Contemporary decor throughout hotel. Quiet. Friendly Staff. Good location for access to prom, town and MER. Breakfast only available 0800 - 0900. Not much choice of time to eat and not suitable for passengers travelling on the morning ferry at 08:45. |

The hotel lives up to its description, however, Chris, the manager, as well as his innovative chef and the lovely lady who cooks the breakfast, really make Mereside a truly memorable place. Chris and his team of staff are the real gems of Mereside. |

very clean and cosy small hotel located in the centre of Douglasgood bar and restaurant breakfast period is very limited - from 8 to 9 am. I arrived at 9.15 first day and there was no hot breakfast already. I arrived at 7.50 the day after and it was not yet served - breakfast hours should be longer |

The staff were particulary friendly and welcoming. The rooms were excellent very clean and very tastefully decorated. The food in the restaurant was excellent with a good choice and very good value for money. My Mother in law was with us and the facitities for an elderly person were great with a lift right outside her room and even in the restaurant they appreciated that she didn't want a huge meal and were very accomodating. |

Convenient location, friendly staff, very nice room Room was noisier than expected from street noise and internal neighbours. Food was reasonably good but breakfast mediocre and evening meal service slow. Didn't like tv being on all evening in dining room either. |

A really warm welcome for our family and the lift was a great surprise. The location is a pleasant walk for the main town but far enough away to ensure a good night's sleep. The evening meals are superb. Nothing gastronomic but good food cooked really well. (We both worked in 4* hotels and are difficult to please when it comes to eating out.) If you are looking for a friendly clean comfortable accommodation on the Isle of Mann this is a great place to stay. |

Excellent location for all amenities in Douglas - not far from steam railway station for Port Erin and the electric trams to Laxey and Ramsey. Great Breakfasts and comfortable beds. Quiet throughout. Would certainly recommend. |
