Very welcoming hotel, clean rooms and very good food on menu, cooked and presented well.
Disappointed on checkout that we had to point out our final bill was wrong.
Very comfortable rooms and helpful staff.
The hotel was all that we could ask for. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast just right. We ate in the bar on our first night and then the restaurant the second. The food was perfect and the venison the best I have ever tasted, Keep up the great work and thank you for a perfect short break.
Couldn't fault one thing about this hotel would recommend to anyone and everyone
The main suite is superb!
STAFF WERE GREAT. WE LOVE THE HOTEL.
The food, service and atmosphere were excellent
nice historic hotel in a wonderful area of natural beauty. very pleasant and helpful staff. fine dining although a little chilly.
Location and great staff
Absolute ly nothing
our room was perfect, warm and cosy and spacious. The food was exceptional and staff very friendly and helpful.
We liked the location and the ambiance of the hotel, the food was excellent and the service was exceptional. The room was clean and the bed was as huge, as it was comfortable
We didn't like the fact, that we couldn't stay for longer. We can't fault this establishment in any way.
It's was a lovely little hotel. Very easy to find, the staff were brilliant and so was the venue. Food was very good and the value for it was brilliant. Paid £60 on a Friday night and tht included a full English breakfast the following morning. In a really good location for some fantastic picturesque walks. Will defiantly be going back very soon.
Regrettably we only had one evening meal which was excellent and adventurous. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere friendly. Bedroom 4 was large, warm and well furnished and bathroom clean.
The dining room was cold and draughty and the dining chair seats are thick, heavy and difficult to move, also the chair in the bedroom.
Excellent Food, Very Dog Friendly, Staff so helpful, Excellent Room, Location Brilliant, Good Local Beers. I would book this hotel again and would recommend this to anyone.
Room was cold in the afternoon when we got back from a long walk, the heating was on a timer but was switched on when asked. Need to get double glazing as windows in bedrooms let loads of heat out and was cold at night.
Seeing familiar friendly faces of staff we know, the food the top class chef cooks up, views over the valley and the comfortable bed.
Cold water - but the team are on it and we're still going back to this lovely hotel ♡
Staff were friendly and helpful, comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast and bar meals.
Great location. Fabulous views. Lovey decor. Gorgeous lounge with log fire. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Comfy bed.
Not much choice for vegetarians.
Friendly staff and good food
The building, the village, the views
I walked out of the front door at 10pm to get something from my car parked on the car park. "Door is locked at 11pm" was written in the welcome book and on all doors. Couldn't get back in 5 minutes later. Rang the bell that didn't work, tried another door, then another, then one around the back marked for staff. Panicked - because it's the middle of nowhere and I had no phone and almost every light was off. Spent the next 20 minutes walking around the very old and dark building before finally being let back in, with a "Sorry, I think they went home".
We loved everything about this hotel,we got a good deal at 50%off. the building staff and rooms were top notch and the breakfast was the best i have ever had. if the same deal came our way, we would stay here again. the owner of the hotel itself was a very nice person indeed.thanks for a wonderful stay.
No negatives whatsoever, so if you are reading this. BOOK A ROOM !!!
The staff were great, and the food and accommodation couldn't have been better.
Very comfortable bed. Excellent food Staff actually listen to what you are saying and bring precisely what you asked for - you might be surprised how frequently that doesn't happen. Staff polite and interested
Scarcity of staff sometimes. Dined alone on the second (weekday) night but hardly the fault of the hotel. Only one chair in double room but hardly much of a problem. Unfinished curtain rail support but you can now tell I'm struggling even to find minor fault
