Location and friendly staff
Insufficient powerpoints and no where to work at a desk/table
Location, clean, comfortable, privacy
Expensive for b&b
Location, comfortable rooms and price make the Mentone a good choice for travellers on a budget in an expensive city like London.
The shower stall could use a bar to hold on to and a little shelf for soap and shampoo, but does offer a dispenser with liquid soap. The room had only one small garbage can, and none in the bathroom.
I liked how the TV was placed strategically. Room felt quite cosy.
There wasn't hot water to shower in the cold morning, I had to shower in cold water! Could've given more than one pillow.
Amazing location, great value, beautiful fixtures, clean, elegant, very accommodating staff
Each room is different inside, but I happened to be in a room with a very small bathroom, and every time anyone took a shower, the entire bathroom floor would become a lake! This didn't bother me at all but my partner hates being damp :)
Situation + perfect breakfast + personnel kindness
Fresh painting (smell + windows wide open)
The staff at breakfast time were lovely as was the breakfast. Very clean bedroom, Close proximity to railway stations.
Receptionist on arrival was unhelpful and sombre. Stairs to upper floor bedroom were dangerous. Bedroom window opened far too wide on third floor family room (a child could easily fall out).
Good location, a park right in front so there was a bit of a view, good bed in a tiny room but cozy, wifi was good, staff friendly
skip the breakfast and to out to a nearby cafe instead, stayed on the top floor and it took a while to get hot water
friendly staff, very clean rooms, good breakfast
a very tiny single room, only a chais with not even a small table
The location is excellent, easy communte to everywhere, as we arrive at Euston station. The room is fairly clean. breakfast is quite good.
We were given room No.2, which is right next to the entrance. We hardly had any sleep at all, as you can hear everyone coming in late at night and going out early in the morning. You can hear every word people were talking. The outside and street light was very bright and unfortunately the curtain is not black out. So, we were really suffering the whole night and hardly sleep with a 3 year old girl. This room should be used as receiption not a sleeping room.
Friendly staff, food and service excellent. Comfortable bed. Good location close to Euston. Handy for the tube but we also walked to Covent Garden. Good value for money.
I have stayed quite a few times before and everyone is helpful. It is convenient for where I want to visit. Thank you
The location is good, walkable to tube n lot of eateries around. The alternative room offered on the following day was spot on. Good for budget travel.
The room 42 offered on first night was terrible and the worst ever. No heating, broken shower and when I decided to checkout forfeiting the next two nights prepaid, then was offered alternate room. The alternate room is just awesome. So need to be lucky to get good room. Next big disadvantage is stairs, very steep and guest with baggage would feel nightmare as no escalator. English breakfast is a joke, skipped mine after first day. Overall a good hotel which has mixed room worst&best.
Excellent location, very nice staff, good breakfast. A good place to stay in central London.
Loved the breakfast and the speed with which the ladies turned around the tables and prepared for the next guest as, they were very full.
Excellent location, very friendly staff and nice breakfast. Bathroom was new.
Basement floor corridor smelled of damp and smoke. mattresses, broken doors and general hardware lying around the corridors. building is in disrepair.
The location is brilliant! Less than 10 minutes walk from Euston, Russell square and Kings Cross stations. The perfect blend if you're going around a lot using tube. I'm also familiar with the nighbourhood and it has lots of important venues and shopping places and restaurants very near.
The facilities were a bit poor, only two electricity sockets already used for the TV and kettle, not enough toiletries (no shampoo or shower gel) and the stairs up to third floor where my room was are very tricky!
Location, very central and very well served.
The facility needs a refurbishment, WiFi was constantly on & off (more off than on!) & hot water was available only when not in use by other rooms! No fridge, wall plugs didn't always work.
The staff were very helpful and they changed our room when we asked and explained the reason. The location is great!
tried a number of hotels in the area and this was best yet. excellent breakfast
- Staff were polite and helpful - Breakfast was good
- Noise of Tube train underground - Room where breakfast held dirty (door, menus, etc) - No plug for sink! (how much do they cost?) - Shower water hardly had the strength to get out of the shower head - Plug for kettle behind cupboard or under desk.
Proximity to tube ,breakfast
We were on top floor stairs are precarious, windows rattle a bit ;shower was cold if you don't get up early enough ,breakfast room small not enough room if lots turn up at same time
Breakfast was ample for a short weekend. Juice, cereal, full English, Toast and croissants
We stayed in room 4. Unfortunately the guests above our room were very inconsiderate. Floorboards were creaky from 2.30am till about 4.00am. Lots of noise too.
We were in a basement room without a view but the bed was cosy and the shower adequate. Not much space for furniture - in truth it was more suited as a single room. Close to Euston though and not too far from Camden Market.
Tight stairs, staff who swore at each other and didn't seem to have had much training.
The hotel was in a great location close to where I traveled to/from. Comfortable bed and good, quiet nights sleep. Breakfast was served quickly and by friendly staff. Basic but had everything I needed, great for a short stopover.
Shower could do with an update and it'd be nice if the gentleman on reception was a bit more friendly and welcoming. Perhaps the breakfast room could be signposted too, it was explained to me on arrival but coming at it from the stairs rather than reception it would have been easy to get confused by the number of unmarked doors. Overall though, good hotel for a short stopover!
