The hotel is conveniently located for seeing the sights in the Pimlico/Victoria Station area. The rooms are tiny, so there is not enough room to feel comfortable when travelling with suitcases. If you eat breakfast there the wait-staff makes you feel rushed to leave. The room service people knock loudly on your door in the morning and also make you feel rushed to exit your room in the morning. The level of service was not in keeping with the nightly rate.

Professional and considerate staff who were very welcoming and took trouble to look after their guests. Good location in a calm street, only a short walk from tube and bus links. Room was very comfortable and newly decorated.

Very nice staff. The room was very clean, including the bathroom. It looked like recently refurbished. It'd have been fine to have had more variety for breakfast, but it was ok for just one day. Breakfast time finished too early, same to say about the check out time, but my opinion is good, in general.

Melbourne House was within walking distance of the Victoria Station, Victoria Palace Theatre and Buckingham Palace. Breakfast was adequate. The rooms were very clean although small (we expected that from the reviews). We were given several restaurants for supper and they were all great places to eat. We couldn't open the window at night due to the street noise. We asked for a back room away from the street but didn't get it.

The position is good 5 mins walk to Plimico tube station 10 mins to Victoria , the area was excellent with a few pubs and shops so not noisy or crowded but convient at Victoria you have a large range of eating , theatres etc. The hotel itself was in a large bueatiful 6 storey town house the staff were very good the rooms were spotless the only small problem was that there was no lift and as we were on the sixth floor it was a bit of a hike up the stairs but when we got to the bedroom the beds being comfortable was worth it. If you are looking for a pleasant location,in a nice older house well maintainted and well run at a competitive price look no further. The free continental breakfast was also excellent and welcomed everyday. The only minor complaint was no lift but I would say that if you put a lift in it would have spoilt the beuaty of the house, so we took the line if we had to walk up a few stairs it was worth it If you are not fit I would recommend you request a room on the lower floors

We had to climb 78 steps to our very small room and were unaware that we could state that we didn't want to be on a high level.

The hotel is in a very good location to all tourist sites in London. It is very clean and comfortable, The room was quite small but ok for a few nights, Breakfast is continental, with plenty of choice, including cereal, fruit, yoghurt and toast. Staff are polite and friendly.

I was in london on personal business and found the hotel within easy walking distance of the places I needed to get to I can say that all the staff were friendly and made me feel at home which means a lot when in another country I would consider them all friends from the manager to the kitchen staff It is the best hotel I have stayed at in London having been there frequently over the past thirty years thats high recommendation

The staff at the Melbourne House Hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly at all times and the location was fantastic! Within 5min walk of the Pimlico station and maybe 10min walk to Victoria station with plenty of restaurants and shops in the area. The hotel was also very clean with a nice simple breakfast included in the price of the room. While the rooms are small (but thats normal in London), the double we stayed in was perfectly sufficient for two people for a long weekend. While the breakfast was nice it was only available between approx. 7.30 and 8.30am which is very early if you're trying to enjoy a nice relaxing weekend away. But when we told the hotel manager that we had slept through breakfast on the first day he gave us a great recommendation for an all-day breakfast cafe called DDK (fantastic breakfast for approx. 3 pounds!) The only other issue to take into account is that there really are a lot of stairs in order to get to the rooms. We both only had small backpacks so it wasn't a big problem but others might want to request a room on a lower floor.

Welcome was warm - staff helpful & courteous. Hotel very clean & fresh. Very comfortable beds Good choice of food for continental breakfast. Convenient location suited our needs perfectly .Plenty of tourist information & maps provided - also books to read. Happy days! The addition of a luggage lift would be useful though maybe difficult to install in terrace property.

The staff was very nice and the breakfast was good and plenty. The room was wery clean. The room was small and the wift in the bathroom was very noisy. You could also hear the wift in other rooms when it went on and also other noises. There is no lift in the hotel and we where on the 3rd floor.

I stayed at the hotel for 11 days and I was definitely very enjoyed about everything! Very convinient location just few steps away from the underground station Pimlico, that is the 1st transport zone of London. Hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and polite, rooms were cleaned every day. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room, because it was a business trip, but this hotel is very good choise for those who want to explore the city. Best value for money.

Just location is good. I do not recommend it to anybody els. The doors are terible, very old , not quite, sleeping is very difficult because you hear noises from neighbors as well as from the street.

The Hotel is new and has a nice Victorian style. The staff of the hotel was friendly and helpful. The bathroom was of a good size, especially the shower. Free wi-fi but only up up the second floor. The room did not have a safe (but you could use the one at the reception for free) and a chain lock at the door. You could hear a lot of noise due to people walking in your floor or in others, on the stairs or using the bathroom. The bed was pretty small. We had to pay as soon as we arrived.

It was clean and well located. The weather was cold and we were not able to turn on the heat. The hotel had control of it and it was turned on at 6:00 P.M. and turned off at 7:00 A.M. We did not like this practice.

Room recently new carpet etc so very nicely fitted out. Bed very comfortable, all fittings and decor in excellent condition. Photos on website accurate, very nicely presented throughout. Breakfast coffee is strong and dark with plenty of it. The area was quiet at night and other guests considerate with no late tv or drunks coming back at 3am. Water very hot and shower excellent. Bath (large and deep) near 3rd floor - take the shower head off to fill bath as the mixer tap does not work. Some outstanding restaurants in the area including a Tai Cafe (charwood rd) where the food is exquisite. Value for money could be improved. On rd floor no lift or help with bags, wi fi only on ground floor. Continental breakfast very limited, uk white or brown bread with processed jam in little plastic pots 3 cereals no musuli or herb teas, processed ham and salami, yogs . No Continental croissants although they did have some cake from Lydl, english speaking/understanding of breakfast staff somewhat limited. I have had much better breakfast at several other 2** London hotels charging half the price of this one, it is really a !* breakfast at 3*** prices and does not deserve the 'continental' in the title. Tea coffee in room limited to tea bags and instant nescafe with coffee whitener. Again other 2** places in London provide a better range including some herb teas and milk.
