Mere Court Hotel  

Really good size family room, excellent breakfast included.

I liked the gardens and setting, very spacious rooms

Attended a wedding as a guest - the organisation and execution of the wedding party, food, drink etc was flawless. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel as wedding venue. Staff were incredibly friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent bar one detail (see below) Rooms were very comfortable, large and aside from bathroom was very well decorated and maintained. Good location, grounds well maintained. Hotel was immaculately clean throughout.

A few minor details that may or may not be exculsive to our room (311). The shower was impossible to use, as a tolerable temperature could not be achieved. The whirlpool feature of the bath simply expelled black gunk on its first use. Tea/coffee container was broken and tired. Whilst the bathroom was immaculately clean, the decor seemed a little tired and dated. Excellent breakfast, but the sausages were undercooked in the middle! These are all minor issues in relation to how well the wedding we attended was. However, having stayed at other hotels in the vacinity for similar prices - for £90 a night I would expect the room to be as faultless as the rest of the hotel or alternatively find it acceptable to pay a little less.

No thick windows shades in the bathroom,thus lacking in privacy

Nice sized hotel [not too big] in a lovely rural location. Interesting building with some history & spacious & comfortable rooms. The half board option was definately worthwhile with a good three course dinner & full English breakfast included

Garden needs a bit more attention but otherwise no complaints

Our room was spacious and nicely furnished

We went for a romantic weekend break, but unfortunately there were 2 weddings on Saturday and SUnday, too many people in the hotel once the wedding party arrived, very noisy and unfortunately lots and lots of children running riot. This did spoil it for us as we were hoping for a quiet child free getaway, as we had left our own children with family for our weekend break to be surrounded by other peoples children.If no weddings taking place I would reccomend this hotel but if weddings are taking place I would avoid it.

Brilliant staff

The room was fantastic for a family and the kids loved it.really nice hotel and staff in lovely grounds in a great location for what we wanted.

Its location, food, jacuzzi and power shower.

The small lounge which is also a main thoroughfare to most of the rooms. All the room numbers in the Lakeside section have 3 digits and all begin with 3, eg I had room 332 which was on the 1st floor! Confusing.

Well kept grounds in a pleasant location, warm welcome and a very nice room indeed.

Having to be moved several times to make way for a wedding party, surley they should have seperate facilities.

Why charge your guests £3.70 for a pint of lager and £12.00 for a bar meal. The restaurant was nearly empty when I stayed last week.If you want your guests to eat at the local pub a mile down the road this would appear to be the way to do it.
