One of our part was last back on Sat evening and front door to Meininger was wide open. We were told it would be closed after 11pm and that security would have to let us in. The mattress and pillows are very poor quality and no mattress protectors are in place.
Location Breakfast was good value
Room temp controlled at reception En-suite to small
the 1st (and may not be the only) good thing about this place is the location. quite near to south kensington tube station (picadilly line) that lead you to/fro london heathrow and city center. there are also quite few of interesting restaurants in vicinity of south kensington station. the last good thing about this place is the bathroom. My room was connected into a bathroom for the disabled, but somehow locked from inside and can only be accessed from my room. Powerful shower, warm water and all, and very big. Bigger than my room itself.
It's not a hotel. More like a hostel. Breakfast time stated to start on 630. One day I had to leave at 7 oçlock. There was no staff, no food, nothing at all in the dining room even at 640am. When I asked the lady staff at the reception counter, she said the staff manning the dining room could be in the bathroom. Perhaps, they better not preparing the breakfast in the bathroom!! In the end, I didn't use the GBP 5.90 they charged for breakfast. Not recommended for business travellers.
Location is perfect as well as cleanliness and furniture. Staff really kind and polite.
The bathroom was too small but ok. Some hangers for jackets and shirts would be nice.
Location Breakfast was good value
Bathroom too small Only place to put luggage was on the sofa which left nowhere to sit. No accessible power outlets for hair dryer and mobile chargers.
Luggage room, available for free before the check-in and after check-out Nice and tidy rooms and beds with air-con
Nearly non-existent WiFi signal in the room, good signal was around the reception only One small lift for 6 floors, always packed with people and getting stuck
everything was good
Air conditioned does not work.
not enough electric points only one pillow each top bunk beds not made only one towel given for six people nothing worked in games area
hot water need extra money
staff all very friendly
drink facilities in family rm would be nice, ie kettle tea / coffee
Location, Nice commum areas.
Bathroom small and smells bad. No AC, the room was always Hot.
The location is perfect and the environment is light and airy.
We had told them to switch off the air conditioner, but on the third day of our stay, they switched it on again. The air conditioner leaked continuously on my bed, not allowing me and my friend to sleep, having to get up and go to the reception at 4am! Also the shower head is attached and cannot be used as a handheld, making bathing problematic.
- The area and building felt very safe - It is part of the Meininger chain committed to efficiency, simplicity and reliability
It was significantly more expensive than the Brussels Meininger but was not quite so well appointed (a few torn chairs in the lounge) The breakfast had less choice - no eggs, one type of roll
Plenty of space, good facilities, price, large accessible communal area.
Toilet and shower were a little temperamental, but this was reported so will no doubt be fixed soon.
The friendly atmosphere
The bed was uncomfortable - Mattress needed replacement
The proximity to the South Kensington Underground . Spacious common areas
Not well informed staff, even for things concerning the hostel. Small room with a W.C triple the size of the actual room, used to be a disabled toilette .
Advertised as hotel but actually a youth hostel (noise, people).
The location, value for money and the cleanliness
Nothing to complain about for that price.
The value for money. The location. The cleaningness.
For that price, there was nothing to really complain about.
really tiny bathroom in the room
Handy for museums
Wifi did not work Basic
good location for albert hall staff we helpful good vending machines for snacks good sound proofing from street noise
pillow were very thin
- Hotel's location (close to South Kensigton). - Cost of the room. - Clean room and bathrooms - We were able to leave our luggage in the storage before and after we checked in and out.
- Bathroom in the room is tiny - staff not overly friendly
