the hosts, the high standard of rooms, the cleanliness, breakfast, it all felt welcoming and personal

Spa was a bit further away than we liked, a 5 minute drive, but a 20 minute walk.

Despite the horrendous rain when we arrived, Steve was out there waiting to welcome us in with umbrellas at the ready. Lovely hosts, exceptionally clean & very accommodating.

Everything. The owners, Gail and Steve could not have been any more helpful, friendly or accommodating. Just a short walk from Windermere and Bowness and on a main bus route, the guesthouse was perfectly placed for either a walk into town for a drink and a meal or a drive into the countryside. Meadfoot was spotless, our room, and the bed in particular, was ever so comfortable and the shower was brilliant Breakfast was delicious with so many choices from fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals and a perfectly cooked full English. Steve and Gail were always ready with tips on places to go and if it had not been for them we would have missed a dramatic drive over the Hardknott Pass and a visit to the wonderful Holehird Gardens. We cannot thank them enough for making our stay in the lake District so carefree and memorable. We will be coming back to Cumbria and would be disappointed if we were not able to get a room at Meadfoot again.

    Having to say goodbye.

Lovely cooked breakfast in the morning and plenty of options. Loads of leaflets and timetables to plan your trip.

Car park was a bit tight depending on what space you got. Not a big problem though

The owners clearly understand what makes your stay special, so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. the guesthouse is very lean and tidy. location for a short break in the lakes is perfect.

Can only say one thing that could be better, the shower room was very small and cramped, (but very clean)

The location was great just minutes walk into Windermere. Steve and Gail were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Recommended a nice place to eat in the evening.

The bathroom in our garden room was very small. We knew beforehand but might be a problem for some.

We had such a wonderful time at Meadfoot. The owners Gail and Steve bent over backwards to make sure that we had a perfect visit to celebrate our engagement. They sourced champagne for me, sent us an engagement card and even gave my girlfirend a new pair of socks to stop her shoes from rubbing. Above and beyond the service that we expected. Their knowledge of the local area and perfect walks, helped us plan our days. This Guesthouse is in a great location for Windermere and Bowness. Breakfast was amazing. I would highly recommend to other visitors. It was great value for money. Thank you Meadfoot.

Exceptionally clean. Good breakfast in a room with a very pleasant outlook. Owners very keen to ensure a good stay - when they knew I was awaiting a late pickup from a tour company, without being asked they rang the company to ensure they were on the way.
