The views from the garden, restaurant and bedrooms are stunning, and may leave you wondering if you’re miles from civilisation. As such, the hotel is the ideal base for for walkers, ramblers and climbers, with a wide choice of walks, routes and climbs of varying distances and degrees of difficulty.

The bedrooms have been uniquely created by a leading local interior designer. They are furnished in a modern contemporary style, featuring super King-size beds; plasma screen, Satellite TVs (with over 60 channels, including Sky Sports and almost 100 radio channels); to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
With many notable attractions such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the lovely market town of Bakewell only a short drive away, landmarks like the dramatic grit stone edges at Froggatt, Curbar and Stanage, the Blue John caverns at Castleton and the twin dams on the Derwent/Ladybower Reservoirs - famously used during training for the WW2 Dambusters' Raids - are also within easy reach.
Chatsworth House - the Palace of the Peaks is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and is widely regarded as one of Britain's best loved historic houses and estates. Together with the nearby Haddon Hall, Chatsworth was used as a location in the new film adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Amongst the many local events that attract visitors are the traditional Derbyshire village well dressings, Chatsworth Horse Trials, Bakewell Show, and the Longshaw Sheepdog Trials.
By Car:
- Take the M1.
- Exit at junction 29.
- Join the A629 to Baslow.
- From Baslow, follow signs to Calver.
- At Calver Crossroads, turn right to Hathersage.
- Follow this road for 3 miles and you will find the hotel on your right-hand side.
