Price Very small rooms, too small for a bedside table. Very hard to find a parking space on the street.

Friendly staff/proprietors. Relaxed atmosphere. Convenient location. The b ooking.com website lists on site parking (fee) but the only parking is on street which can be very difficult. The bedroom was very small, although adequate for one night's stay. There was no hairdryer - though perhaps one was available if I'd asked!

The hotel staff were very friendly, cheerful and accommodating however we booked an en-suite room but unfortunately there were problems and we were placed in a room with a shared bathroom. Also we had a bit of trouble with the door locking and getting the t.v to work but the staff were quick to help us. Other than that is was enjoyable. Not having an en-suite bathroom as booked

Chris and Steve were great, very friendly, a laugh and looked out for me as I was on my own. The breakfast was great and the location was close to the beach and promenade with regular buses or trams into town and the train station. A very reasonable price to stay and I will definitely stay at the Merecliff again.

Warn friendly staff who made you very welcome and looked after you! The hotel room I had itself was only basic, but for the price I paided for it, I am not complaining, it was clean, safe, and tidy, ideal for a good nights sleep and will almost certainly go again!

Friendly welcome, clean, convenient location. Money-off vouchers for local attractions. Close to tram stop Tbh there are other hotels nearby offering equal facilities for less money (and with better view!). Breakfast only served 8-9, and when coming for breakfast at 8.45 we were told we'd 'left it a bit late'!

Perhaps a little old fashioned decorated but clean and cosy. Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent English breakfast, one street away from seaside.

“I was welcomed into the hotel as if I’d been there many times before; in fact this was my first time. I was offered a complementary hot beverage whilst I was booking in, what a lovely touch. Breakfast was as I ordered, the owner was still trying to offer me more toast ect even though I was full, nothing was too much for him. Rooms are compact but very clean & warm; my room was OK for a solo traveller, plus I was able to get the wireless internet, bonus.” Bruce, Heywood |
