Great location Friendly staff Clean Decent value for money OK breakfast but fairly limited selection and small portions Room size
Very poor dinner with limited choice and small portions Dated inside and out Needs refurbishing
Poor rooms, lots of stairs, minimal breakfast
Good value and good fun. Bar staff excellent.
Room small and unable to get an early breakfast. Staff still obliged with a sandwich and cereal.
Friendly and helpful staff Clean Room Good choice at breakfast
Very dated decor, and facilities in need of upgrading to make it a hotel you would want to go back to.
Location and hot water in shower
Too many stairs and no lift, scruffy old fashioned rooms and dusty around the edges, food basic, very noisy, sounds like people are in your room and bathroom, water pipes noisy, doors slamming all the time, can hear everything
Reception staff very friendly and helpful
Hotel looks and feels very tired and dated. Breakfasts were poor and pre-prepared
Nice quiet location but close to the shops and bus station. Also very close to the beach area.
For what we paid and what we expected there were no negatives. Your not paying 5* prices so don't expect a 5* hotel.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel was good.
The hotel was very dated and dirty. In need of a deep clean everywhere. Even the clean towels we were given were dirty!!!! Breakfast would have been nice if it had been served hot. My daughter does not drink tea or coffee but was not allowed any extra orange juice. I could go on but really I think I'll leave it there.
The Hotel had parking on site. The location was within walking distance of shops and beach. Large Room for entertainment and large room for restaurant. Breakfast was OK.
The parking was a bit all over the place with not proper spaces. The Hotel interior and exterior is in need of some TLC and updating. Plumbing desperately needs attention with very loud noises when being used from the taps, WC, sink & shower from not only our room but also when others are using (day or night). Room was very small with furniture that didnt fit properly, no bedside cabinets. Bed quite old and squeaky. Staff doing one job then popping up somewhere else doing another. Breakfast was only a one hour slot, 8.30-9.30, slightly inconvenient. There were a few foreigners for breakfast who did not speak or understand much english and it was not explained properly what was on offer, could have been dealt with more professionally. Waitress was quite put out when told by her superior.
Good location. Good breakfast.
Room not in great shape, not very clean. The whole hotel definitely needs a refurbishment. I think it's overpriced.
Staff was really friendly and helpful and only a short walk down to one of the best beaches in IOW
In this day an age internet facilities should be included in the package as everybody needs to use it especially with children as only three channels on TV does not help with nothing for kids. Breakfast should have few more options especially in juices.
the staff were friendly the room was clean
This hotel was like a remake of Faulty Towers. We booked half board and when we got there were astonished to discover that dinner ran from only 6.30-7pm and breakfast from 8.30-9.30am!!!! The breakfast was typical of a B&B but the dinner was atrocious - and I would not feed it to my worst enemy - imagine school dinners form the 1970's meets the 200 yr old rusting tins from the film 'City of Ember': cheap nasty food out of a packet and nothing actually fresh - packet mashed potatoes, stuck together white rice, frozen vegetables, 'curry' like vomit (to the extent my daughter had to go to the room to throw up afterwards), rice pudding and liver on the menu! and that cheap horrible value pack vanilla icecream, not even wine on the menu - and you get the picture - it was so appalling we got the giggles - as it was a choice between laughing or crying about it - and even more surreal was a silver service style waiter service to serve it!! We cancelled the dinner first thing the next morning for the rest of ostay but when we checked out the manager refused to give us any money back apparently because we had used booking.com to make the reservation and they would ask for their commission anyway whether we had actually cancelled dinner or not and because he had 'bought' the food!!! Although the hotel appeared to be freshly painted the decor was awful - really cheap and outdated - with a bar like a working man's club!! - This hotel could actually be a nice hotel as the location is great and the grounds have potential - but it seriously needs a hotel 'doctor' to sort it out. There were no facilities for children in contrast to neighbouring 'guest houses' on the block which had swings, pleasant outside seating and trampolines. If you are an elderly person who likes bingo and school dinners served to you - then this is a good place - if not - stay well away !
We were not treated nicely on the last day of our visit. They gave us cold toasts when we asked them to bring more toasts when we had breakfast. I didn't know that having 6 more pieces of toasts was that hard.
If it can provide the free wifi, it's perfect!
Close to the beach & the town, very welcoming & friendly staff, nice breakfast.
My only comment is it would have been nice to have a shower.
close to the seafront
room very dirty-loads of dust, bathroom wall not joining the ceiling-massive gap-no privacy- towels stained-restaurant staff not helpfull-baby fell out of the highr chair as this was broken but still in use. high chair very dirty-old dried food all over it- Noisy enviroment at night- if anyone on the same floor used the taps or toilet the noise would wake you up. requested baby travel cot- this was extremely dirty, couldn't be used.
The tea selection. and close by beach.
We walked in and they could not find our booking. which took a bit of time to find. room was dusty. ..esp the TV area. The bathroom oon floor when shower is had a dent which caused me to sprains my ankle. no shower gel. .. bed made noises...ttoo much noise from outside. carpark struggled to park. not enough choice for hot breakfast esp for veggies.
Location was good, close to beach. Staff was nice and helpful. Clean place
The room was clean and appropriate for one night stay. We wanted to visit all Isle of Wight so for just one night is fine.
No buffet available. The breakfast service was slow and the staff disorganized.
Clean linen and towels. Shower worked. Friendly staff
No buffet breakfast. No shower gel. Rather careworn.
Cooked breakfast was small, cold and rushed !
style and Breakfast
Room a litle hot
All the staff were very helpful and friendly, our room was small but very clean and comfortable, food was plentiful and a good selection. We will be returning for another visit.
The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They interacted with the customers well, ensuring their stay was acceptable. We will be staying there again when we visit the island again
Got back to the hotel just after midnight to find the front doors locked, I panicked but the phone was answered when I called and someone came to let me in, they said they should have given me the key. They knew I was out for the evening so warning me about the door or giving me the key would have been better than me thinking I couldn't get in.
