“ Double room was spacious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. Excellent location, quiet at night and the tube only a few minutes away. I would stay here again and have already recommended it to colleagues. ”

Location, breakfast was better than I was expecting, croissants were excellent. My room would not be suitable for many, very steep narrow stairs to get to it. Also 2 small steps within the room were a hazard. Otherwise facilities were good. Quiet room, bed very comfortable, free wifi. i would come back if in London again.i

The location -5 minutes walk to an underground station.Quite close to some of the important sights. We were given a spacious room, a triple, actually, which was good. The location is very quiet, too. It was clean and freshly renovated. Actually, I want to thank the hotel staff for meeting all our requests. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was o'key from the point of view of the choice of food. Many cooked options: you can choose from scrambled eggs, fried eggs. Boiled egg, sausage and bacon, fried beans, mushrooms, ororder them all at the same time.Besides, there's a buffet with cereals, yogurt, fresh bread, canned fruit. However, I can't say I enjoyed the quality of the cooked meals. For the fries they use the oil many times,( you can smell it in the morning even in your room). And scrambled eggs felt like rubber. Coffee was the worst ever. It was hard to sleep at night when someone was walking up the steps or couldn't settle down in one's room, for all the partitions were shaking and creaking. If you are a sensitive sleeper, you need earplugs. Our room was very nicely renovated, but the toilet seat was terrible, peeling. It needs to be replaced urgently. These are not complaints, just minor picks to help other travellers make their choice. On the whole, our stay was good.

Fairly clean, good breakfast, location good for underground. No lift, especially when we are over 60 and placed in the roof space bedroom at the top of endless flights of stairs that culminate in an even narrower stair, leading to what was once, I imagine, servant's quarters. Very bad smell of drains in our room on second day - we had to be moved to another room, but not before a great deal of bleach was emptied down the loo, sink and shower. Unfortunately, I react with bleach fumes, but it was done before I even noticed the bleach container. We had to spend the night in this room as we were told there wasn't another available.

Great location for central London. This was classified as a two star hotel but was better than most three star hotels that I have stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will certainly stay there again.

Loved the location on a quiet Mews type street and above some tennis courts. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Good breakfast with attentive staff. I had an issue with the heating which was promptly dealt with by the manager on duty. Steep staircase to top floor but this is not unusual for an old building.

My mum and i came for a funeral, The Hotel was very near to the Train station which was a plus for us, we had a quadruple room so we had a double bed each, very comfortable and it was nice and warm with the central heating. Shower nice and hot, the room was very clean, and breakfast was really nice, and staff at breakfast was very focused on there jobs and customers. Thank you The only thing that we both did not like was the noise, you could hear when anyone in the adjoining rooms flushed the toilet, every floor board must be loose, it was like there were in our room. This is the only reason we would not return to the Mentone, and its a pity because everything else was near perfection for us.

Mentone hotel is in a good location as it in between Russell Square, Euston, and Kings Cross underground stations (all within 5 minute walk). This came in very handy for exploring London. The receptionists were friendly and helpful and breakfast was quite good and quick service. Room was clean and spacious and bathroom was clean. The beds were very big and comfortable. The shower had trouble draining the water away whilst in use.

Cleanliness. Efficiency of staff. Light airy room. Comfy pillows, good shower room.Superb location next to shops and restaurants. Quiet location. Fast breakfast table service. Fast check-out. Bed a bit firm, although some people may be ok with that. Short wait for a table at breakfast, but once sat down staff very efficient at delivering food.
