Accessibility and good value
Our room was at the back so very noisy with the main road. Good value though
Food was nice and bed good size
The fact the pictures made it look like it was in the countryside yet it was an old house with modern wings attached . It needs a refurb and better pics to show the whole complex
The bed was large and comfortable. the En-suite was very nice and it was clean. the room was lovely
my husband struggles to walk but our room was miles from where we wanted to be and I had to ask to be moved. they gave us one which was no nearer. one of the staff went to check to see if there was anything nearer the venue and we got another room which was very near the lift. my husband needs a banister to hold on to going up or down steps and there wasn't one for him coming down so he had to come down them backwards!!
Helpful friendly staff from front desk to housekeeping. Food gorgeous & plentiful. Wonderful views.
Staff couldn't do enough for you from the breakfast hoist to reception. Shining star however was the barman who was attentive friendly and chatted to us all weekend. We missed him on Sunday when he was representing the hotel at a Mercure football tournament. Hope you won Mercure Bradford.
Rooms ready for a re decorate bit tired.
We're in a disabled room, found bathroom not up to usual standard because set up for disabled person.
Amazing bed, comfy and luxurious (upgrade room) huge room, space, easy tv and films to watch, massive bathroom, toiletries good, lovely robes. Bar and breakfast staff lovely!
Nothing major. The room was a bit dark - rooms on opposite side of corridor looked much brighter. Tea and coffee tricky to find as tucked away in box in cupboard!
Food ,staff, car parking, room facilities and cleansernes
Bed was too soft for me , but everyone is different.
Good nights sleep.
Infrastructure around the Bradford Area, thjoug hwas closer to Skipton then actually was. Breakfast an additional £10 per person for brasserie only.
Clean bed linen, comfortable bed & pillows.Bathroom had welcoming tolitries & clean white towels. Would gladly have stayed another night as breakfast was excellent & service was good.
Nice bedroom, large bed, good view.
Lovely building with grand entrance area. The dated decor adds to the enticement of this place. Friendly and helpful staff. If you are out after midnight, watch out for the rabbits and other wild animals roaming the car park.
I went to the reception desk twice but no one was there. Waited over 10 minutes and then gave up. One morning Breakfast took over 20 minutes to arrive, not ideal if you are in a rush, however the next day was a buffet which I much prefer.
Bed comfortable Towels excellent, big and thick Staff -friendly and helpful Main entrance and public rooms/ facilities were very nice, oak-panelled, impressive hallway, good, clean dining room. EXCELLENT full buffet breakfast, although a bit pricey at £13.95 Value - about right
Food - ok, nothing special Room - 'boutiquified' but tatty, no drawers to put things in TV - broke up every few minutes for a few seconds Windows - couldn't open more than 10cms - let me out! General state of the room was not well maintained (broken switch on air-con), shower curtain was smelly
The rooms were very clean. Good access to major roads so it wasn't difficult to get to and there was a lot of parking. Good wifi in the rooms.
TV control was missing from my room, the reception staff said they would send a replacement up but nothing arrived. We waited an hour for sandwiches which we were told we could only eat in our rooms, not in the bar area. This was understandable but seemed to cause more issues than it solved.
The hotel is very much misrepresented in the photographs as a beautiful rustic building. In fact, only the reception area is situated in an old building. The rooms however are part of two 'modern' extensions - too new to be grand or beautiful, but too old and badly maintained to be comfortable. Our room was west facing and so incredibly hot. There is no air conditioning and no option to open a window. Our bathroom had not been properly cleaned and some 'evidence' of the previous guests was left in the bath. It was one of our worst hotel experiences and we simply would never choose another Mercure hotel in the future.
The quietness of the location was appreciated. Room was quiet even though a large wedding reception was in progress. All staff were helpful and polite. We've stayed at the hotel before and plan to do so again.
Minor point - Lift not clearly marked on the 2nd floor (we looked for the sign) so we were unable to use it. We didn't ask staff in Reception as they were busy with other guests.
Semi rural position with view of local train line in the distance.
Service on one of the breakfasts was a little slow
as per comments
very poor 3 out 10. Needs money investing in the hotel and Definatly the mattress because the most important thing about hotels is sleep.
rooms were good in a quiet wing of the hotel also excellent breakfast.
beds were a little firmer than we are used to
great location and car park
food not so good or flexibility of staff
The hotel was lovely the staff brilliant .
The room I think it was because of the flat roof . It was so hot it was unbearable .we requested a fan which was delivered within minutes but it didn't help . I sat near the open window both nights was glad to get home . This problem definatly needs attention
location was good for where I wanted to be.Bed was comfy.
Staff were slow to check me in and not very professional. The room was hard to find and I wasn't given directions. Carpets and furniture were shabby and dated.
The large, comfortable room Beautiful, well equipped bathroom Fantastic views from rooms at back of hotel over Airdale. Loads of parking spaces. Attentiveness of restaurant staff.
The communal areas and lifts could do with an update.
No air con in room, couldn't sleep as room was so hot. Mentioned it on check out and lady said 'oh we'll I'm cold so I've got the radiator on'. Hardly taking the problem on board then'!
