Bed was very firm
We have stayed here before and feel comfortable, so that's why we selected this hotel again on this occasion.
The check-in process - there seemed to be lots of opportunities for 'cutting-in' rather than waiting in line for a free receptionist. Maybe that's just me being very British!
Liked everything. It was perfect.
Staff were helpful. Hotel was near the hospital where my family member was a patient.
Could hear everything said and done in the next rooms, could even hear hairspray being sprayed. It was like there was no wall at all between us. Beds were very hard. Rooms are small. HVAC system made room either freezing or gaspingly hot.
very difficult and too long check in and check out
Excellent multi lingual staff Proactive helpful welcoming Hotel facilities first rate Hotel bar good value for London
Pillows on bed rock hard! Meant disturbed uncomfortable nights sleep :-(
lovely clean room, warm and excellent staff
Extremely helpful staff - will definitely be returning
That the Spanish restaurant was booked so we couldn't have dinner their !
Perfect location, very good breakfast, professional staff, comfortable beds and linen, free tea\coffee in the room.
Nothing to complain about!
Convenient for conference venue
Opened net curtains to gain access to window and (black) T shirt was covered in dust. Used to live in London and this is a common problem - nets need frequent washing.
Housekeeping was poor towels not white enought. And suprising me that mouse around the hotel
The location of the hotel was great , very close to a number of underground tube stations. Close to Regent's park and close to many restaurants.
I did not feel that the staff at reception were helpful when we requested a quieter room. When it came to checking out we asked for an hour's extension and they wanted to charge us for three hours instead.
Loved the location of the Hotel at the heart of London and close to many quiet neighbor hoods. Breakfast was very good and quality of food was excellent The room size was absolutely perfect in comparison with other Europe Hotels.
The lower room location are not preferred because of the noise coming from the street.
staff were excellent. space in the hotel. close to underground .
The bed was very big and confortable and the bedroom had all the basic furniture to stay for a few days. Moreover the location is perfect to enjoy the city.
The bathroom was a little bit small but well equiped
Staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful.Hotel in a good location just a short walk from Regents Park which is wonderful
Room quite small and a odd shape and bathroom even smaller. Also there appeared to be a lack of hot water in the evenings !!! And the foyer was a bit like a Airport lounge busy and noisy
Good location near tube station. Only 15mins walk from Oxford street
Loved the original deco style & location - walking distance of Regents Park, the Zoo and for the evening - Camden Town. Couldn't be better.
On arrival the male receptionist clearly thought he could get away with giving a middle age mum and my teenage son an inferior room, with no breakfast. So within 5 minutes of a long journey my hackles were risen very high. I had to correct the receptionist and prove - with my booking confirmation (?!) I had pre-booked a room with breakfast, and that we were - of course- booked into a TWIN room, not a double. He claimed all the classic twins were gone - which after a stand-off was shown to be a lie because we were eventually presented with a lovely, compact, twin room. This was very comfortable with good views!
Location was good. The hotel is a touch of class and makes the stay in London so much better
Good hotel in general
There is no free welcome water and even v expensive one bottle cost 7pounds!!!
The guest experience team members are exceptional -they not only listen to your concerns but also take action. Spacious and attractive reception and bar areas. Well equipped and comfortable bedrooms. Excellent choice of food at breakfast. Excellent location for tube and walking to Oxford Street etc. Rates can vary but has proved very good value for money so far.
Had a lengthy wait at check in one time - but this can happen at most hotels if you are unlucky and hit a long queue. Breakfast area is lively - not a problem unless you are wanting a quiet start to the morning. (Don't let it put you off. Either enjoy the buzz and excellent food or go to a quiet nearby cafe!)
The hotel was nice, although the beds were a bit on the hard side, but the best reason to stay at Melia is the location. Within easy walking distance is Regents Park, great restaurants/shops on Marylebone High Street, and multiple Underground stations and bus lines. We were able to easily get everywhere we wanted to be for London sightseeing.
I requested a king size bed when I booked my room on booking.com, but when we got to the hotel they said they only had a room with two twins available. When I showed them my reservation, they said they didn't guarantee room preferences made through booking.com. After the first night they moved us into a room with a king bed, but it was a disappointing start to the trip. I understand they want people to call them directly to reserve rooms, but if they are going to allow guests to make reservations through booking.com, they should fully honor those reservations.
The first night was in a comfortable and pleasant room if a little noisy but I had to change rooms due to bookings being made by different people.
The check in on both evenings was unbelievably slow (20 - 30 mins) and whilst staff offered drinks to the queue, they seemed unable to actually help and process faster. Second room shabby, noisy and minute - not a good experience at all. Drains blocked and furniture chipped. Expect a lot better.
