Room was spacious well kept and clean
The food was disappointing
Large open fire and spa facility
Service lift operating when in bed room 130
The hotel has real character, lovely grounds and views, great food and service. The most relaxed hotel stay with drinks by the log fire, we have ever had and very handy for Stratford. This was our 3rd visit.
Extremely helpful staff, food excellent. Great venue. We will return
No wifi or 3G 4g connection we had to go for dinner to be able to deal with emails and messages and do the same in the morning it's a simple thing to get it wrong just ruined our stay and we won't be back.
Spa, bed, grounds, interior
We had to queue for breakfast and we never did that anywhere else before! Bar was too expensive in our opinion
Public areas beautiful with wood paneling and log fires.
Room in the garden wing didn't provide any of the touches of luxury we expected at the price. No heating in the wing despite frosty weather. Disappointed with the stay.
We loved the spacious public rooms with comfortable seating, log fire and excellent service without ostentatiousness. We'd certainly book this hotel again if discounted rates are available. The grounds and environment were delightful.
Management of the housekeeping was poor. We booked in at 3 p.m. and finding our way to our room was an unpleasant experience stepping over breakfast trays in the corridor and bin bags of rubbish. It would be a good idea to instruct guests to leave used trays in the drop-down drawer in the cabinets in the room, and to ensure bin bags of rubbish are cleared.
Excellent check in with friendly staff Extremely comfortable bed Very clean, tidy and presentable
Hard to find anything bad about this hotel
The character that the hotel had, which continued into the bedrooms. The open log fire with sofas around it for everyone to enjoy. The parking was right outside the hotel. The spa facilities were very good. The grounds were beautiful!
Amazing views, lovely dining. Returned one year later. House is beautiful. Food is excellent. Will visit again.
cant find a reason to write anything..
Quality of hotel and location excellent
Breakfast very poor for price drink prices ridiculously high
Everything. The staff are very helpful & friendly. The atmosphere is excellent, lovely in December with the Xmas trees & log fires. Our daughter married in the hotel last December & that was such an amazing experience we have decided to re-visit every year.
Staff were lovely and spa gorgeous.
Room was like a travel lodge (but a lot more expensive) and noise from the heating system made sleep impossible. Not a nice experience at all.
From arrival to departure, loved everything. Check in staff very friendly and helpful. Told her we had stayed there 40 years ago for our honeymoon and she upgraded us and they gave us a card....nice touch
Spa and food
Spa outstanding Food a pleasure to behold as well as eat Close to Stratford for sightseeing Convienient for M40 Bathrooms very up-to-date View from room lovely Bed huge and very, very comfortable
The staff were clearly very poorly trained. Breakfast staff simply said 'it's over there', with no mention of the menu. Check in took 15 minutes. Check out staff didn't print invoice, just said how much it was. We ordered the Times and it didn't arrive. When we asked if we could have the one at reception they said no. All in all, the service was pretty appalling and the hotel was very tired looking. The management clearly can't be bothered to train their staff.
Apartment was very spacious with 2 double bedrooms, lounge area and kitchen. Very clean. Beautiful grounds. Spa had good facilities and clean. beauty therapist very friendly and amazing massage.
Paying for robe and slippers in Spa - should be complimentary for the cost of the break.
Great old manor Nice romantic setting Lovely leisure facilities (if working) Manager helpful when made complaint
no champagne in room even tho booked it. Half of facilities not working in spa Room too hot radiator wouldn't turn off Moved rooms 3 times due to dirty rooms
Beautiful grounds and garden, the spa facility particularly good value....highly reccomend taking up one of the treatments
Nothing not to like.....if I'm being picky the building a bit old and tired in the original parts but that's old buildings for you!
Absolute luxury. Excellent spa. Food was fantastic and staff attentive. It was like staying at Downton!
WiFi kept dropping connection which was annoying
Liked the Spa facilities and the staff were very helpful and friendly
Hotel was extremely hot all the time. Food for evening meal and breakfast was only fair and not good value for money
Location superb, great ambience and staff very friendly
nothing, we had a great leisure break and will definitely go back to this hotel
