Location perfect price more then acceptable bed comfy room warm breakfast delicious
Shower could be warmer
Well-priced. A good breakfast provided. Very good wi-fi service. Comfortable bed, hot water.
Location not ideal, but it can't be helped due to the slopes and contours of the city. It is still quite close to the Buchanan bus station, and to a whole variety of eating places. I did not like the fact that the hotel didn't have a single map of the city ("Oops, we ran out!"). And I was directed to Buchanan bus station to their information desk, and they didn't have one either! Maybe it was just not my lucky day, but it was a sad welcome for this first-timer to Glasgow. Rooms rather small, and walls do not keep out the noise from adjacent rooms. Thankfully the two nights I spent, the other guests piped down by about 10 pm or so.
Hotel badly needs refurbishment smell throughout the stairwell carpets were so dirty and stairs were extremely steep and the lift only holds one person at a time
Breakfast (1st day ok, 2nd day very good) Bed comfy Room and bathroom clean TV in room very central
First impression when you enter hotel lobby is that the carpet looks dirty and we were worried about rooms (but they were clean) Hotel needs refurbishment
Friendly staff. Easy walking distance to shops.
Noise from nearby club which goes until 3am. Hotel a bit tired and dated - could do with refurbishment No wardrobe
Stayed here before - about 5yrs ago - it is now much improved. Its had a refurb and although the bedroom is basic the ensuite was new, but the room was spotless. We were up in the Gods so a few stairs to climb to get to our room but not a problem for us. Its pretty central Glasgow so allow for noisy revellers making their way home - think its in Student land too. Hotel provides vouchers for on street parking. We booked last minute as going to see Bryan Adams at the Hydro but - Scotland was playing Ireland so accommodation in Glasgow was at a premium and I did feel we paid over a £100 for a basic guest house - however breakfast was fine and the rooms were spotless also the staff were cheerful and helpful. Would stay again if price was right!
Staff very nice
Price not to good felt the hotel could have been a bit cleaner shared bathroom filthy
Shared Bathroom could be better.Difficult to lock bedroom door.
did enjoy the guest house, Staff very helpful. breakfast in the morning lovely. No complaints!
Nothing to complain about.
Good breakfast. Close to many great restaurants. Wifi worked.
it was behind the garage nightclub which our room near enough over looked so we were kept awake until 3AM never again will i stay at this hotel! it was very old fashioned felt like we stepped back into 1920! staff werenr the friendliest either overall not very enjoyable night away.
Nice breakfast, friendly staff.
Very small room, no proper curtains. Freezing though a extra electric radiator was provided. Phone weren't working.
The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very nice.
The noise from the night club across the road was intolerable, perhaps the rooms at the back of the building would be quieter.
Location, helpful staff
Lack of heating
Close to everything
Breakfast and staff
liked the location, staff very pleasant,we had a back facing room and was nice and quiet and the hotel overall was quiet, which we liked
our room was very dated, could do with some redecoration, the bathroom in particular also the room was overheated turning the radiator thermostat made no difference!
Super staff, very obliging. Cosy. Easy walk to everything in Glasgow city.
Rather a lot of stairs up and down which to carry my big bag.
The location was excellent,as we went to see Blood Brothers at the King's Theatre, and it was just round the corner. Breakfast was lovely. The staff were all very friendly.
The bed was quite hard, but other than that all was ok.
Breakfast and the mature woman who looked as if she in charge.
Terrible parking, receptionist looked dishevelled, room 16: handle on outside has 4 outsized screws protruding and did cut a knuckle on my right hand, no heating on during the night, bedroom very cold, told they would get the handyman to look at it, both dining rooms had no heating, truth is they had the heating on a timer, will tell friends not to there "ever" I will never go back.
Nothing broken or dirty in our room. Good that all four of us girls got to stay I'm same room for good price
Bit of a trek from town
Second time I have stayed here, lovely reception from Eva and Anne. Breakfast A+.
A long length mirror would be good, especially when you are going to see clients, nice to know what you look like before you leave the room!
Friendly - no fuss - good value for money - great laugh - a German lady asked what kind of sausages were available for breakfast - the wee girl replied very confidently - "we've jist git links!" - look of utter confusion on German lady's face - those of you who speak German will understand why!
Glasgow is a bit of a service desert - it's not that they are rude - as some people think - they just don't do subservience too well. I'm from Glasgow - so know what to expect - it's the international visitors I'm a wee bit worried about - not many foreigners will know what to make of 'that's me, jist now, by the way, aye no bother' - but for £30 a night - I'll go back
The location of the hotel is perfect, so close to the city centre and just a 5 minute walk from everything from night life to the shops
I thought the breakfast option was poor as we just got asked if we wanted a breakfast, nothing regarding what we actually wanted or if we didn't like anything or if we were vegetarian or even a menu, we got asked if we wanted a breakfast me and my partner both said yes and we just got it given on a plate, most of it I left because I didn't like it.
