Seeing familiar friendly faces of staff we know, the food the top class chef cooks up, views over the valley and the comfortable bed.
Cold water - but the team are on it and we're still going back to this lovely hotel ♡
Staff were friendly and helpful, comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast and bar meals.
Great location. Fabulous views. Lovey decor. Gorgeous lounge with log fire. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Comfy bed.
Not much choice for vegetarians.
Friendly staff and good food
The building, the village, the views
I walked out of the front door at 10pm to get something from my car parked on the car park. "Door is locked at 11pm" was written in the welcome book and on all doors. Couldn't get back in 5 minutes later. Rang the bell that didn't work, tried another door, then another, then one around the back marked for staff. Panicked - because it's the middle of nowhere and I had no phone and almost every light was off. Spent the next 20 minutes walking around the very old and dark building before finally being let back in, with a "Sorry, I think they went home".
We loved everything about this hotel,we got a good deal at 50%off. the building staff and rooms were top notch and the breakfast was the best i have ever had. if the same deal came our way, we would stay here again. the owner of the hotel itself was a very nice person indeed.thanks for a wonderful stay.
No negatives whatsoever, so if you are reading this. BOOK A ROOM !!!
The staff were great, and the food and accommodation couldn't have been better.
Very comfortable bed. Excellent food Staff actually listen to what you are saying and bring precisely what you asked for - you might be surprised how frequently that doesn't happen. Staff polite and interested
Scarcity of staff sometimes. Dined alone on the second (weekday) night but hardly the fault of the hotel. Only one chair in double room but hardly much of a problem. Unfinished curtain rail support but you can now tell I'm struggling even to find minor fault
Good breakfast, plenty of choice. Good selection of evening meals all cooked and presented very well. Our room was warm and comfortable. Lovely views from the hotel.
Everything!!!! Loved the hotel decor our room had great views, food in bar and restaurant was fantastic, staff were very pleasent and efficient, will go back for sure .
Everything about this hotel is perfect. All the staff are very pleasant, polite and very professional. We had a lovely 2 night stay here, and would highly recommend The Maynard. Enjoy!
not one complaint, absolute perfection :o)
Fantastic scenery Secluded Lovely food Comfortable night stay
That I couldn't stay there longer :) No faults
The hotel is
The bar area too bright cold and cafeteria feel. Dogs welcome so suitable for doggy people. However they do have another area for diners. Dinner disappointment. Minimal starters at high price, dodgy lone crab ravioli. Unsavoury starters, flavourless. Scallop not king and lost on plate poor, mascarading should wear masks with the gloves. Would not have dinner again .watched an unsmiling couple chisel through lambless shanks.
Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Hotel was clean and the room was amazing, even our two pooches loved it! :) food was outstanding and of course the views. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family and maybe one day go back ourselves! :)
That we had to leave. :(
Friendliness of staff, quality of rooms, breakfast
Excellent quality of the restaurant food. Appreciated the veggie option and the presentation of the food.
Limited amount of croissants and pain au chocolate on the breakfast buffet!
I liked the fact that the staff were very helpful. The room very spacious with every you need. Also the scenary which surrounds it was beautiful.
Staff friendliness, efficiency and the walking guides provided at reception. Decent beer and a varied menu, all at a reasonable price
Hotel was a bit noisy once we had gone back to our room - walls and floors seemed a bit thin so noise was transmitted through to our room
Quiet rural location Large room Comfortable bed Bath as well as a shower Decent breakfast
A bit of road noise at night so ask for a room overlooking the garden.
Excellent location for exploring the Peak District. Friendly hotel with character, and food worth travelling for.
Excellent restaurant service, nice room with good bathroom
Room was far too hot (and centrally controlled so we couldn't turn off ourselves), noisy from traffic with window open. Didn't expect this for the price tag! Didn't receive any response when gave feedback.
Nice location. Nice homely feel Quiet
Nothing too much
Food portions a little small
