“ Excellent b & b in a gorgeous home in Salisbury. Spotless and very comfortable in a very warm and friendly home. Fabulous home cooking with a delightful breakfast selection and afternoon tea. I would love to come back! This b & b is a must if you are in Salisbury! (Just take a small bag as there is a flight of gorgeous but tiny stairs) Thank you so much for such a relaxed stay! ”

All of it There is a big bath in one of the rooms with a great shower, but you have to hold it over you (there is no wall fixing)

A beautiful place to stay. Clean and crisp room with a luxury bathroom, yummy brownies on arrival and use of the guest lounge/ library - very relaxing and enjoyable. Also a couple of friendly cats and an amazing breakfast in the morning - great stuff! The bath looks beautiful but the shower was a bit impractical and you end up getting the bathroom very wet!

Pretty much everything! Host goes totally out of her way to ensure your comfort. And the breakfast that you wake up for in the morning is LUXURY! Oh the BREAKFAST!! To die for! You are actually given a menu to choose from, which leans that apart from the standard English Breakfast, there are other choices such as pancakes ... Amazing homemade muffins ... over and above everything else ... Freshly squeezed orange juice and pressed apple juice ... LUXURY indeed! Would have liked to have functional wardrobe and drawer space in room.

The hotelier Sarah was very welcoming. On arrival we were given complimentary glasses of wine and made to feel at "home". Merivale House is full of character and was worth every penny! Although you feel like your miles from the Salisbury city centre, it is only about a brisk 20/30 minute walk which is handy - cab prices are also reasonable too!

It was very informal and sarah, our landlady was very helpful with directions to local supermarkets, somehwere to eat and even willing to set up for us to eat a take away in her diningromm/conservatory. The room was exquisite, very tastefully decorated with all the home comforts. The cottage is beautiful with a lot of original features, just what we were hoping for when we booked. I wish I had time to stay and enjoy one of her famous breakfasts, but we were rushing off. However, Sarah accommodated our early start, having stored some food for us in her firdge and giving me a bowl of delicious berries for breaksfast following on from a conversation I had with her the day before. She is so accommodating and the cat and kitten are gorgeous. I would definitely return and would recommend to others. Just sorry it was such a short stay. Be careful with the stairs up to the rooms - please put the laning light on so you can watch your footing. I wouldn't recommend it if you have problems with stairs.

An old house with plenty of character.Full of books, pictures, records, cds, and collectables and antiques. Very pleasant bedroom and sitting room. Excellent bathroom. Warm and welcoming and informative host. Excellent and varied breakfast. Porage for example was delicious and accompanied with fresh rasberriesand bilberries and a varoety of croissants and different breads, jams and marmalade etc. It was quite hard to find, but once found would be somewhere you would return to with confidence. The only problem that folk should be aware of was the bedroom was reached via a steep and narrow staircase. We are both 74 and managed it well but feel it could cause a problem for someone with stiffer joints than ours

It was close to city of Salisbury. Just 25-30 minutes to walk to the Market Place and the Cathedral of Salisbury. Marivale house lies in a quiet country-like place just outside the town. Taxi from Market place to Marivale House was 6-7 £. They served a very good breakfast. Many different choices. From pancaces to smoked salomon with scrambled eggs. Maybe just a little hard to find.

The generous, warm welcome simply continued throughout my one night stay. Merivale House is small and intimate but that is the essence of its charm. On foot, the location is a surprising distance from the town centre but, by car this isn't an issue. However, it might be worth mentioning that somewhere. Otherwise, I cannot fault it!
