Set in the charming, rural region of Perthshire, the Meikleour Hotel is located beside the world-famous Beech Hedge. Located only 12 miles from Perth, the Meikleour Hotel was first known as a coaching & posting house for travellers making their way from Inverness to Edinburgh. The 5 spacious rooms have en suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and tea/coffee facilities. 3 of the rooms are located in the old hayloft. Guests can enjoy local specialities made from locally sourced ingredients. The fish is daily delivered from Aberdeen and the meat is purchased from the local award winning butchers. Our second stay at this hotel. Pleasant staff. Very comfortable bedrooms. Ability to eat either in the Dining Room or the Lounge - same menu. Real ale on tap. Good food with a reasonable range on offer. Hearty breakfasts. Glass of sherry in the bedroom is a thoughtful touch. Only comment would be that the B & B rate is possibly a shade on the high side in comparison with equivalent overnights in Scotland.

We stayed here with friends whilst visiting the Scottish Game Fair-an ideal location, being a few miles up the a93 from Scone Palace. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and viewed as a pub with rooms, as opposed to our more usual country house hotels, it did what it said on the tin.

We had a lovely relaxing two nights at the Meikleour Hotel. Food was very good, staff were helpful and friendly, They even made us an early dinner so that we could make a concert we were going to. Our room was on the small side but comfortable and with plenty storage space. Lots of nice little touches like complimentary whisky or bottled water, fruit and shortbread as well as the usual tea and coffee. We found a little gem here.

Staff were welcoming and friendly and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The ambience of the hotel was homely. It was simply a lovely little country hotel. We would gladly go back to stay another time. The restuarant menu was a bit disappointing.
