We like the country hotel feel with all the grounds around. It was a nice retreat for us We only stayed one night so not much to dislike really, prices of drinks were quite high but thats probably quite normal. Our lakeside room was quite dark coz we only had a small window and it wouldnt open. everythiing else was lovely

Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Facilities were good. Room was huge and bed was excellent. We had afternoon tea which was lovely and our evening meal and breakfast both excellent. Very few people in the restaurant for evening meal so staff very attentative. I thought Hotel could do with sprucing up a little as it looked a bit tired in some public areas but nothing too bad.The hotel grounds were lovely with a huge fish pond. Nice for sitting outside with a drink or having a walk around and a good pub ( The Kilton ) just a few minutes walk away if you want to get out for a bit. Close to lovely village of Knutsford and Tatton Park. Overall very good would recommend. The only thing that disapointed me was it was just too far to be able to walk into Knutsford but that would be the only thing I would say negatively about the hotel which is nothing really.

The setting was lovely & we were blessed with great weather so were able to fully appreciate the grounds. Our room was very nice. The quality of the food was good at dinner and breakfast. Rooms for the same price were not of equal quality - ours was much nicer than our friends'. Service was incredibly slow at dinner so we ate at different times to our friends - unacceptable when the restaurant was not busy.

We stayed at the hotel where we attended a social function. At that the food was excellent as was the breakfast. Rooms were OK but bathroom was very tired with shower attachment that couldnt adjust, a ventilator fan that was very noisy and a shaving mirror which couldnt be used. Also spray of local pig and chicken fertiliser in the area didnt help! Funtion was very good... accomodation therefore only fair

For my purposes it was convenient with easy access to the m6 and ideal for an overnight stay. Good value for money and would recommend to colleagues & friends. Breakfast was expensive if not included in the price.

Wonderful food cooked to perfection, very tasty an presented beautifully. Large and comfortable bedroom, powerful shower over a jacuzzi bath! Lovely staff, very accommodating and friendly. Clean and comfortable albeit an old hotel, very well looked after and definately recommendable. Would stay here every time, without a doubt. Blimey, nothing! A spa would top this hotel as a luxury retreat.

The location was close to my meeting The staff were unprofessional, unhelpful, scruffy and untrained. The decor was old fashioned and there was a smell like an old school - musky...it was like a trip back in time.

Large, quiet, comfortable room. Excellent food. Friendly staff. Couldn't understand why more people didn't eat in the dining room as the food was very good. We were there when there was a wedding on and it left the staff very depleted in the dining room. The hotel receptionist became our wiatress!

Nice sized hotel [not too big] in a lovely rural location. Interesting building with some history & spacious & comfortable rooms. The half board option was definately worthwhile with a good three course dinner & full English breakfast included Garden needs a bit more attention but otherwise no complaints

Very comfortable, clean with an excellent restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful and in my opinion real good value for money. A bit of luxury without denting your pocket. Shower head was broken only a minor thing but really should have been noticed by the cleaning staff

I spend my working life reviewing hotels, they weren't to know that, what a nice surprise this one was. Staff are excellent and ever helpful, the cleaning staff leave you alone and work around you if necessary. The room sizes are fabulous and the food is very good and reasonably priced, Excellent surroundings, easy and quick access to likes of Manchester airport. What a little gem, absolute value for money. book it. Taken as a whole nothing to complain about,

Our room was spacious and nicely furnished We went for a romantic weekend break, but unfortunately there were 2 weddings on Saturday and SUnday, too many people in the hotel once the wedding party arrived, very noisy and unfortunately lots and lots of children running riot. This did spoil it for us as we were hoping for a quiet child free getaway, as we had left our own children with family for our weekend break to be surrounded by other peoples children. If no weddings taking place I would reccomend this hotel but if weddings are taking place I would avoid it.

The hotel is a built on a lovely house built in 1902 - read the history on one of the walls. Our receptionist was delightful, helpful and informative. The room was not large, but well appointed and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. We had looked for the village of Mere and found there is no such thing, but nearby Knutsford had a good selection of restaurants. We were just passing through and didn't eat here so can't comment on breaakfast.

Quiet location but with easy access to airport and nearby towns. Normally very quiet and relaxing Evening stays and breakfast with large wedding events in hotel are not to be recommended. Loud music can continue to midnight and breakfast choice is limited to buffet only..

Its location, food, jacuzzi and power shower. The small lounge which is also a main thoroughfare to most of the rooms. All the room numbers in the Lakeside section have 3 digits and all begin with 3, eg I had room 332 which was on the 1st floor! Confusing.
