Room 11 very well appointed and comfortable - good for a small family. Location excellent for exploring the Peak District. We were treated very dimissively on arrival with no greeting or information about the hotel. As a result we did not eat there until our last night. By this time the staff team had changed and the atmosphere improved no end. The meal was excellent. The Maynard is a great hotel but needs to be wary of employing young, inexperienced staff some of whom did not seem to know the basics of how to treat guests especially in a time of economic recession when the hotel was clearly not full even at half-term. |

The food was superb, after eating a cooked breakfast we didn't need to eat anything else all day. The staff were very helpful especially in the restaurant. The room although reasonably clean was not what I expected for a superior room although the view was lovely. The furniture seemed to be a bit of a mish-mash and not very well thought out. |

The bedroom was in fact 2 adjoining rooms - ideal for families. They did not have the Nintendo Wii available any longer but had detailed it in the booking information. |

Not only was the room (suite, Rm 14) wonderful with a great view and enormous double bath, but the service meant we were well looked after, very quiet and relaxing, and the burger from the bar menu was fantastic (we had it 2 nights in a row!). Continental breakfast included in the room rate was basic but decent. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to all, especially young couples looknig to explore the Peak District by car as we did, as it's in a great location with Buxton, Castleton, Bakewell all within 20 mins drive.... Was a bit disappointed to have to remind the front desk about several niggly things, e.g. missing mineral water on arrival, shower gel, toilet roll etc, but they were all dealt with immediately! |

the hotel is well situated in the peak district, an old building which has been very well refurbished in a modern, designer boutique style. The food was superb, staff extremely helpful and the rooms comfortable, clean and tasteful. We were delighted with the hotel and certainly hope to return. The hotel was ideal for us as we like good food!! Only slight downside was the road outside which was not very busy but traffic was travelling very fast. |

My husband and 2 children loved our stay at the Maynard, we weren't able to book into the Restaurant until 7.45 which was a bit late for the boys, so we had food at the bar... it was amazing. Baked Bass we will go to the Maynard again and make sure we book the Restaurant in advance. We figure the bar food was so good, what would the Restaurant food be like?? Shower could do with a good scrub. |

the location the staff were unfriendly and room 4 did not feel like a superior room. The staff were from another country and lacked customer service skills. A local friendly face would have been much better received. The restaurant food was not good either. this is the first time i have ever felt like leaving negative feedback for a hotel |

Everything about the hotel was good. We stayed in the Suite which was especially comfortable and well-designed, but the building, the location, the views, the food, and the staff were all good. The best hotel my friend and I have stayed in, after having stayed in quite a few places around the country in the last few years. The only thing would be that a cooked breakfast isn't included in the room price (though the room price is reasonable, and should leave a few pounds extra to pay for a cooked breakfast if you so wish). |

I loved the decor, lots of funky contemporary furniture mixed with some classic pieces, The food was excellent and the atmosphere laid back. The hotel is easy to find and situated not far from Castleton and Bakewell. |
