Very clean accommodation. Friendly helpful staff.

Great steaks but singles miss out on steak night deals for 2; no shaver socket in room; Rosslyn annexe significantly inferior, best avoided in my opinion; parking difficult (like most of Douglas)

Modern, friendly staff, great comfy bed, excellent evening meal, good breakfast, lift to all floors, central position.

as with all the hotels in douglas, parking was hard, but i wasn't too far away. mereside signage poor, but it is on the corner, part of HQ bar & restaurant.

Thin walls, if you have "good" neighbour who turns on his TV on 2 a.m., then it is only hardly possible to sleep, but this is same for all the other guest houses/hotels in the location, and I had such "good" neighbour only once during my 2 weeks stay

Friendly staff - good location - great food - good value for money

The relaxed friendly atmosphere.

The one thing that we had an issue with was the bathroom light coming on when the door was opened - this was too bright when one of us used the bathroom in the middle of the night thereby disturbing the other.

Reasonable cost, good location, friendly staff, well equiped room and excellent restaurant. Every bit as good as my last stay. This is my first choice for an hotel and restaurant in Douglas. If you have flexability check which day they have their steak night as this makes an excellent meal even better value. They also have other specials in the restaurant.

We felt that they gave more attention in the resturant to people from outside before guests, The manager said he told us we would have to book a table I begged to differ with him, Twice there was no table for us so we decided to eat elsewere, there should be a notice in the rule book on dressing table

It is an absolute pleasure to write a review of Mereside. The hospitality and staff were great, the room was modern and spotlessly clean, the food excellent and the chef was adaptable with lunch time menu to suit our needs. The dining room and bar facilities are very relaxing with large window views and a sunny terrace outside. The situation is one back from the beach, but has a sea view down the street. Parking on the street is convenient with no parking costs. The manageress and her team are very friendly, caring and passionate about their business. I would definitely stay at Mereside again and strongly recommend to any potential travellers. Thank you Mereside for a great weekend.

The only thing I didn't like was the behaviour of one of the guests who seemed to want to cause a disturbance and not happy with anything at all. I suspect a very sad and lonely person who is not happy with life in general !! However, the manager and staff were able to deal with him so as not to disrupt other guests in the dining room. This is not a complaint of Mereside at all.

Good, clean accommodation.Really friendly staff and a good standard of cleanliness and service. I have stayed here twice with my son who has autism and the staff were fabulous with him.

I booked this last minute, I stay in hotels all over england at least twice a week. The mereside has topped all of those by a mile. All you want from a hotel on business is comfort good food and friendly helpful staff with great customer service. Mereside had it all in bucketloads, would reccomend 100%.Thanks see you again on my next trip over to the island. Unless your fully booked up....

Very friendly, helpful staff, excellent food, breakfast first class. Room was clean and had ample space would definitely stay again.

The breakfast was good,with good choice, the room was adequate,the shower room was beautiful.

We did not like the bedding, they did not look clean, although they probably were,but with a supposed three or four star rated hotel we would expect nice crisp white sheets and covers that feel clean. There was no lounge area , the bar area was small with one of the tables by the window being used for the hotel paperwork etc. which didn't help. This is a business hotel , we would say ,not somewhere to relax on holiday.
