The position so near to sea and beach. Fab breakfast and very friendly helpful staff.

No bath or robes in bathroom.

Loved our room

The pool was filthy and so was the pool area!! I am aware the pool does not open until the end of May however it was a nice day and we were unable to sit there as it was very depressing and dirty!

Our room was wonderful with a fantastic sea view. The breakfast was excellent and catered for eveyone. I could not fault this hotel and would not hesitate to stay again. Only wish our stay had been nfor longer.

Large and well furnished room. Public areas very well appointed. Good food. Relaxed, refined atmosphere. Pool and fitness area were exactly what we were looking for. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

On our second night there was a disco in the hotel until one o'clock, almost directly underneath our room. The noise was intolerable and we had to ask to be moved to another room for the night. The hotel should have known this would be an issue and should not (in my opinion) let out the nearby rooms on the nights when such noisy events are booked. The night porter was brilliant and found us an alternative immediately, but the events were very disruptive to us as we were only staying for three nights and one of them was spoiled.

The temperature in the hotel dining room was unreliable. Most of the time either too hot or too cold. Cold is better than hot as one can add a layer of clothing. This was the same problem as last year.

Excellent location at the east cliff of Bournemouth beach. All sorts of drinks offered in the room.

The floor is too old. When people in the upper room of my room, I could hear the ceiling shaking all the time.

The location is great. Lovely comfy bed and nice quiet room. Good to have a splash about in the smallish indoor pool.

Outdoor pool was not available. 4 people in the room, but only 2 cups. Never enough milk sachets. No fridge to cool water.

Very helpful staff, clean and smart, nice decor- classical yet bright and colourful, they were accommodating and eventually made a plan even when they failed to give us the room we had requested (but I had to push somewhat), good breakfast, great swimming pool for the kids, excellent location. The apartment we stayed in was superb. Would definitely go again.

Either the hotel or booking.com messed up our booking, we're not sure. I called Menzies central reservations line twice and hotel reception once to confirm a sea view (which we paid for). In fact, hotel reception said "yes, you have a superior room with a sea view" which was what central reservations said too. When we arrived they had given the room away and the staff seemed uncomfortable. We were all very disappointed as it was only a 1 nught stay and considering I had confirmed 3 times! In the end they put us in an apartment with direct access to the garden so the kids could run around ...and when the kids went to bed my wife and I could have a glass of wine in another space without sitting in silence. We still didn't get our sea view though. A big thank you to the staff that made a plan for us. I was ready to never return there again, but now I might - as long as I get the sea view I paid for!

Staff very helpful - nothing too much trouble. Food tasty and well presented. Service quick from properly trained staff. Position by the sea. Gardens pleasant . Hotel quiet.

A la carte menus for DB&B guests rather limited but not a real problem.

Oh! our room and bath room was just lovely and very big. Comfortable bed, relaxing athmosphere, friendly staff, lovely food and excellent service all over.WE shall return in summer. I am so happy we did not let the other feed backs stop up from visiting the Carlton Hotel.

There was nothing we did not like apart from a bit of maintainance need here and there.Oh! and we could have a bit more choice of food.

Superb staff at all levels. A lovely suite and very comfortable. Good food. Good location Generally a very relaxing place.

Very little. During our stay a stag party arrived and their language in the bar was atrocious. We think the bar staff was apprehensive about saying anything and it was some three hours before the restaurant manager became aware of the situation, stepped in and told them to moderate their langage which to be fair they did. We think it a pity that a hotel such as the Carlton allows such groups to book there.

the hotel is dated and needs up-grading.the bath and shower were poor,the door entry key failed 5 times in 48 hours.The leisure facilities were fair only.I would rate the Carlton 3 star only.I cannot comment on other Menzies Hotels in Bournemouth.

We were given a fantastic room with sea view. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and the staff very welcoming. We also enjoyed the Spa where we spent a few relaxing hours.

Very comfortable room and bed,spacious bathroom. Enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast and dinner were good meals. Very convenient to park the car and walk or bus into town. Very pleasant short break which we will repeat.

The steps in the dining room when getting breakfast....difficult for us oldies! It was quite draughty in the dining room at night and we concluded the door to the car park was left open. ? a self shutting door would be appropiate as in the bottomn corridor. However there was a bitter east wind blowing! Please check your keys as another guest entered our room by mistake...we did report it.
