Great value for money and prime location in the heart of London...well recommended for a short stay in the City, especially if you are moving on via Euston or Kings Cross as it is a short walk away. Heathrow airport is also a direct trip from Russell Square tube station.
location, quiet room, Wi-Fi
asked for double bed single occupancy ( almost 40 days prior arrival) got very small room, steep narrow stairs, no lift, no help from hotel staff for hotel guests' luggage, no good value for money in single room, smell of kitchen and burned oil in the morning, bathroom too small, dangerous stair at the entrance of bathroom, TV did not work one night/of 3 , electric cattle button (on/off) broken
close to the stations plenty of restaurants near by.
Bright, clean, quiet room. Happy to have a proper shower and not have to climb into a bathtub. it was wonderful to have a window that opened and was secure. Breakfast was tasty. The location was brilliant; close to St Pancras International Rail Station and Underground.
Close proximity to King's Cross / St Pancras and decent places to eat.
Small, pokey, dark room near kitchen from which a lot of noise was emitted until late evening. In spite of obviously catering for travellers catching early trains, breakfast, which we had paid for, not available until 0730, so had to buy coffee etc at station. I suppose we should have read the small print, but did not feel we got value for money.
Closeness of the property to Rail and Underground stations and Restaurants. My room was compact but suitable for my short stay (as is typical on any of the Cartwright Garden properties). My room was clean, and comfortable with a great view of the park opposite. Breakfast was very well provided for, with a very good selection of breads, cereals and cooked items. A very busy room at 8AM becoming quite hectic with only two staff members serving. The cost of the room was reasonable for what I received. Bathroom was recently renovated and a bright start to my day, good shower. Providing a larger bath towel would be a great improvement. I would stay there again on future visits to London.
The ongoing upgrades in the building are obvious but were not a hindrance or create a disturbance, to me anyway. The furniture in the room was dated, very well used, and in a run down condition, including the squeaky box spring.
Efficiency, wifi, location, bed. Especially location, close to so many things.
Hot water seldom worked, has only stairs, so carting luggage up and down the stairs was not something I enjoyed
Pretty quiet for a city-centre location
There was a used towel on the bathroom floor when I checked in. I asked the staff to clean the room but the dirty towel was still there when I came back in the evening. It really made me question the cleanness of this B&B.
Very good location friendly staff clean room.
Location was quite good with ample pubs, stores and the underground at King's Cross/Pancras as well as trains at the same and Euston. The wireless was fast and 'some' beds were comfortable.
The single bed in our room was hard as rock but the double was wonderful. They only provided bath towels - no hand towels or face cloths. We asked and were handed 2 hand towels and the next day they were removed and not replaced. They also don't follow their environmental policy with towels. Oh, heavy luggage? Good luck as there is no lift.
The location near to Kings Cross and Euston. Set in a pleasant and safe area. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast fine and included self service and waitress service. Room was clean and well maintained.
Quite expensive for a fairly basic hotel. Breakfast was only served until 9 am, which seemed a little early when most of the guests wee tourists, not on business. We did feel we were being rushed to finish by the waiters. No lift, so be aware if you have heavy suitcases or pushchairs etc. One of the beds was extremely squeaky and disturbing for others in the room. Some strange layout in the room which included the only mirror being nowhere near a plug socket. Not very helpful when attempting to use hairdryers etc, The only plug sockets were either not working or behind the beds. Overall, a reasonably good hotel in a safe area but a bit expensive. However, this is central London and really near to the major transport hubs. There are plenty of other options in the area so might be a good idea to shop around.
The location is excellent being close to Euston and set away from the main roads means it is quiet but convenient for main line and underground. Breakfast is good and is included in the prices. The rooms tend to be fairly new looking.
They have bedrooms in every area, including the basement. I have stayed three times and have had a room by the front door which buzzed and clanged whenever someone went in or out, the second time was a lovely front facing room on the second floor which was bright and airy, the most recent looked like a converted cupboard overlooking a white brick wall at the back of the hotel, which was quiet but cramped.
Fantastic location, clean modern comfortable room. Good value breakfast.
Was booked into room 12 on the 3rd floor. Lots of steep stairs to access room. No lift or assistance with case.
It was placed for both Euston underground and St Pancras.
The white bread with breakfast.
The comfort, the location close to St Pancra's metro, Wifi, breakfast (good coffee) and nice choice.
Good bed, nice staff and great breakfast
Room 21 is right at the entrance, so you would hear everyone come in all night long (door opens with a buzzer), and everyone passes your door for breakfast. Did not sleep much.
Large room. Bathroom recently decorated and clean. Nice quiet street near to St Pancras, King's Cross and Euston stations. Very nice person at reception.
The corridors were a bit dated. Insonoration of the rooms - could hear people walking upstairs.
Great location, friendly staff, comfortable room with hot shower. Can't fault a thing. Will definitely recommend to others and would stay again if I come back to London.
Nothing - loved everything.
Staff friendly & helpful. Room was clean. Wifi worked fine. Breakfast was pretty good.
My Shower was cold as hot tap did not work.
Helpful staff. Front desk staff carried the suitcase up to the 3rd floor ( no elevators), helped to map out directions, and made suggestions for nearby museums. Hotel is convenient to bus station and Underground Kings Cross.
No elevator, no air conditioning, triple room includes 1 single bed and a double (queen?) for 3 adults.
We wanted a hotel close to St. Pancreas for a morning Eurostar departure. The hotel was an easy walk even with luggage and we found the amenities and surroundings very suitable for our two night stay.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious enough for our stay. The breakfast was excellent. Staff helpful and efficient. The location was great; only about 10 minutes from Euston and the same from Russell Square with a direct link to Heathrow on the Picadilly Line.
Nothing - we would stay again.
Good value for money
Situation of the breakfast restaurant in the basement
Staff attitude and attentiveness was brilliant. Food standard but well cooked and large variety. Central position for most areas and close to stations.
Bathroom too small for three.
Happy with location, room, staff and service provided. It is likely that I would stay here again.
Nothing really to say here.
