Good breakfast, plenty of choice. Good selection of evening meals all cooked and presented very well. Our room was warm and comfortable. Lovely views from the hotel.
Everything!!!! Loved the hotel decor our room had great views, food in bar and restaurant was fantastic, staff were very pleasent and efficient, will go back for sure .
Everything about this hotel is perfect. All the staff are very pleasant, polite and very professional. We had a lovely 2 night stay here, and would highly recommend The Maynard. Enjoy!
not one complaint, absolute perfection :o)
Fantastic scenery Secluded Lovely food Comfortable night stay
That I couldn't stay there longer :) No faults
The hotel is
The bar area too bright cold and cafeteria feel. Dogs welcome so suitable for doggy people. However they do have another area for diners. Dinner disappointment. Minimal starters at high price, dodgy lone crab ravioli. Unsavoury starters, flavourless. Scallop not king and lost on plate poor, mascarading should wear masks with the gloves. Would not have dinner again .watched an unsmiling couple chisel through lambless shanks.
Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Hotel was clean and the room was amazing, even our two pooches loved it! :) food was outstanding and of course the views. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family and maybe one day go back ourselves! :)
That we had to leave. :(
Friendliness of staff, quality of rooms, breakfast
Excellent quality of the restaurant food. Appreciated the veggie option and the presentation of the food.
Limited amount of croissants and pain au chocolate on the breakfast buffet!
I liked the fact that the staff were very helpful. The room very spacious with every you need. Also the scenary which surrounds it was beautiful.
Staff friendliness, efficiency and the walking guides provided at reception. Decent beer and a varied menu, all at a reasonable price
Hotel was a bit noisy once we had gone back to our room - walls and floors seemed a bit thin so noise was transmitted through to our room
Quiet rural location Large room Comfortable bed Bath as well as a shower Decent breakfast
A bit of road noise at night so ask for a room overlooking the garden.
Excellent location for exploring the Peak District. Friendly hotel with character, and food worth travelling for.
Excellent restaurant service, nice room with good bathroom
Room was far too hot (and centrally controlled so we couldn't turn off ourselves), noisy from traffic with window open. Didn't expect this for the price tag! Didn't receive any response when gave feedback.
Nice location. Nice homely feel Quiet
Nothing too much
Food portions a little small
Very friendly caring staff. Comfortable bed. Very good breakfast
No night light No lift Step in bathroom
The room 9 was very good for family.
More Fruit for breakfast.
Dirty bed linen. Stained cushions. General smell of damp in the suite. Very off putting.
the location very pleasant scenery spectacular.Good walks nearby.Village 3/4 mile walk downhill. Not much there but pleasant enough.Found local pub and joined in quiz night locals very welcoming.Hotel staff very friendly and attentive. Our room was a standard double lighting was a bit too subdued so mentioned this to staff.Otherwise fine.Food good in bar didn't try restaurant.
Great service overall and delicious food in restaurant. Excellent value for money and great location
Wifi is not great, but you don't really need wifi when your enjoying a couple of days in the Peak district
Location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent food.
Décor is a bit drab.
The food was excellent and the restaurant service impressive. Shame that the restaurant was nearly empty.
The lounge is an eclectic mix of furniture and paintings which look quite strange in an old Victorian Hotel. Bedrooms 1970's style - not even shabby chic!
Friendly staff good food comfortable room good location for seeing the area
The price of the drinks was higher than we expected.
The staff were lovely & friendly the location is beautiful
The mattress was too soft
the staff were very friendly and helpful , we had trouble with our tv and they came up to put it right straight away. the young girls who served breakfast were very sweet and very attentive - well done- good breakfast too
our room was on the front and so it was rather noisy with the traffic
