Breakfast room staff Cleanliness of room
old staircarpet and surliness of reception staff
Really close to King's Cross station and walking distance from lots of tourist attractions as well. Small but perfectly adequate and clean single room and a great breakfast.
There was a funny smell in the hotel, worse in the corridors, better in my room; I am not sure what it was, and it only bothered me on the first evening, but then I got used to it.
Great location near to Kings Cross station. Extremely clean and seemed well looked after. Very happy with my stay. As with all hotels in London it is over priced for what it is, but you won't find much cheaper that close to the centre.
very helpful staff member very clean bedroom and bathroom comfortable bed fully opening windows
small sized room
I stayed only one night and I can say that the staff were really polite and helpful. The next day I checked out and left my luggage in the reception area so I can walk around the city. Really good location and I can say a good value for the money.
Location, modern clean fresh looking room and bathroom, bed comfort.
Steep stairs to 2nd floor room with no lift.
Bed very comfortable. Room clean and bathroom good.
Can't answer WiFi question as didn't use it. Bedroom right under main hallway and next to stairs... Also prison like door entry system for front door, so noisy.
Friendly helpful staff, great breakfast with really tasty bacon & sausage, compact modern stylish bathroom, easy late night access arrangements, comfortable bed & quiet night's sleep, plenty of hanging space in wardrobe, not far from Russell Square tube, nice pubs nearby
no desk or comfy chair in room, shame breakfast only till 9 am
Gets the mix of the basics and the finishing touches just right. I used the hotel because of it's proximity to Kings Cross. Will do so again
Breakfast was tasty, room and en suite met our needs and staff welcoming.
Excellence of staff serving the breakfasts to many people with great efficiency and pleasant smiles. Generous assistance of Peter at the front desk in dealing with a problem. Room cleaned consistently every day.
Long narrow stairway up to the fourth floor difficult with luggage...
Great location Silent street Good restaurants and pubs arrond the corner Great breakfost Clean bathroom
No elevator Steep and narrow steps Smal rooms - just for sleeping
Friendly welcome, and regret that I couldn't stay in the morning for breakfast. Clearly they are trying to upgrade the place.
Street noise, noisy doors, expensive for not much.
- The Price - Location - Cleanliness
My room was right next to the breakfast room and was woken up very early as people were walking down the laminate floor stairs to the breakfast room. Maybe a new carpet on the stairs??
Location was perfect for us so handy for rail connections. The room was on the ground floor which is good to know as we will use here again. Room was lovely and clean and everything you needed for a comfortable overnight stay. Breakfast was basic but adequate and did the job. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Would stay again.
Location - central but quite quiet Cleanliness Value for money Polite and efficient staff
Queuing for breakfast Painting of corridor towards breakfast room being done whilst breakfast in progress, thereby restricting access along a narrow corridor. WiFi didn't allow access to the full facilities of some websites and did drop connection.
Great value for money and prime location in the heart of London...well recommended for a short stay in the City, especially if you are moving on via Euston or Kings Cross as it is a short walk away. Heathrow airport is also a direct trip from Russell Square tube station.
location, quiet room, Wi-Fi
asked for double bed single occupancy ( almost 40 days prior arrival) got very small room, steep narrow stairs, no lift, no help from hotel staff for hotel guests' luggage, no good value for money in single room, smell of kitchen and burned oil in the morning, bathroom too small, dangerous stair at the entrance of bathroom, TV did not work one night/of 3 , electric cattle button (on/off) broken
close to the stations plenty of restaurants near by.
Bright, clean, quiet room. Happy to have a proper shower and not have to climb into a bathtub. it was wonderful to have a window that opened and was secure. Breakfast was tasty. The location was brilliant; close to St Pancras International Rail Station and Underground.
Close proximity to King's Cross / St Pancras and decent places to eat.
Small, pokey, dark room near kitchen from which a lot of noise was emitted until late evening. In spite of obviously catering for travellers catching early trains, breakfast, which we had paid for, not available until 0730, so had to buy coffee etc at station. I suppose we should have read the small print, but did not feel we got value for money.
Nice quiet location yet only 5 mins. walk to St Pancras. Breakfast staff helpful,we had to leave before 7.30,but they provided coffee, toast and boiled eggs We will use again next time in London..
3rd floor for mountaineers! If you are not good on stairs, ensure that you are given a low floor-no lift. I would confirm this with Hotel when booking. Breakfast doesn't start till 7.30_but see good points.
Closeness of the property to Rail and Underground stations and Restaurants. My room was compact but suitable for my short stay (as is typical on any of the Cartwright Garden properties). My room was clean, and comfortable with a great view of the park opposite. Breakfast was very well provided for, with a very good selection of breads, cereals and cooked items. A very busy room at 8AM becoming quite hectic with only two staff members serving. The cost of the room was reasonable for what I received. Bathroom was recently renovated and a bright start to my day, good shower. Providing a larger bath towel would be a great improvement. I would stay there again on future visits to London.
The ongoing upgrades in the building are obvious but were not a hindrance or create a disturbance, to me anyway. The furniture in the room was dated, very well used, and in a run down condition, including the squeaky box spring.
Efficiency, wifi, location, bed. Especially location, close to so many things.
Hot water seldom worked, has only stairs, so carting luggage up and down the stairs was not something I enjoyed
Pretty quiet for a city-centre location
There was a used towel on the bathroom floor when I checked in. I asked the staff to clean the room but the dirty towel was still there when I came back in the evening. It really made me question the cleanness of this B&B.
