashioned, but in keeping with its age. and came complete with squeaky floorboards! The breakfast was good and made to order. The owners are very friendly and helpful as were some of the guests who seemed to be regulars. 10 to 15 minutes walk from the historic part of Lincoln is ideal to see the city. Car park is tight for 3 cars, on a slope, but not a real problem. Squeaky floorboards in the bedroom. Towels were too small. |

Excellently placed for Cathedral and Castle. A bit old-fashioned and could have been dusted. |

Just stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time. David and his wife were wonderful hosts very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and only a short stroll from cathedral and the castle. Lincoln is a fantastic town and well worth a visit. We will be returning as didn't get chance to tour cathedral but we will be staying here once more thankyou. Kevin and Alex from Hull |

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned to a high standard, we had a lovely view from the window and the bed was comfy. Had a great nights sleep and breakfast was great. We asked for breakfast half an hour before the 'normal time' as we had to leave for other commitments and staff were more than happy to help. Thank you :) There was ample parking but for bigger vehicles it would be a bit tricky to get into the spaces. |

The proprietors were most welcoming, as they had been on the telephone, the twin room was pleasant and comfortable, the breakfast good and the location peaceful and airy with good views, yet well placed for the attractions of Lincoln an interesting walk away. We hope to return. |

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. The room was spacious and comfortable and the view from the windows was remarkable. I did not attempt to eat the full breakfast but the food was plentiful and well prepared. |

The staff were some of the friendliest people I've ever met! The room was gigantic for the price! The tea kettle needs a serious cleaning with vinegar in order to remove the limescale buildup... |

1. The instructions on the internet telling us how to find Mayfield were the best I've ever had. We drove straight there without a hitch, a miracle in a town which is a bit of a nightmare. 2. The Manager was most friendly and gave us all sorts of information about the city to help us on our way. 3. The other guests were also very pleasant. 4. The atmosphere and running of the Guest House conformed exactly to the description given in the brochure. |

We could walk to the castle, cathedral, museum, restaurants & grocers, friendly and helpful proprietors, good breakfast. We booked an additional night on our return and got the room with a view which was bigger and just as quiet as the twin room which actually had a twin and a double bed. Could be tricky to find the place if you come into Lincoln by train and take the city bus to the hotel. Get off at the Burton Road roundabout. |

The food was excellent and the rooms were clean and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was too early at the weekend especially on a Sunday you want a later breakfast. |

A friendly bed and breakfast that was very comfortable and clean. The free internet was a bonus, and the breakfast was great. It is very close to Lincoln Castle and the oth tourist sights, however unless you knew Lincoln well you would need a taxi to get from the train station. |

Proprietors were friendly & helpful, room was clean with tea & coffee provided. Breakfast was excellent. Walking distance from Cathedral & city centre. General decor a bit tired, could do with refurbishment. Off road parking difficult, but manageable with proprietor's help. |
