The location was very good. I liked the fact that the room doors had proper keys and not those awful swipe cards that most hotels seem to have these days. The security lock to get in the hotel after hours was very simple and effective. The construction work in front of the hotel meant a large puddle in front of the hotel which you had to by pass to get to the front door.

Only the location is good. Awful smell in the hotel, bugs in the bed during the night, very poor furniture, staff not agreeing to accept any criticism for the poor condition of the room.

The location The entrance lets it down with a strong smell of urine, once past that and up the stairs to reception it's better, also we ad a sink and shower in our room but no towel not even a hand towel , after reading terrible reviews I was dreading our stay but it was fine for one night, just small things let it down,

- One of the recepcionist was kind. - Terrible smell in the room. - I wanted to pay cash, but my credit card had been charged (including a 3% credit card fee) by the time I arrived at the hotel. The ugly recepcionist said that I should have written a note in my reservation if I had wanted to pay with cash. However I did not find this in the hotel policy at all.

Don't let the outside fool you as inside is totally differant, I had easy access getting in and out of the hotel. I had a nice sized room with its own sink, mirror, the bed was comfortable, i could open the window fully if i wanted, drink making facilities and a TV. There was a toilet and shower just down the hall. For Breakfast there was a good selection of food and drink to choose from. The sinks didn't 100% work (they did but not a good flow of water), I found it difficult to get into my room (the key or lock didn't properly work), the bed was comfy but the pillow was practically non-existent (it was so flat I had to put other stuff under it)

Cheapest room I could find in Manchester City Centre. Comfortable bed Clean linen Quiet considering location Polite receptionist No en-suite but toilet very close by and clean. Mothball smell in room. Opened window which helped. Slightly concerned that mothballs may have been attempting to mask another smell. No towel

Very little. Location was only good feature. Room was dirty and had no towels which we reported and were told it hadn't been cleaned yet. We returned later and it was no better but no one was on reception. The main light wasn't working in the room. Next morning we got towels from reception(they were damp). We also wanted to complain and ask for a refund but were told that the manager wasn't in till Tuesday! It is the worst hotel we have ever stopped in.

Non provision of towels (especially if room with shower is booked). Too thin pillows and one only provided. Thin mattress meaning sunken sleep experience. No provisions of tea/coffee with kettle and cups.

Nothing Bed bugs - I received over 100 bites, have had a severe skin reaction and had to have my own home fumigated all because the hotel were fully aware of the situation but did not warn patrons!

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and approachable. We were checked in and out without any complication. The milk in our room had curdled and there were no facilities of privacy for the shower.

Very convenient and cheap for City centre location. Needs to reduce heating and to make available a method of airing the room, e.g. some kind of window that opens.

Bed was comfortable, though it did not feel very sturdy Entrance was in a small urine soaked littered with rubbish Could not get staff to let me in when I arrived. I only got in because another guest left. Then reception was deserted and despite ringing the bell no one came for ages. No welcome from staff when he did finally arrive, no instructions on how to lock the door or where to go for breakfast Breakfast was bread and jam, or some very sad looking cereals. Although it was included in the price I went to costa instead. Building work next door started at about 7 am!!
