Nice self service breakfast. The garden is beautifull.
Not a place to look for in the dark. Smells a bit damp.
Characterful place with comfortable beds and nice linen.
Arrived late & left by 8.30am so never met staff. No instruction about breakfast routine, how to access wifi or that I didn't need to wait to check out when no staff on the property. Would have liked a small info pack in the room.
I loved the cottage for its low ceiling beams and authentic period features. Breakfast was a self serve affair available 24/7.
The doors to the en suite barely fit the frames. I'm sure that's another period feature but doesn't give much privacy! The car park wasn't quite big enough for a full house assuming each room owned a car.
A very pleasant refreshing stay, good value, comfort an food.
Poor Phone signal in Bedroom.
It is a beautiful house close to Bristol airport. We felt relaxed, we were allowed to get on with it alone. Everything was easily accessible and no one was hovering! The dogs were delightful.
we liked the quiet location of this very attractive old converted building...it was a lovely bedroom but with one problem for me..see dislikes.we only stayed two nights but found a good pub for our meal locally
duck down pillows and duvets...we only met one member of staff when we arrived who was excellent, but after that it was the mary celeste...some of the bread was stale and the cereals were left open in boxes which we didn't think was right...oh and I could hear the tv in the next room as I was trying to sleep...
The location was excellent - very peaceful and good views . The room was very spacious and comfortable
Meadow Cottage is perfectly situated in the countryside, about 25 minutes from Bristol and about 10 minutes from Coombe Lodge (the reason for our stay here was due to a friend’s wedding at Coombe Lodge so it was perfect location wise). Our particular room was a little small, but it wasn’t a problem as it was beautifully appointed with a fantastic bathroom which looks newly refurbished. We loved the breakfast concept which was a help yourself buffet with the option to cook your own food using the cottages huge country kitchen. Breakfast included the usual cereals, croissants, bread, fruit, yogurt, teas and coffees etc! Being a celiac I brought my own oats and other health food bits and there was always plenty of room in the fridge to store your own fresh food if you do have specific food allergies. We enjoyed breakfast on the outdoor terrace both mornings, admiring the beautiful views of the valley. We really felt like we were at home during our stay here, I can’t rate Meadow Cottages highly enough and can’t wait to come back.
Nice comfortable room, relaxing atmosphere at breakfast. Liked the location and the house once I found it.
Difficult to find in the dark, lack of staff. Didn't return messages and phone calls when I was struggling to find the house in the dark up a small country lane.
Friendly Quiet location Spacious room, comfy bed
Tiny shower/toilet, obvious damp patch (&smell) on floor possibly from where the waste has previously blocked and backed up (macerator toilet - £100 fine if you achieve this) DIY breakfast - totally - had to find everything as no staff (we weren't early!) but this may be advantage for some.
Good comfortable bed, nice linen, towels changed daily. Lovely period house in delightful setting.
Ground floor bedroom small, also a very small shower room with an unpleasant smell. No wardrobe, only a small rail at ceiling height, had to stand on chair to reach it (age 78). Breakfast self service, no one around to clear tables after other guests had eaten, cooked breakfast not included. Reception not very 'customer friendly'.
The house itself is a beautiful period cottage with a matching modern extension and modern kitchen. Period furnishings and decor, large well kept garden and great country views. Our room was nice with a comfy bed, others varied. Parking not too bad but entrance rather tight. Staff and owner were very pleasant although rarely present.
You can't check in until 5.30pm and have to be out by 10am. Cooked breakfast needs to be booked in advance - I missed that in the small print so we had the alternative - DIY from a selection of bread, cereals and croissants, tea coffee etc. No staff present so we had to clear away a previous guest's table before we could sit down. I appreciate a bit space but it would have been nice to have someone pop in now and again to clear the tables.
The absence of shops and inns near the hotel
very charming country house, beautiful surroundings, two very friendly dogs greeting you upon arrival
a very, very aggressive smell coming from a local farm which can make your stay very unpleasant
Breakfast.no evening meal.not allowed till 5' 30'noisy guests.
Loved stepping back in time whilst remaining in the 21st century . Lovely comfortable beds. Beautiful scenery and cuddles from the dogs .
One small request is for mirrors in bedrooms.... we were getting ready for a wedding and had to share the bathroom mirror.
The rooms were lovely, the house was really peaceful and breakfast was excellent. Perfect location for trips to Bath and Bristol.
Able to support and help us out
Beautifull renovated old farm.
Lovely building and grounds. Lots of character. Convenient location for us as we were going to a party locally.
Bit of a surprise to find that you had to help yourself to a DIY breakfast. The girl who checked us in explained that the number of guests didn't justify a full time chef but on the night we were there it was full, and I've stayed at other B & B's where there were only a small number of rooms but we still got breakfast!
Location and old building
No where to put anything. I would replace the book case with a chair. It may add to the ambiance but detracted from the practicality of the room. Basin was impractical for teeth and face. Breakfast took some finding on our own.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Quiet countryside location. Good large garden with tables and seating. Good parking. Well equipped rooms and kitchen.
Two lovely, child friendly dogs but they poo all around the garden. This is a shame because the garden is a very nice but you have to be careful where you tread!
Quiet Country Lane close to Bristol Airport but not on the flight path! A comfortable room with it's own inglenook fireplace. A bit dark but it is a cottage after all therefore the window is quite small.
Wonderful place,love the friendly dogs.
Felt as if the holiday started early Lived up to other feedback
