A warm welcome. Good off street parking is a major plus-point
The bed was really comfy. The staff were friendly. The breakfast, especially the sausages, was very tasty & filling. The bathroom was spacious. Liked the walk- in shower.
The rooms are a bit tired looking with old fashioned furniture.
Home made bread for breakfast! Delicious.
Not enough teabags etc in the room.
Ideal location for walking into the village and for walking up the fells directly behind the B&B, breakfast was lovely, Mike was very friendly and helpful
Small and cosy, Mike was very helpful and was serving tasty breakfast..))
There is no wifi
Friendly Good breakfast Nice lounge to sit in
Bedrooms were a little tired looking
You get what you pay for. It's cheap (money wise), it's clean and it's in a really good location, the breakfast was lovely, the cat was very friendly, as was Mike! Would definitely recommend.
I liked the helpfulness and lovely warm welcome we got also the breakfast was very satisfactory and tasty and plentiful will definately go back for more.
The only and I mean only was the bed was not comfy it felt as if i was sleeping on a bit of a slant and the middle of the bed seemed raised.
Cleanliness Comfy bed Tasty Breakfast
- straightforward, friendly, great value for money - easy to find just a few minutes walk into Ambleside - quiet (despite being just off main Rydal road) and nice country views - nice breakfast choices, well cooked and with home-made scone - plenty of car parking and able to leave the car parked most of the day after check-out
- single room decor too dark for a small room, carpet needs a re-fresh - breakfast coffee quite weak
The whole package
Service good from owner and good breakfasts saw every day off to good start.
Lack of wi_fi.
Good Location Quiet High Ceilings
nice room nice food
wifi advertised but not available (use of computer was offered)

It would be nice if mushrooms were available at breakfast. It would be nice if the shower cubicle were a bit larger. Very good breakfast. Quiet location so handy for Ambleside. Good fell views. Pleasant owner.
Pleasant and helpful staff Good, clean en suite room Excellent breakfast Great price Very convenient location within walking distance of the centre of Ambleside
I was only staying one night!!
Good location, just out of town, but close enough to walk in to the pubs and shops.
Our only downside was the bed was to hard, and the good lady's legs and hips ached a lot.
The location of the hotel is nice as it's close to the city center, although it's not easy to find it if you're travelling by car!
We stayed in the family room for 3 nights, and if you pay 130 pound a day you should expect at least wi fi in the room! The check-out is at 10:00 am, which is quite early! You have to ask for shampo and soap otherwise you won't get any!
Family run, friendly, no frills, good food, comfortable, central location. Bit shabby outside but that is no problem. Parking. Would recommend for good value place to stay with easy access to town centre.
Loved just about everything about this place. Just what we wanted for a hiking trip to Ambleside. Lovely views. Good breakfast. Helpful host.
Kind staff, big delicious breakfast
Nothing, but if there is wi-fi it would be perfect.
Proprietor genuinely helpful and attentive. Location good to walk back into town without hassle of paid parking etc
Guest computer too slow
Close to town
It was all okay, but not fantastic
Dog could only be in bedroom and then only when I was present. The garden was out of bounds. An unexpected additional charge (presented on departure) of £10 for having a dog.
