It was in a great location for where we needed to go. It was easy to find from the coach station. We got what we paid for.
Really old decor, place looks quite shady. Really old building. The TV was 10inch big pretty much. That too, they said that the tv was not given in every room and I had to request to get my room changed so that I can get a tv. No internet on my floor.
A bit run down
Friendly staff, great location, comfy bed
The noise (which is nothing to do with the hotel, just typical city centre noise)
Comfortable bed friendly staff central location BUT..............
Street noise kept me awake tho hotel itself quiet!Manchester never sleeps!
Price, staff, location
no storage, old damp stains, broken TV, noisey outside
Only the location
Unprofessionally acting staff. Bed is not comfortable at all; I could feel springs of the mattress. it caused me back pain.grubby, sticky and dirty shared toilet.breakfast was less than basic. They've only cereals and fruit. They should add at least tow types of cheese. Room window does not close tightly; horrible noise and cold air comes through it.
Basic but only needed a sleep, loo and shower.
Entrance a bit smelly. No TV or shower in the room.
I did like the helpfulness of the duty staff member, who was eventually made to understand that the heating needed to be put on manually.
Was not impressed by the fact that parts of the building were still in an ongoing state of minimalistic repair. My shower unit looked well used. The window couldn't be closed properly. Breakfast was of poor quantity and quality.
It's location. The staff were very polite and helpful, and were more than willing to accommodate my early check-in request, which most other hotels I have stayed in have ignored.
I am aware that this hotel has gotten a lot of negative reviews on here, and I find myself questioning people's logic: for the astonishingly small amount you're paying, and for where the hotel is located, what do you expect?. Of course the hotel isn't lavish, but it's price reflects that, and it offers you the absolute best in location. I would've liked to have had a shower-room on my floor, rather than having to go through the communal main area before and after every shower. Other than that, I think that the hotel is what it is. It's a very old building, not particularly well furnished and situated on a noisy back alley. So if you can't cope with that, don't stay. But then be prepared to pay five times more for somewhere miles out of the city centre.
Very central location and comfortable bed.
Where should I start. Very basic rooms, TV was smaller than my laptop, no towels, very noisy, looked dirty (maybe it wasn't), walls are stained and falling off, smelly, the entrance was from the side lane that looked like a bin loading area. Was a bit scary and didn't feel safe at all. Plus I was told I have to pay an extra 3% if I pay by credit card - which the receptionist said it was the standard procedure in all hotel. I've staid in lots of hotels around UK and never heard of that.
Location Staff Room Cleanliness of room
Hallways a bit grubby
Location for Manchester visited to go to Old Trafford.
Shower was a trickle of water. Breakfast a waste of money. Stairs were old and a potential death trap. No lift for disabled or visitors with a few bags
Where to start.. First of all I would not define this 'hotel'. It is more of an hostel, whose standard is comparable to some hostels I slept in in South East Asia or Africa (with the difference that there I did not pay EUR100 but 5-10). The place is dirty (awful walls, mould everywhere), it smells, no towels are provided, the floor is uneven, there are two separate taps for hot/cold water, it is extremely noisy (clubs, trash and glass trucks, drunk people), it is impossible to make the room dark, there is no lift, breakfast is poor and bad and drinks are not refilled when finished. Definitely the worse 'hotel' I have ever been in. I have no idea how a place like this is not declared unfit for use (breathing all that mould does not seem very healthy). Despite on booking.com it says that internet is available paying a fee, on the entrance door it is written that is was cut off for good.
Brilliant location (just 100m from the millennium wheel), economy price.
Room had open shower (weird if you are sharing with a friend). Toilet was down the hall but sufficient.
I made the mistake of not reading reviews, as I thought it was for one night only! Had I seen the previous mentions of the bedbugs issues, I would have not gone anywhere near it!! Suffice to say I slept in the 1m/1m shower after having seen the bedbugs crawling on my otherwise clean duvet. The staff were quite apologetic in the morning, but needless to say I did not the the refund I demanded. Although they seem to think the infestation has been solved, this is definitely not the case. Avoid!
The staff were helpful and polite. The dining room was clean, bright and modern and breakfast was included in the price. The bedding was clean. Coffee and tea making facilities were available in the bedroom.
The entrance and lobby area are not welcoming and are in desperate need of updating. You have a sense of foreboding as to where you've booked into and you're proved right. The bedroom decoration wasn't up to standard. The room was smelly and the window was wedged open by a piece of chipboard. The carpet left a lot to be desired. No towel was provided. The seat on the chair was stained. The room next to the dining room, which you had to walk through to get to the dining room, looked like a store room, with an old mattress and chairs stacked and other bits and pieces lying about. The hotel is situated in a back alley with rubbish skips outside, these were emptied early in the morning. I know this is beyond the hotels control but it just rounded off the hotels image.
I guess the room had everything you need. Easy to get to and ten mins from phones for you arena
The cleaning wasn't up to scratch defo needs a refurb it was ok for one night. I Wouldn't stay there again though
everything. smelly. door wouldn't lock. curtains hanging off. bed hit the floor. noisy all through night and in the morning. needs either knocking down or totally refurb. id advise noone to go here.
The bed was comfy and the hotel is ok for those who need a bed for the night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean.
The hotel did not feel very secure and this broke my sleep a little. The bedroom door felt very loose even when it was locked and the main door of the hotel was also very loose which made me nervous due to a lot of people walking past at night.
The ensuite is a shower in the room. The hotel has extreme degrees of dampness. There was no mattress protector, minimal bedding. Poor ventilation. Security was an issue, as the door lock was loose. The shower was very weak and it was difficult to clean yourself in the trickle of water.
Just poor quality all round,I did not stay for breakfast as I didn't feel I could eat in the place,No towels in room, dirty cup
This hotel is rundown and shabby, especially the communal areas, but certainly not filthy; my room was clean, the communal toilet was clean, I didn't use the communal shower, but I checked it out and it was clean. Staff were friendly, and the free breakfast (no cooked food, but cereal, fruit, yogurt etc. and a toaster available!) was good, especially given the cost of the room.
It is very noisy outside. Late at night from people out drinking, and early in the morning from shops being restocked.
Brilliant location. Good value for money
