Well appointed, luxury accommodation. Hotel run by the family owners who are very friendly and helpful. Located in a quiet area, away from busy traffic but only a few minutes from beach and town centre. Very good quality and choice of breakfast selection. Very good value for money.

The hotel is excellent, the staff are great, as is their attention to detail. The breakfast is amazing with a great choice. The hotel is well appointed and is within 5 minutes of the beach and 15 minutes into Torquay.

Style of communal furnishings, though well implemented, happens not to be to our taste..

We liked the personal touch both in the room and in the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for Chris, Caroline and Gary. Really clean and comfortable. Shower has fantastic water pressure.

We had a very warm welcome, lovely and clean, luxury bedroom and lounge area, a great breakfast, excellent variety. So nice, we would like to return with our friends.

An evening meal available in the hotel would have been an advantage.

The staff were super friendley and could not do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The room was spacious and very well equipped. The home cooked breakfast was first class.

Wonderful staff. Super clean and nicely decorated rooms and communal areas. The Suite has a spa bad which is bliss. It is situated in a quiet street, but close to the beach and city. It is the best uk hotel I've stayed in and I've been around a bit.

Excellent hopitality, and very well coming. We really enjoyed our stay and had a fan static time.

This is a family run hotel and we were provided with the warmest of welcomes. As the hotel was not fully booked, we were given the choice of two rooms which was most thoughtful. Although the rooms are not huge, they are extremely well fitted out and everything worked. Our shower was lovely and we slept very comfortably. However, the highlight was breakfast where the display and choice of yoghurts, bread, cheeses, etc was amazing. My wife loved the idea of eating her yoghurt and fruit from a champagne glass! The cooked breakfast was also 1st class, particularly the local sausage. We also made use of the cozy lounge areas and in-house bar. Exceeded our personal expectations and we hope to visit again one day for a longer stay.

The general allround quality of the hotel. The family were excellent hosts and the english breakfasts were superb. I would without question recommend this hotel to any body looking for a stay in Torquay. Very professional in the approach to the guests. My wife and I would have no hesitation in staying at Meadfoot on any future visit to Torquay. If you are contacting the hotel, you can pass on this reference.

Its a family run hotel. Lovely big comfy bed with nice linens. Very quiet, clean and friendly. Nowhere near the hen & stag groups. Found some lovely restaurants.

Torquay - it was nothing like we expected - there are a lot of cheap shops - we had to go to Exeter for a decent shopping experience. The night life in Torquay was very diverse - came across a lot of hen and stag nights.

We stayed for a two night break and can honestly say it was the most welcoming and clean hotel we have ever stayed in. The breakfast was a banquet with so many choices!!. Gary made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door offering coffee/tea and a chance to relax before being shown to our room by Chris. Excellent Stay would recommend anyone who is visiting Torquay to stay at The Meadfoot Bay Hotel and without doubt we would stay again.

Cannot Fault anything...

A small, boutique-style hotel with very attractive decor. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff were attentive and helpful when required, but allowed us our privacy otherwise. The young man in the bar was very friendly and pleasant - a nice change!

To be honest, these are minor points, but worth mentioning. I was travelling with my mother, who is in her 70s with arthritic knees, so I chose the ground floor superior room because it had a walk-in shower. The room was advertised as being possible to set up as a double or twin; however, as a twin, the beds are very close together which is a little disconcerting. The bathroom was lovely, with twin sinks; however, my mother found the glass panel a little dangerous, and the floor a bit slippery. A handle in the shower area would help; also, there were no hooks or seat on which to hang clothes in the bathroom. The room was by the bottom of the stairs and near the Reception, with rubbish bins and parking outside the windows, and people would go there to smoke, so we were a little concerned that it would be very noisy but it was actually pretty quiet. Breakfast is a little on the pricey side - it's a lovely spread, and well worth the occasional treat, but if you tend to have a small appetite, it seems a lot extra to pay.

We had a friendly welcome from Gary who greeted us with a tray of tea and advised us on some lovely restruants to try during our stay. Our room was wonderful with a huge comfortable bed a fabulous bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was exceptional and although not included in our booking price was well worth every penny and we would highly recommend that anyone staying should try it.

Friendly family run hotel with exceptional customer service. Attention to detail when making up rooms was excellent and was made to feel extremely welcome throughout our entire 4 day stay. The additional bonus of the verandah which was accessible from our room topped off an excellent stay. Would do and have already recommended Meadfoot Bay hotel to many people.

The family who owns the hotel were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them in making our break a pleasant one.

The cheap duvet, it was made and covered with polyester, we would have had no complaint if the duvet had been covered with a cotton fabric, which is altogether better for sleeping under
